Blackiron Micro Crucible

Recommended Posts

What does everyone think about the best way to go about using the proc on this trinket?  I just got it from a BRF cache.

 http://www.wowhead.com/item=113984/blackiron-micro-crucible&bonus=567

Builds up to 20 stacks of multistrike over the course of 10 seconds starting at 1 stack of 173 and ending at a final 20 stack total of 3,460.

Since there's no snapshotting it makes me think of playing destruction in 5.4 while using black blood of y'shaarj http://www.wowhead.com/item=102310/black-blood-of-yshaarj. Basically try to line things up so everything is hitting hardest for the last 5 or so stacks.  Thoughts?

I'm not so sure about that. I clearly depends on how much "burst potential" you got. I'm sure your'e tracking the interalal CD, so you should start banking MC procs (or embers, depenging on your spec) with 12-20 seconds left on the ICD. When it procs your'e sureley casting something or at least on GCD and the next planned cast will be quite sure the same as you mentioned before.

Like this

T 0.0: proc

T 2-4: finished your second cast in mind

if you got either 4 MC procs or 3 burning embers you should just start to unload your burst at 8-10 stacks.

So in my mind it's proc -> 2-3 normal spells (4-6 seconds) -> burn.

By waiting for the last 5 stacks you'll have only a 2.5 sec window to get out 2 casts, I'd prefer getting my last burst off with 18 stacks over maybe missing out 17-20 because of starting too late. But that's just theory.

It will be a matter of practise and how you cope with the mechanics of that trinketproc. I'm sure after a few hours of using it you'll get a feeling for it and how to make best use of it.

Oh, yes, indeed it's RPPM. In this case forget about tracking the ICD.

There was some misunderstanding from my side. So getting of as much heavy hitting casts as possible will not be planable, but be depending on the amount of actual burst potential that's up - so forget about most of my previous posting, but getting off at least 2-3 of those MC proccs or CBs will be possible nearly on every proc.

Yeah I thought that was weird too, thinking "wait it's rppm right????"  All good.  So you really can't predict it.  That I understand, but say I'm playing DS/goserv/AD affliction (best feeling ST spec right now imo), and I get that sexy proc.  I assume I go for the most damage possible so that makes me think throwing out a haunt since it'll also cast a bazillion multistrikes.  So cast at like 4 seconds before finish, which would mean start casting at 12 stacks (each stack is .5 seconds).

Or apply a haunt first and just get as much as you can from dots+drain soul?

I thought it was RPPM?

Also I took 5 stacks to mean you finish your first cast at 5.

No I meant trying to time your cast so that it starts 5 seconds or later before the last stack.  So like starting the cast at a 10 stack so that it hits at roughly an 18 stack or something.
