He does run flamestrike(s) and deathbite(s) in heroic mode. Only just started going at this guy, so not really sure what other kinds of shenenigans can pull off...

He has at least 2 Flamestrike, I'm having a lot of trouble getting the entire deck for that guy. He also has 2 Abominations and 2 Unstable Ghouls, so that quickly takes care of silences.

I'll keep trying until I have all 30 cards (I must be at 22 now).

Okay, I almost have the Heroic decklist, only missing one card at this point. Not sure how to link cards properly, so i'll just list the names for now:

Flame Imp - x2
Leper Gnome - x2
Fiery War Axe - x2 (most likely)

Loot Hoarder - x2
Unstable Ghoul - x2
Flameheart - x4
Imp Gang Boss - x2
Axe Flinger - x2
Dark Iron Dwarf - x2
Death's Bite - x1
Abomination - x2
Dark Iron Skulker - x2
Fire Elemental - x2
Flamestrike - x2

Some of the cards I'm not 100% sure about, as I wasn't recording any footage and my attention span is generally lower than room temperature, but it seems to be accurate so far.
The deck doesn't seem to run any other minions, as far as i can tell, so unless there's some elusive BGH that evaded all my Thoughtsteals, the mystery card is either a third Win Axe (i think i saw it, but likely just kept a bad count), a fifth Flameheart (like he cares about any rules) or, the most logical option, the second Death's Bite, although I have survived the first one a few times and never saw the second.

Gotta say, he doesn't seem to love his wife a whole lot, waving that thing around. What a mad bastard...

Also, as of now the AI always makes a mistake of buffing Moira with DI Dwarf after she attacked (even if there are other minions around), which helps a little bit.

I dont have some of the good warrior cards though (most importantly shield slams), so I'm having trouble beating him still. I'm thinking some kind of a one-turn kill with priest may be the way out, to play around his 4 Flamehearts.
Getting a minion (turtle? lightspawn?) out and buffing it to 45 attack or so with double Divine Spirit + Inner Fire

Just a theory: You want to keep Moira alive. In order to do this, you have to work through unstable ghoul, abom etc. which's aoe would kill her, but you also need some tempo.

So, how about a Priest deck with Crazed Alchemist, and Silences in it?

In the worst case scenario, you can still heal Moira with your own Hero Power. Also, swapping Moira's attack on turn 2 considerably slows down the pace of the game. Then, you could include some high health minions and use the casual Inner Fire plus "make the minion's attack equal to its health" combo. :)

Just a theory: Crazed Alchemist

God, yes! Thank you, I already knew I should do the exact same thing, but with clockworks and spare parts; This would be so much easier, the OG Alchemist haven't even crossed my mind!

Upd: killed him on my second try with a pretty basic priest deck. It's far from perfect, but as long as you draw the combo, the rest of the deck doesn't matter too much. Only had 1 alchemist, it turned out; I'd gladly swap a shrinkmeister for another one, and probably add two Pains instead of Rivendare and one of the Lightspawns. Silences wouldn't hurt, but if Moira is at 3 (and since you can heal) they are not essential anymore. Lightwells\Cultists would probably work really well as well.

Its just so much easier than the warrior.

If someone asked me for a deck that worked, I'd probably come up with something like this. That's just my $0.02 anyway wink.png

I have his entire Heroic list, I came up with an awesome Priest deck to take him all the way to fatigue. It's so easy, it's ridiculous tongue.png I'll post it shortly.

So, here's the deck: https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/cheap-emperor-thaurissan-priest-deck-heroic-mode

It's pretty similar to the deck Kejim posted earlier and as such works in a similar way smile.png

I also updated the Thaurissan guide to include the complete card list (killed him with Fatigue with my Priest deck).

Turns out i was pretty much on the spothappy.png, though I never got even close to fatiguing him. Second Death's Bite, heh? The guy sure hates his wife. A logical last card though, as far as symmetry goes.

Any reason you skipped Crazy Alchemists, aside from making a deck with no neutral cards whatsoever? Seems really potent for this encounter; at turn 2 you're making Moira immune to all his AoE, plus effectively heal yourself for 2 each turn for the rest of the game.

I don't really have a reason. I made the deck and it turns out that by the time I was done with Priest cards, I had reached the 30-card limit, so I decided to give it a go and it worked so well, that I didn't really think of changing anything.

I managed to beat him on HC mode with this Priest deck. Fun thing is that after killing both him and he's wife Nafarian comes out and gives a comment like "Impressive adventurer, you managed to kill both dwarfs".

