  1. First you should not be using Cast Sequence macros at all, also Omni CC (or similar add on) is an add on you should be using to monitor your CD's. I am assuming you are a human, by the fact that you have "Trinket1" & "Trinket2" although that would indicate that you are using a PVE trinket (2 on use trinks) if that is the case then you should not be doing that. Also, I do not play a pally, but I am almost sure at least a couple of those abilities and trinkets share a CD... Also, that potion can't be used in Arena, so I am assuming this is a reggy BG macro? Hope that helps...
  2. Lockdupagain... Again! I am going to go over stat priority as it seems the world continues to go on un-apocalypsed. This is very straight forward, and I have not noticed any deviation within the lock community at large. Most of you already know this stuff, but in case you do not I hope this helps. Stat Priority Spell Hit to 6%- Hit is always the most important stat, its only to 6% so a couple reforges and you should be capped at the lower gear tiers. PVP Power- This is very important, and my main argument against using PVE gear in PVP. This stat makes you hit players harder. Which is obviously useful in PVP lol! I do not have the numbers anymore, but there was a large margin of DPS when it came to stacking PVP power. I maintain well over 13k, which is about 50%. Intellect- Int is a locks main stat, always stack this if at all possible. it raises your crit, and your Spell power. PVP Resilience- This acts as a dmg reducer. This is below int and PVP power, due to the fact that it DRs, and I am of the opinion that anything over 60% is a waste (around 7k). I do not gem for Resil when I can gem for PVP power. Mastery- This is by far our most important secondary stat. I have heard rumblings that crit is better, but its not. Our demon does more dmg (Combine this with Glyph of Demon Training), and so do we in both caster form and Demon form. I have spoken before about consistency, and this is the case here. Anytime you can raise your base dmg, do it. Crit is largely RNG imo and I am not a fan. Crit Chance- This raises the chance that one of your hits can hit for critical dmg (200%). Crit is ok, but only take away from haste to get it. Reforging This will be brief, but there are a couple tips worth mentioning about reforging as a lock. Hit and expertise- If you are hurting on hit, and you have reforged and done what you can, consider reforging a secondary stat to expertise on a piece of gear that already has hit. This way you can gain more "Spell Hit". Haste- If the gear has Mastery and Haste reforge Haste to Crit. As usual any questions feel free to ask, or send me a msg. I hope to have some vids up in the next month or so (Depending on the VA, I am a poor college student now haha) Hopefully I have FRAPs after Christmas. Thank you all, and Merry Christmas, and Happy Chanukah!!
  3. I think that the way they have it set up right now is fine, TBH I would do it whenever it came out, just to see content. I know I am a minority, but I would do it regardless. I do not think taking away loot is a good idea, just because there would be less incentive to do the LFR. I believe that it comes out with the Herioc patch, and to me that is acceptable. Like i said though, all of this is just my opinion.
  4. With recent tweaks CB should not be killing that fast. As I stated in an earlier post, your kills should be coming from Shadowburn. The only time CB should kill is due to an ability hitting harder than usual or RNG. You want consistancy though, and you get that with Ember Tap. It would be a good Glyph if there was one more slot, but I wouldnt go replacing anything for it. I will add that this is a playstyle choice as well.
  5. Yes, to both. I have not updated for recent changes to (5.1) and I will be doing that soon. I recently got FRAPS, and am considering "putting myself out there" so to speak; however, as you all know the WoW community can be, quite critical, and I want the game to stay fun for ME, not flamers on the internet, but let me know if any of you would be interested in me putting vids up possibly...
  6. Thank you for your reply. First I will go over glyph of supernova as this is not even live yet. I personally, would not switch out a major glyph for this. Mostly due to the fact that I do not die enough to warrant a glyph that only works on those few instances. I am not saying I am the greatest, but I am usually able to survive multiple encounters with the enemy. It would have been cool had it not been nerfed so bad. This is goin to be something that looks cool, but I doubt it's effectiveness until it goes live. As for the rest of glyphs: Glyph of Demon Training- you should be sac'ing your pet anyway, so if you do that then you have no need for this glyph. I know people think that GoSac is nerfed, but I argue to the contrary. 25% of my chaos bolts dmg is added as a 3 sec DoT? That's pressure and with recent healing nerfs it is working out nicely. Glyph of Soul Consumtion- First, no one should be executing with CB. Shadow burn gives back 2 burning embers and with Ember tap you can use one to heal yourself for 18.Something percent of max HP. I hope tht helps, and as soon as I get home I will fix the copious amounts of spelling, and gramatical errors on here as I am on my iPhone! Thanks!!
