[Resto] Increasing my healing output

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

I've recently switched from Protection Warrior to Resto druid for my raiding group and I've been pugging a lot trying to gear up. I've received comments that my healing output should be higher on certain fights (i.e. Imperator). I've figured that I need to increase my lifebloom uptime (it's varying between 30% and 70% depending on the fights), so that's something I'll be keeping a close eye on. My harmony uptime is about 85%+, never lower I believe, so I'll be working a better WA to keep track of that as well. I need to change my weapon enchant (kind of a nub moment there where I confused the two enchants! :D)Is there another thing I need to work on?

I've tried to work with different talent (DoC/NV and SotF/Incarnation) but my healing stays relatively the same whichever I choose.

Armory: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/moon-guard/Cameleon/advanced

Logs: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/KFg9Xnj6JaMDvYqt# (H HM Pug)

1. Is my healing output too low considering my ilvl?

2. How to go about improving it (especially on Imp H).

Thank you for your time and help.

When looking at your armory page the first thought that came in to mind is that you need to fix your enchants as you are currently missing most of them. Personally i would get warsong echant instead of shadowmoon.

Also i found soul of the forest and rampant growth to give me a much higher healing output on most fights. Germination would just eat up my mana way too fast and i would be left with nothing for the last phase. Also i see that you used wild growth with your germination build. If you're going to play germination you should stick to using rejuvination. This is also one of the reasons i find SotF so useful it's the only reason to be using that ability as it increases it's healing by 50%. In my oppinion SotF and rempant growth is the best way to go.

As for my thoughts on your healing it is ok, altho little bit on the low side but not too much. I don't even remember my own output on imp anymore.

I find your grp setup to be kinda odd tho... you have 2 resto druids ( both germ build) and 2 holy priests. I would consider having atleast 1 of the priests going disc. If both of the druids go SotF you should have NO problem with AoE heals at all. My guild runs 2 druids 1 pally and 1 disc priest (fyi. disc priests are OP). That way we have 2 strong single target healers that worry about the tank so us druids can just goof around healing the raid and throwing ironbark at the tanks when needed. If we do a normal run we usually have 1 druid switching to dps because 4 healers is just waaaaaay too much. Also you guys should bring a few more dps. When we run 4 healers we bring 16+ ppl. I don't see how you would need 4 healers with only 12 ppl in the raid.

Do try to keep your lifebloom up at all times as the free regrowth never hurts. Also if you are not using it already i would strongly advice you to get VuhDo or Clique to make healing easier and faster.

Thanks. I wasn't in charge of the group to be honest, was a PUG. I've tried to go Rampant Growth + SotF. I'm not so sure about the rejuv being consume. Do you only use swiftmend when the rejuv is about to expire?

I'm using ElvUI with mouseover macro at the moment.

I've been running with Warsong until like last week where I switched to Shadowmoon; I'm incline to follow your advice there because I feel like I've got more problem with my mana now that I've switched to a spirit enchant.

Thanks for the tips.

      Hi Team
I am recently returning from a few years away from the game and I have decided to go back to my much loved main throughout wrath, the feral druid. I have always been a cut above the rest and managed to be top dps all through wrath.
I was reading your guide and noticed in the talents you don't take savage roar. Can you explain the match behind this as to me it seems like the more viable option.

Hello everyone! When i downloaded the recent shadowlands expansion, i noticed that my macros no longer worked =0. This is not a single target DPS  macro, this is a Help / Harm selective macro So i did some digging to find out what was goin on, An example of this would be : /cast [help] Innervate ; [harm] Entangling Roots ; Innervate.  This macro utilizes one button for a dual purpose. if i am targeted on friend i innervate them while if i and targeting a opponent it would root them in place. This structure is now broken but has also made things easier in most cases, After doing some digging i discovered some new macros and the new format. Some examples of the new way to write this would be :
       #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]innervate
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Entangling Roots
      #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]Regrowth
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Wrath
      #showtooltip
      /cast [harm,nodead][@target,harm,nodead]Moonfire
      /cast [help,nodead][@target,help,nodead]Rejuvenation
      #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]Wild Growth
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Entangling Roots
This is what they call a fall through macro, If the first line of code is not available because of a cooldown or if the Help or Harm selection, it will fall through to the next line of code. This works especially well for balance druids, shaman, and hybrid healing classes that use a ton of buttons. You can cut the amount of keys you need press in half which saves space and prevents accidentally pressings the wrong button. I like to pair my spells by the time it takes to cast, Instant casts with instant casts. They also introduces a mouse over macro for heals and rebuffs which is really good for world PVP. One of the better macros iv'e seen is a mouse over Rebirth :
       #showtooltip Rebirth
      /cast [@mouseover,help]Rebirth;Rebirth
      #showtooltip Remove Corruption
      /cast [target=mouseover,help,nodead][target=target] Remove Corruption

If you are going to try and make your own macro, you should keep in mind
1: The Global Cool Down or GCD which is the time it takes between 2 casts and
2: Not all of your spells and trinkets share a GCD, so you are able to cast 2 or 3 spells at the exact same time as long as it doesn't share a GCD.
      I hope this helps!