I liked the deck. Had my lightwell up on 45++ life but never did draw Inner Focus. Also PWS is pretty important if you go many rounds.

This is the cheapest deck I beat Heroic Emperor Thaurissan with.

To beat Thaurissan you have to protect Moira. Thaurissan himself will deal a lot of damage to her via Abomination, Unstable Ghoul and Death's Bite.
Simply buffing her health will not suffice, because her repetitive damage will kill you eventually. Playing taunts will kill Moira. There is no way to deal with this problem using only a basic deck.

Cheap Priest (160 Dust)
Difficulty: hard (may take more than 10 tries)
Inspiration:

Similar, yet more expensive deck: https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/cheap-emperor-thaurissan-priest-deck-heroic-mode

2x Silence
2x Holy Smite
2x Inner Fire
2x Northshire Cleric
2x Power Word: Shield
2x Voodoo Doctor
2x Acidic Swamp Ooze
2x Divine Spirit
2x Murloc Tidehunter
2x Shadow Word: Pain
2x Shadow Word: Death
2x Stormwind Knight
2x Gurubashi Berserker
2x Holy Nova
2x Boulderfist Ogre

The original idea was to use Crazed Alchemist to swap Moiras stats and buff her health to keep her safe from friendly fire. Instead I included different and cheaper cards, which will be similarly effective.
Use Inner Fire to debuff Moira, then buff her health with Power Word: Shield.
Silence Thaurissan's deathrattle minions, especially Abomination.
Use your several low-cost minions to fight for board control.
Use Voodoo Doctor as an emergency heal for Moira.
Use Acidic Swamp Ooze to destroy Death's Bite only, if Moira is out of danger!
Play Gurubashi Berserker on turn 5 and buff it with Divine Spirit later on.
Play Boulderfist Ogre on turn 6.
Be aware that Thaurissan will likely play Flamestrike on turn 7.

Cheerio,

Bob

Are you referring to our guides or the guy that posted above?

I don't think that the post is to be taken seriously as not a single one of all the decks posted in this thread features any BrM card.

With the coming of TGT I recommend using Power word:glory in the place of silence on the heroic mode of emperor thaurissan with priest. Moira will be healing you for 1 everytime she attacks.

Hey, thanks for the great info!

Beat the Emperor on Normal difficulty using your Mage deck after only one try....

I tried many times before this, but since I am now subject to the Mac no-deck-modification bug (this arose after the last HS update, about four-five days ago), it's impossible for me to modify my decks as I would like to.  So, I just deleted my entire Mage deck, and rebuilt it with your suggested list.

It worked great.  Keep up the good work!

Power Word: Glory and Convert are great options here. I beat him by taking a copy of his wife, buffing it with all the priest spells, then forcing her to slap her husband to death.

has this changed on normal mode? Im on 20 losses and 0 wins on normal mode using the basic mage deck you listed.....he fills the board with axe throwers so fast that you cant keep the board clear without killing yourself and if you try to go face on him he just clears your minions with his and has many more low cost cards it seems than your basic mage deck, his side of board is full by turn 6 every game.

You don't get free cards in expansions. This is why you are stuck with the same cards and decks. Also, none of the listed cards got nerfed. Additionally, adventure bosses don't change (except for Majordomo skip bug). The decks can stay the same because your opponent doesn't evolve with the meta. Last time I tried it worked.

If the deck doesn't work for you, try building your own by following the general tips (eg. no taunts, AoEs). Very strong class for this boss is priest with the new Power Word: Glory.

Are you sure it didn't change? He plays his AoE taunts back to back in rounds 2 and 3 so the board fills up before there are enough crystals to play the card to silence them. And the AoE taunts target anything that gets put down so I don't know how it's possible to build armor without them killing the female dwarf

Today, we're recapping the four Shaman cards revealed by Gamespot. We also have some dev clarifications on how they work.
If you missed our previous Warrior recap, you will find it here.

What a way to kick things off; this card looks insane! The dream is that Drakuru takes out two of your opponent’s minions, resurrects them on your side, and survives combat somehow. You’re looking at a 5-for-1 exchange on board.
In the more likely scenario that it doesn’t survive, that’s still a complete flip of the board state. Even if it’s trading into a single big minion on the opponent’s side, that’s still a 2-for-1, with that 1 on your side being a big tough-to-kill minion. The only worry is that there will sometimes be late-game scenarios where the 6/8 stat line won’t be enough to get you any resurrections, but I’m hopeful those are few and far between.
Still, even if the Big Shaman archetype doesn’t catch on for Shaman, I expect this card, in particular, to find a home in Renathal Control Shaman lists. This card is doing much of the same work that Sylvanas and Insatiable Devourer are without having to run through the trouble of infusing first.