  7. Ah noted, Thank you, I will definitely be doing that next time. Much appreciated!
  8. This is the final installment of the Talent and Glyph Guides from me, Lockdupagain. After this I will be doing some strat guides and if the Warlock community at large wants it, some vids. Enough with the foreplay lets get right to it! Major Glyphs- The major glyphs are pretty much standard here. Save but two which can be switched out at your leisure. Glyph of Burning Embers- Increases your maximum burning embers by 1. This is an important one especially for RBGs, I build up all four then let loose a salvo of CB that can decimate and EFC or Healer. Also, having an extra one is great for a focus Shadowburn. I keep shadowburn on my wheel (wheel down). If I see my focus target hit 20% while I am building or burning embers, its always nice to have an extra one to kill him in a clutch situation. Glyph of Healthstone- Dark Regeneration plus this glyph=alot of heals, again if you need one big heal instantly this is not the glyph for you, but 100% extra heal over 10 sec plus 25% extra from Dark Regen is hard to ignore. Glyph of Dark Soul- While off cooldown, your Dark Soul ability passively grants you 10% of the active effect, but reduces the power of Dark Soul. Now, I use this one sometimes due to the fact that in RBGs you cant always blow your CDs when you are downing someone, you have to save them so this gives me extra oomf when I'm ready to pop my CDs. Glyph of Conflagrate- No longer needs immolate to snare targets. This is good because my spells are all keybound so my conflag is on my mouse and so is my focus conflag. If I need to peel this is a good aid. I can tab conflag or focus conflag in a pinch. This is effective, and if you are running arena as destro a better choice than Glyph of Dark Soul. Minor Glyphs- Once again most are cosmetic, but a few have real benefits. Glyph of Nightmares- This is good for RBGs because you can move across water on your mount. Great for RBGs when getting somewhere in a hurry is a must. Glyph of Verdant Spheres- This is a fun glyph, it lets you see how many burning embers you have above your head. Its cool looking especially when you have your Malevolent Helm... Conclusion: These are the Glyphs that make sense, and are the best for Destro imo. I will be going into stat weights and spell "rotations" not really rotations so much as a spell priority. I'll be taking a day or so off, then back at it again! Comment and Like these let me know your thoughts!
  9. Hey guys and gals, its lockdupagain... Again. We are going to be going over the talents for Destruction, a very hard hitting burst spec for locks. This is my RBG spec, I do not use this in arena, but thats my personal preference. There is alot of hard casting going on, so staying mobile is the key to this spec. Here we go! Tier 15 Talents- Just as I said in the demo guide, there is only one logical choice in this tree, but we will review anyway. Dark Regeneration- Instantly restores 30% of you and your pet's health increasing all healing received by 25% for 12 sec. This is great when you have a healer, as they can get you to 100% real quick. This is the talent I take in all situations, except one. Soul Leech- Many of your spells (CB, Incinerate) give a percent heal of the dmg. I have heard arguement, but having control over your heal to use it when you need it is key. Harvest Life- Drain life, but AOE style. As demo this is good, however for destro not as much, there is no demonic fury to build up, thus making this less of a choice. Tier 30 Talents- This is a situational tier. Lets review. Howl of Terror- AOE Fear. What is great is that when you take a dmging attack the CD is lowered by 1 sec. This is not so good when you have a fear immune team, aka Priest Warrior. Mortal Coil- 3 sec "fear" that restores 15% of your max HP. With a 45 sec CD this is not one you want to take. Shadowfury- AOE 3 sec stun. This is good against teams that are fear immune and make HoT useless. However, if you are running with a Warrior or Rogue this can DR their stuns. Tier 45 Talents- this is pretty clear cut choice, and here is why. Soul Link- When active all dmg and healing between you and your pet, yada yada yada... Check it out If you use Grimoire of Sacrifice this gives you something like 70k more health I do not have the hard numbesr, but as soon as I get them it will replace this. I run into RBGs with 420k+ HP. Which is nice. Sacrificial Pact- Your Demon sacrifices half its current health to shield its master for 200% of the sac's health, lasts 10 sec. If you have no demon, your health is sacrificed instead. This is not good, as you should have sac'd your pet for the dmg boost (more on that in the 75 tier). Dark Bargain- Prevents all dmg for 8 sec. When the shield fades, 50% of the dmg is delt over 8 sec. This can backfire, as a warrior or hunter or mage bursts on you, you still take half the dmg as a DoT, and whatever else they are putting out after the shield fades. Tier 60 Talents- This is cut and dry, Blood Fear is the only way to go. Blood Fear- Turns your fear into an instant fear. Thats super OP, no juking, not BS jsut a fear when you need it. Burning Rush- Drain 4% of max HP a sec to increase movement speed by 50%. This is just not good, and thats all I can really say. Unbound Will- Its a second trinket, this is cool, but its not as useful as an instant fear imho. Tier 75 Talents- There is only one. Grimoire of Supremecy- Have upgraded Demons, its cool, but you lose out on alot of single target DPS