Tier 17 Gear questions

Recommended Posts

I am just wondering how important the set tier bonus is.

As of now I have the set bonus from Ogreskull Boneplate Pauldrons and Gauntlets normal.

So what i am asking is it worth to give up the set bonus for a heroic or mythic non-tier piece, or is the bonus better than stats?

The bonus is worth more than stats in most cases.unless you'd be going from like normal to mythic on at least 2 pieces to sacrifice the set bonus.

It honestly depends on your spec

Unholy only really cares about 2 piece bonus

Frost gets a lot of help from the 4 piece bonus

Blood you can live without the 4 piece and even the 2 piece isn't that great.

In general though, the set bonuses for DKs in this tier are some of the weakest. DPS wise we get the lowest increase compared to the other classes and survival wise the blood set is underwhelming. So, if you get a high ilvl boost, or stat boost, by all  means break the set.

I agree with everything Demon said except the blood 2pc. I admittedly don't tank very often anymore, but I love the blood 2pc. it's a bit of a playstyle change because you need to start using vampiric blood on CD to really benefit. But the 2pc bonus will easily knock 20-30 seconds off the 1min VB cooldown on average. bringing your vampiric blood uptime from 16% up to closer to 30% +/-.
