Brawler's Guild - Yikkan Izu

Recommended Posts

Guest Mooglinn

Balance druid 490 ilvl, Mooglin - ghostlands

had issues with yikkan izu. I ended up having to reforge all my crit to haste and ONLY focus on yikkan, i left my starfall kill some small birds.

Got ported down, used a potion of brawlers cunning + incarnation , opened with starsurge, proc'ed my solar eclipse. Then i used starfall, got a few casts down then i had to use renewal + reju. I used mighty bash to stun him for a couple of seconds and popped Nature's vigil/Celestial aligment , boom boom, boom. he had 300k hp left when my cd ran out so i used Typhoon to push them away and i was able to kill it pretty easily at that point. ( Recount dps for that was 91k dps)

This was quite a nuisance as an affliction lock. Ilvl 488.

Tried using a Grim of Sac harvest life build but found was I getting behind on adds too quickly even with that.

Tried using a combo of seed + harvest life, still no go.

Tried both above combos using Grim of Supremacy, Voidlord and Soul Link, getting progressively closer.

What finally worked was:

Grim of Supremacy, Void Lord, Soul Link. Used seed of corruption to clear birds, needing two seeds to clear each wave, so effectively casting a seed every second gcd and using the interim gcds to keep DoTs running on Yikkan.

Pre-potted, popped DS:M on the pull, used Unending resolve, Healthstone, and Mortal Coil (to interrupt screech).

Got 2 screeches, used Unbound Will on the 2nd since Mortal Coil was on CD.

Ended up being close but I got it :D

For a Shadow Priest. Start a fight with Halo cast to quickly kill first 4 ravens. Then apply dots on the boss and as soon as the ads spawn use Mind Sear to kill them. Do not use fears until the end of the fight! If you didn't kill 4 ravens before others spawned, and the boss has 25-30% healh you can fear them all and just burn the boss down. Hope that helps.

For Monks, Brewmaster is easier than any other class (although windwalker can apply same strategy with Spinning Crane Kick). Brewmasters just use Keg Smash on cooldown, and no other AoE abilities (for WW 1 spinning crane kick every ~8 seconds should do). As long as you hold to this the boss won't go past 4 stacks of enrage, and with expel harm/chi wave you'll be fine on hp. Just don't ever use Xuen, the aoe damage he'll do will probably make the boss enrage to ridiculous amounts and even a brewmaster won't survive.

Dit this as 498 ilevel brewmaster.

The trick I found as a dk is to not use a pet or army and just hb the adds as they spawn, He will not only summon 4 birds for you, but 4 birds for every enemy in the fight. So 4x army+ghoul+you. Ouch. Other than that, tank and spank.

Guest Retadin.

Did this with a fairly low ilvl (478) as a retpally with minimal buffs.

Essentials:

- Health potion (Brawler's or regular, doesn't matter)

- Lay on Hands at the ready

Recommended talents:

- Holy Prism

- Fist of Justice

The rest is pretty much all viable.

When Izu spawns, activate your burst macro and use Fist of Justice. Use Hammer of the Righteous to apply Weakened Blows since Izu does not cast spells, only summons, then proceed to DPS him. Whenever Izu summons birds, rotate between using Holy Prism on yourself and Divine Storm (one is sufficient to kill the summons). The trick with Holy Prism is that you can cast it upon yourself with 2 effects: healing yourself and radiating beams of damage (5 enemy targets maximum, in which Izu only summons 4 in one go). It deals a decent amount of damage - enough to actually kill the birds in one shot.

Tooltips:

- The rotation can get pretty messy, which is why I recommended the healing potion over the Potion of Brawler's Might and LoH. These provide instant heals (the latter is basically a second life, so use when near death)

- Using WoGs to heal is discouraged - you need them for divine storm! (see below)

- You need to pool your Holy Power such that you are able to kill the summons on the dot.

As a windwalker monk, although I am not fully geared, I found this fight extremely hard. I somehow got lucky that Blizzard has not fixed their glitch and went into the arena as soon as somebody finished their boss and I still got credit.

That's weird, the adds should go down really fast if you keep casting Chain Lightning on the boss (remember to equip Glyph of Chain Lightning).

Warriors, ignore Gankplank's above advice. This boss cannot be nuked down.

As a windwalker is used the potion of brawler's deftness at the start of the fight and i managed to get him down. I think the potion made easy to kill adds with spinning crane kick, with out it one would always survive.

**Shadow Priest 5.3** Every guide I followed failed horribly on Yikkan.

This is how I beat him on 07/13/2013 after literally 10 - 15 attempts.