Once again, another big expensive card and a solid showy effect to go along with it. Obvious deathrattle/reborn synergy, as well as good with big minions in general. At 10 cost, it will take up your entire mana pool for the turn, though there are things you can do to play around that as a shaman.
We’ve gotten some clarification from the devs on the mechanics of this one:
All the copies summoned die at the end of the effect trigger after having attacked. Unfortunately, it won’t be some corruption-style aura effect that a cheeky Showstopper effect can silence off. Your copies are made from your hand from left to right until no more board spaces are available. Beware that Colossals will summon their appendages and take up potential board space from your other copies. Windfury minions will only attack. Sorry Drakuru, no double freebies for you ? Minions that enter Dormant won’t attack, but they won’t die either! The interaction of getting free dormant minion copies on board is interesting, but is there enough to build a deck around? In standard, there is Gangplank, Slimescale, and Pelican Divers, but outside of From De Other Side “synergy,” they might not be worth it. In Wild, at the very least, there is meme potential with getting Magtheridion and The Darkness out with this and getting their battlecries to awaken both copies when you play them out the turn after.
There’s obvious synergy with the other big cards revealed here, with Prescience loading up your hand with some beefy bois, getting get off reborn, lifesteal and deathrattle value, summon a minion from Overlord Drakuru.

That’s a lot of keywords for a single card, but they work together to become the stuff of nightmares for any board-based aggro deck. Taunt and lifesteal make this a nightmare to trade into, and even with enough removal to clear the main body and the reborn one, the deathrattle effect still will hit for 3 twice and heal you for 6. So while the 3 attack won’t be anything to write home about, plopping this down will buy you a good deal of time. There’s also the possibility to make use of the leftover reborn 3/1 body to evolve into a 9 or 10 drop.

This card will get you 2 Mana 2/3 Ghostly Apparitions with the Undead minion type, which can matter for cards like Unliving Champion, or Invincible, for instance. Suppose you trigger the secondary ability here both times. In that case, that’s a pretty sweet deal right there, advancing a Big Shaman win con in 2 ways: The taunt on the Ghostly Apparitions advances your gameplan of stalling the game out until you can stabilize on board enough to play the 5+ Mana minions you’ve tutored out of the deck.
We’ve theory crafted 3 potential builds that can use this package of Shaman cards.
First, consider diving head first into the Big Shaman theme, bringing in Vanndar Stormpike and forgoing all other sub-5 cost minions to get max value out of Prescience and From De Other Side. We’re also going to run with the evolve subtheme to take advantage of any leftover bodies that we might get from Stoneborn General, Overlord Drakuru, or Blighblood Berserkers. The departure of the Knights of the Frozen Throne set will make evolving 10 drops better again now that there are no more Snowfury Giants in the Evolve pool, and we get to re-roll for the generally better bodies from the 10 costs. We’re adding in some early-game removal to compensate for the lack of early drops so we can better survive the early game.

      AAECAaoICunQBMORBKeNBK/ZBNnsA/rsA4qSBfuRBYfUBKrZBArG+QOs7QS12QTgtQS22QTblATGzgTj9gOGoQX4oAUA
Next, let’s try to use the standard Renathal Control Shaman archetype that’s doing rather well in the meta as a starting point. One safe idea is to look at slotting Overlord Drakuru and potentially Brightblood Berskerker and From De Other Side into this standard XL Renathal Control Shaman as ways of fighting back on board while getting your infuse cards stacked up.

We could instead also try and drop all the duplicates from the list and convert it into a Reno deck, as the deck was already playing a lot of one-offs. That gives us just enough room for one of each of these bad boys, which together with Reno will up the turnaround potential of the deck at the cost of a little bit of consistency. Doing so we can end up with this list:
      Deck code / link:
      AECAaoICunQBMORBKeNBK/ZBNnsA/rsA4qSBfuRBYfUBKrZBArG+QOs7QS12QTgtQS22QTblATGzgTj9gOGoQX4oAUA
Why not use both and make it a Reno-thal deck? Prescience and Windchill will try to compensate for the loss of card draw from droping one copy of Gorloc Ravager and Famished fool. We are adding in Convincing Disguise to have still enough evolve effects around. The idea of including Bracing Cold and Far Sight is to hopefully discount From De Other Side or the evolve cards so we make use of any leftover bodies in the same turn. Ozumat’s in here not just to get us up to 40 cards, but because it’s a near guaranteed board clear combo with From De Other side, if you manage your hand and board space just right, that leaves you with all its appendages afterward.