this way. Grimoire of Service- Summon an extra demon for 20 sec on a 2 min CD, just not worth it imo. Grimoire of Sacrifice- Now we are cooking with gas! Sac your pet, gain an ability from them and your single target spells get a 25% dmg buff, but wait thats not all. If you pick this talent right now, we will throw in 2% of your max HP every 5 sec. Seriously, this hurts. I know that people are worried about 5.1 making the extra 25% dmg from CB a DoT, but please believe me when I tell you that this is not a nerf. This is going to cause pressure, plus incinerate still hits 25% harder, its just the CB dmg that is a DoT. Still going to be very powerful come 5.1. Tier 90 Talents- This is pretty cut and dry due to the mobility issues of hard casting. Archimonde's Vengeance- Make an enemy take 25% of the dmg done to you for 8 sec, Passively anyone that attacks you takes 5% of the dmg. This is good, but better for other specs. Kil'jaedens' Cunning- You can channel and cast while moving for 6 sec. The Passive effect is what makes this talent king for Destro. You can cast and channel while moving increasing the cast time by 50%. All I am going to say is a haste stacked Destro lock is something serious. Being able to hard cast while moving is great. If you stop the cast time returns to normal, it only slows while you are moving. I stop and go alot to get casts off as I need to. Getting off a clutch CB and moving while doing it is just unmatched. Monnoroth's Fury- Increases AOE by 500%. This was good when 3 stacks of Rain of Fire would stun, now that it has gone away, its not really good, unless in an RBG situation where you can sit and cast. Thats the Destro Talent Guide. I hope you all find it useful. I tried to cut to the chase more with this one, and not make it so long. If you want the wall of text because you love my witty, dry sense of humor let me know and ill go back to that format. If you like the readers digest version I'll keep it like this one. Glyph Guide coming soon!!!
  10. Great I actually think that demo locks are the best equipped to take down rogue/warrior its all about situational awareness, and using your terrain to your advantage. I have been contemplating postin links I vids, but idk yet. Also, the destro guide will be up soon. My only regret is that I can't put tool tips up due to icy veins restrictions. If you want the vids let me know.
  11. This is the Glyph guide to go along with the Demo Talent Guide, I mentioned some glyphs in that guide and I am going to go more in depth here (see what we did there? You know you wanted to find out how it ended). I will only be talking about glyphs that are for Demonology, and only ones that make sense. Here we go… Major Glyphs: Glyph of Healthstone- this glyph is great when used in conjunction with Dark Regeneration as it will increase your total HP gained. You receive 100% more health; however, it does it over 10 sec. Not good if you need a big heal right then. I use this 95% of the time, and it’s a great glyph to have. Glyph of Demon Training- I told you we would come back to this one. Improves your demons abilities. Check out the tooltip on wowhead if you want to see all of them, I will only be discussing The FelGuard/ WrathGuard. Felguard gets 20% more health. What this means is that when used with Sac Pact it gives you a bigger bubble. This has saved my life more than once, and I believe it is a must. Glyph of Imp Swarm- Great Glyph, it’s like a hunters stampede, but with Imps! I know you are as excited as I am. This ability pops out 5 imps who attack the target, and generate demonic fury. This is great because if the enemy is tabbing through targets, not enemy players, then they will be targeting all of your imps before you. It gives a nice DPS burst and generates a good amount of Demonic Fury, making this my 3rd Major Glyph Glyph of Demon Hunting- This is popular right now, but I do not know why. It gives a half metamorphosis called Dark Apotheosis. It reduces physical dmg by 13.85% and magic dmg by 15% and lets you use some Demonic abilities. It also allows Twilight Ward to absorb all schools of magic (our 4 piece set bonus does this already) It doesn’t give you a huge dmg buff like old reggie metamorphosis does (with my mastery I do well over 50% more dmg). You trade a lot of dmg for a little bit of survivability, so for me this should not be taken, especially when Demon Training is so powerful with Sac Pact. Minor Glyphs: Most of the Minor Glyphs are just cosmetic but a few have real benefit. Glyph of Health Funnel-Instantly restores 15% of your demons health. This is not spammable, but is great to use before Sac Pact. Glyph of Carrion Swarm- Takes away the knock back… What?? No thank you. You should always use the terrain to your advantage (I’ll get into that in a strat post I’ll do) DO NOT take this glyph. Glyph of Hand of Gul’dan- You can place it on the ground, this can keep a dps from pillaring and casting some off heals. Glyph of Felguard- Felguard will equip a random two-handed weapon from your backpack. Glyph of Nightmares- Your Felsteed and Dreadsteed run on water. Good for RBGs Glyph of Falling Meteor- If you use Demonic Leap while falling you hit the ground faster, and will not die from the dmg. Again an RBG glyph (knocked off LM in Arathi). Those are the only glyphs I felt are worth having. As before, if you have any questions feel free to PM me or comment, I will be posting more of the like in the coming days, unless I get run out of town by villagers with pitchforks and torches that is...