I'm a 500ilvl Shadow Priest mostly pvp gear.

First you need to use Glyph of Psychic Scream (MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THIS FIGHT)

Spec Angelic Feather, Psyfiend Power Infusion and Divine Star

1. Now start the boss by using Mind Sear/Divine

This is miserably impossible for a shadow priest. Any tips?

Star to kill adds (kill them all)

2. When adds are down Mind Blast, SW:P, VT, MF boss until adds appear

3. Mind Sear adds again (kill them all)

4. He will cast Disorienting Shriek Silence this to interrupt

5. Adds spawn again, Mind Sear/Divine Star them (kill them all)

6. When adds are down Mind Blast, SW:P, VT, MF boss until adds appear

7. Mind Sear adds again (kill them all)

8. He will cast Disorienting Shriek cast Fear to interrupt

9. Adds spawn again, Mind Sear/Divine Star them (kill them all)

10. (BIG BURST) When adds are down use your on use trinket/Power Infusion/Shadow Fiend, then cast Mind Blast, Devouring Plague+Mind Flay Insanity and most importantly get one last Mind Blast off, you will need this to interrupt next Shriek with Psychic Horror

11. Mind Sear adds again (kill them all)

12. He will cast Disorienting Shriek cast Psychic Horror to interrupt

Rinse and repeat

Note: if you get to step 12 and silence isn't up use Psyfiend, this may cause problems as it splits up the adds and boss preventing you from killing the 4 ravens, when this happens you need to use Angelic feathers to kite the adds/boss as there will most likely be more than 5 ravens up, you can either kill all the adds if the boss still has a lot of health, he will enrage so you will need to use Dispersion, but if he is low health just kite everything with feathers and fear adds then attempt another Mind Flay Insanity burst on the boss.

Any helpful advise for mages is welcome also I am a ilv 525 full raid specced fire mage with almost 40% crit and I can't seem to get through the fight without a enrage happening.  I have tried numerous guides/ macros/specs all with no success.

This fight is pretty easy with a hunter. Just spec for as much dps as u can manage and burn him as quick as u can. keep pet off growl and burn through all your cds right away. try to interrupt him so you dont get stunned and just fuck the crows. I just run in circles and focus boss only and let the crows be. Bring some pots if you have to survive a bit longer.

Warrior Advice:

This fight is all about timing and execution. Biggest help: Keep Victory Rush mapped on your hotbar so each time a raven dies you can get a health boost.

I ignored the ravens and let my AoEs take care of them in groups of 2. Open with a charge but save your consumable for a Health Pot later on. Open with a thunder clap and Die By The Sword. Single target dps the boss, DBTS will cause the ravens to kill themselves. By the second set of ravens drop Bladestorm to kill them, third set pop Shield Wall and after that runs out Demoralizing Banner. Use TC and Cleave to keep the ravens manageable and snagging Victory Rush if you get low on HP.

If you find yourself dying too quickly from ravens switch to defensive stance and add intimidating shout, and then a heroic leap away followed by a charge to give you a little breathing room on those ravens. Make sure you kill them when they come back or you'll get a bigger enrage from too many dying at once.

as a Guardian druid, this fight is pretty straight up.
the most important thing is to never miss your skull bash to interupt his shriek, because when the ravens get our of control you wont be able to take it too well.
Aside from that you can just spam your mangle, thrash, swipe and maul buttons the whole time,
i advise glyphing maul, so you cn get the ravens down on an inequal fashion, making him never enrage..

Unlike some other hard fights, this fight actually doesnt require you to run your full dps rotation, and although you can pop berserk at the start as it will fill the same role as your thrash and swipe, it is not needed and youll most likely never see the enrage.

Therefore, thresh, swipe mangle and maul on cooldown, if you have a gap in the rotation (which you should have) just put on a stack of lace or refresh your fearie fire. just make sure to interupt. thats your no 1 priority.

What he said.  I am a BM hunter.  After dying at least six times trying to kill the ravens, I ignored them and killed the big bird right away.  Yay!

I swear this is currently bugged in WoD.
You kill the first 4 initial ravens and he enrages. Regardless of if you kill them in the 1st 2 secs of the fight because any others spawn.

This fight as changed. He enrages at 4 bird kills instead of 5. Basically kill one bird, wait for the buff to go away and kill the other 3. Rinse and repeat. Make sure to interrupt and win.

The buff is called Fallen Kin if you want to make a weak aura or ntk, etc.

The kiting strategy for WoD doesn't seem to work, the ravens fucked me up pretty badly as a BM Hunter.
