Help Analysis logs

Recommended Posts

OK, that's what I'm looking on when I read logs.
For example, for Demo spec:

1) First of all - DoT and HoG uptimes in the "Damage done" tab.
Depending on the fight and talant taken, HoG count and uptime may be different. But DoT uptime is strongly advised to be kept above 95%. HoG uptime would be around 40%, if we imply weaving(stacking dots together).

Your uptimes on Darmac are not good - only an 81% of corruption and 91% of doom. You were using Cata, and there is a ton of spears outta there to be DoT'ed for your advantage.
It's easy to lose attention on boss DoT's. Keep them up.
Oregorger. UA of 81%, but that's fight mechanic being relevant.

2)Then, I try to approximatly estimate the amount of important casts, to know whether you've lost some or something like that.
It's done well on the "Casts" tab.

Once again, your Darmac fight.
11 minutes fight.
10 Cataclysms. Check.
11 Darksouls. Check.
20 Chaos Waves. Che...wait, what? Should be a bit more...

Your top DPS warlock casted 7 more, and they did whooping 25% of his damage. Average is 5k more aswell.
It's an incredibly OP spell for AoE, especially in Cata build and on Darmac scenario.

3)When I've counted casts, I use graph on "Casts" tab, essentially for one thing - find out what have been buffed by Dark Soul and what was not.
DS is 10 seconds, so you pull it up on the graph, do the same for Catas and CWs or Demonbolts, and just count which casts are fitting into 10 second window after DS.

You've done a great job of buffing Cata on Darmac.
Yet your CWs are mostly off the charts - almost the half of those went off unbuffed.
I may assume some of them were cast during Fury burn phase, so you don't waste cooldown, but there are still some casts directly after DS and Cata, slightly off the window.

4)Last thing is "Buffs" tab.

It's important for Destro to be syncronizing procs, however, Demo procs from weapon, GoSyn or BRF trinkets are less controlable and less affecting your gameplay.
Usually, I just check 2nd pot usage here.

That's how I read logs for warlockssmile.png
Sorry for going hard on your Darmac and not talking much about Hans/Frans and Oregorger.
Ore is a very chaotic fight (and deadly). You shouldn't be really chasing super top DPS here.

HansFrans with Cata is very questionable for me. They are not standing together for the most of fight.
DemServ build was our choice for yesterday raid, and we pulled up slightly more than you.

It's not stellar, I've died and both Wlocks have 2pc tier, thoughdry.png

Correct me If I'm wrong.
Hope that helps.
Good luck!

Thanks for sharing this Paracel. it has been very helpful. For step 4, the buff section, may I ask something please? Do you basically just see if the lines coincide or is there a more technical way to do it?

I just see the coincidence. No real secret.

If buff is from active source, it's easy to see it on "Casts" tab, if you need exact time.

To go off Paracel's example of checking which Cataclysms and Chaos Waves were buffed by Dark Soul, what I tend to do is that I'll go to the BUFFS tab and then I'll pin Dark Soul by clicking on the little '+' sign. Then I'll move to the CASTS tab and select the spell of interest. On the top graph (which should be showing Dark Soul buffs), you will notice at the top right of the graph it says:

Type: Decorator | Graph: Separate | Colour: X

If you keep clicking on the word 'Separate', it will cycle between Off, Main and Separate.

If you have it on Main, then it will merge the Dark Soul buff with your casts data and you will be able to see both on the same graph.

Thank you both! Though it is not easy to figure out sometimes the site (WCL) is really good for letting you see things.

I have lots of pretty graphs now but still lost