  12. My name is Lockdupagain, I love playing a lock, and I love PVP. Before I get started I would like to say that this is my first guide like this so if I put something on here you disagree with comment and let me know, I have come to my opinions through experience and watching others succeed and fail. I want to help any other locks out there, there seems to be fewer and fewer of us, so I want all of us to represent well. I feel that Demonology is atm an underrated/underappreciated spec. I say this because, while many are playing it, I see more destro locks in arena because of CB and SB. Burst is a big deal right now with everyone killing each other in a few globals. With that being said here we go… First, we are going to go over talents and glyphs. The beauty of this xpac is that we have the ability to change this prior to a fight (keeping tomes on you is a must these days). Level 15 talents: Dark Regeneration- This is a no brainer for me, as it restores 30% of you and your pets max health, and increases all healing by 25% over 12 sec. When used in conjunction with Glyph of Healthstone (we’ll talk about this later) this is pro. It also helps your healer, who will thank you later. Soul Leech- This a passive heal for a % of the damage done, this feels like a PVE talent and I have not found use for it, as control over your heals in PVP is almost a must. Harvest Life- This is situational and can be used against certain teams; mainly ones containing a BM hunter. Harvest life is like Drain life, but AOE style. It generates Demonic Fury as well as heals for a decent amount when there are a lot of targets. When a Hunter pops Zoo (Stampede) it summons more pets, meaning at that time there can be 8 or so targets, pop Harvest life, and you can survive the damage, and come out with plenty of Dfury to return in kind. Conclusion: Dark Regen should be your go to talent, unless the situation dictates Harvest Life. The level 30 talents are not as clear cut. This one is VERY situational and I will not go into great detail here just the basics, if you have more questions on this tier PM me and I’ll gladly explain further. Howl of Terror- This is a good talent for team without the capability to immune your fears. i.e., Warrior/Priest/Shaman. With that being said, Melee teams that jump on you will be sent in all directions, stacking on your healer and poping this is great. The CD is 40 sec, but when you are hit by a damaging attack the CD is decreased by 1 sec. making this very valuable when you are being trained. Mortal Coil- When MoP first dropped I thought this was a great talent, but it is actually the worst of the 3. The heal is ok, but it’s just not enough with a 45 sec CD. Shadowfury- This is an AOE stun (3 sec) and is best when you are running against Fear immune classes. It is a great peel for your healer, or a good interrupt. With a 30 sec CD it is the shortest of the 3 (base CD), but be careful if you are running with a stun heavy class as you could DR their stuns. Conclusion: HoT and Sf are the only two you should be using, given the proper situation, of course. The Level 45 talents are easy for Demo. Sacrificial Pact is the only one under any circumstance. I'll explain why: Soul Link- Shares the damage and healing between you and your demon. This is terrible, because melee teams can focus your pet if they cannot get to you and still hurt you. Sacrificial Pact- As Demo your demon does a good percentage of your dmg so you ALWAYS want your demons out (Don’t Sac!!), but we will get to that in a bit. Sac Pact gives you a bubble for 10 sec of that’s half your pets current health, and when used with glyph of Demon Training, this is very powerful. You can also use this while cc’d (Mage stun, survive the shatter combo.) This is the only talent you need from this tier. Dark Bargain- This prevents all dmg for 8 sec... Sounds good right? Keep reading. When the bubble fades you take half that dmg as an 8 sec DoT. This means when you survive the initial burst from that BM Hunter or Warrior then you take that dmg and the dmg that they are putting out post DB. This can easily backfire. Conclusion: As Demo, Sac Pact is my only choice. Tier 60 Talents have some debate as well, but the advantages of Blood Fear, I believe, out shines the other two. Blood Fear- Replaces fear with an instant cast fear. That’s seriously OP. Burning Rush- Increases movement speed by 50% at cost of your HP; this is not a good PVP talent, that’s about it. Unbound Will- Purges all magic effects, and movement impairing effects. This is essentially a second trinket, which can be useful, but I feel like an instant fear is far superior in terms of viability. I know a lot of people are using this, but I think you lose out on too much cc ability. Conclusion: My recommendation is Blood Fear, you do not have to worry about your CC being interrupted, no juking your cc cast, and personally I have only been in one situation in which I needed unbound will warrior at 4k HP and healer cc’d, and I got cc’d. Other than that I cannot tell you how many times my instant fear saved my butt, or my healers butt, with a clutch interrupt or cc. Tier 75 Talents, this is the source of my arguing with other Locks. Two are good, one is eh, and everyone has an opinion, so here is mine. Grimoire of Supremacy- Your Demons become upgraded, and deal 20% more damage. The Wrathguard is sweet, just saying. In all seriousness, if you are demonology then you obviously rely on your demons. This to me is a no brainer, but there is argument for others. Mastery makes your pets hit harder, and you hit harder in and out of demon form. The wrathguard hurts peoples feelings. Grimoire of Service- Bring out a second demon for 20 sec. It’s a nice dps burst, but only 20 sec on a 2 min CD it doesn’t offer many advantages in comparison. Grimoire of Sacrifice- Sac your demon and gain a passive heal and increase the power of some of your single target spells. This argument holds weight, but it does not make sense to me being Demo, Destro GET IT!! WE will talk about that later though. Conclusion: While the argument for GoSac has some weight, I feel that the pets are too strong with Supremacy, thus making it the best choice. Tier 90 Talents are fun and offer some interesting options, so without further adoo... Archimonde’s Vengeance- Cause an enemy to take 25% of all damage you take for 8 sec. Also 5% passively. This is nice against KFC and high burst dmg teams where you can make the healer or your target take 25% of the dmg that you are being hit with, essentially making their teammates (or them) DPS their teammate. I love this talent, but it is situational. I’ll get into that in the conclusion. Kil’jaeden’s Cunning- You can cast and channel while moving for 6 sec. Passively, you can cast on the run with a 50% increase in cast time. Super OP, if you have hard casts… As Demo we use instant casts so this is unnecessary. Mannoroth’s Fury- This is great when you are running against Rogue, Druid, Mage, or any other class blizz lets have vanish/invis/camo (hunters) smoking a rogue out of stealth from half the map away if fun especially when you can literally see them piss themselves out in the open. I run this in RBGs to keep people off the flag. Conclusion: Take AV when not running against stealth, otherwise take MF. That is the talent section, I wanted to put the tooltips in, but i was getting errors every time I tried, so for that I apologize. I will have the glyph section following quickly, if you have any comments, questions, or complaints let me know. This is my first guide, but not my first xpac. Myself and GammO want the PVP Locks to get a good representation so we are putting in some work to help you guys. Feel free to PM us.
  13. I haven't seen its viability (affliction) yet this season, but I see the benefits here. How are you countering burst from say KFC?
  14. I think he means that the lock stuff on the site is from a PVE perspective. GammO- if I may, why affliction for 3s and in what comp (unless you are getting to that, in which case disregard lol) I have a few macros you may want: #showtooltip /cast [@mouseover,exists][]Malefic Grasp /petdefensive /cast [pet:Observer]Tongue Lash(Basic Attack) this is a generic one you can use for any spell #showtooltip /stopcasting /cast [modifier:shift, target=focus] SPELL; SPELL This is an all in one pet ability macro for when you pull out dif pets (unless you are sac ing your pet) Shift for the focus target. if you are using grimore of supremacy you have to change the names #showtooltip /cast [mod:shift, target=focus, pet:felhunter]Spell Lock;[pet:felhunter]Spell Lock; [mod:shift, target=focus, pet:felguard]Axe Toss;[pet:felguard]Axe Toss; [mod:shift, target=focus, pet:succubus] Seduction;[pet:succubus]Seduction; [pet:imp]Flee
  15. Destro is great in RBGs especially when a big crit is needed to burn a Healer or EFC. I think we do need a sticky for it, and if it was for PVP i would be more than happy to help. Destro is dangerous, especially in the hands of someone that knows the subtleties of it. I agree we need a sticky for destro!!!
