Hi!

In all your builds you recommend the Paragon points priorities.

You usually say for the Core page to spend first on Strength/Dexterity and then on Life.

So what do i do?

When I reach 50 points in Strength, do I start putting on Life?

Or do I put on Strength all the way?

Question: The guide says to replace your mantra with Air Ally if you find the Crudest Boots, and to swap out Chant of Resonance for Unity for the extra damage, but how will you get the extra damage from Unity if you're not using a mantra?

Oh, good catch! I will correct this. In the place of this recommendation, keep the Chant and swap out Momentum for Unity, and replace Sweeping Wind in the active skills for Air Ally.

Is Taeguk still appropriate in the recommended gems section? It seems it's been deprecated on this patch.

The beginner guides are prime for revision, I'll be getting on that very soon! And your observation is correct, Taeguk has lost a bit of its position as a Monk staple, giving way to gems with less conditional triggers (Bane of the Stricken, Gogok of Swiftness, Esoteric Alteration, Bane of the Powerful).

The top of the guide refers to it being a WD guide, also there's no rune set on one of the skills at the top.

Thank you for the heads up, will be fixed asap.

..along with the suggested fix from "Guest Myzt" above, I would also just like to add that, gambling for (Req'd lvl 8/9 Boots), as suggested in your guide, with a level 1 Monk toon,  does NOT yield, Crudest Boots,..., or any other lvl 8/9 required boots. ?

In fact, I've spent over 2k in shards, and have got nothing but yellow(rare), and/or the blues. and yes even those are locked at higher lvl requirements, which is fine, but  but obviously useless.

I honestly had better luck, and gambled with much less shards, with my lvl 70 Monk, for Boots, Bracers.

Patch 2.4.2 has likely changed something here, can you verify and/or change your guide accordingly?

If not, then what did I miss ?  :)

Thanks.

...after reaching 70 (in seaosn 7), and,  even with this Raiment set, (and because of DS) it's a very "gear" dependent build, meaning without gear like the Shenlong set, Lefevre's, Spirit Guards, RoRG, ..., and sadly, the very laggy/later season 7 leg gems, ..., u aren't goin' anywhere, 'cause you'll have no spirit  for DMG,  unless you mix-n-match with Inna's (ally tanks) into a semi-supportive build, to makeup for the extremely high gear dependency, and CDR/Spirit dependency of this specific Raiment build, and beyond.

Maybe stick with the pre-70 skills/stats 'till you find ALL the req'd "dependent" gear.?

 ...sorry to say.

fab and a great help ty!

Just to point this out for you though:

5. Gems

Your armor and weapon sockets should be taken up by the highest tier Emerald gems you can afford at the time, while the helm is best filled by a Diamond gem for a boost to Cooldown Reduction. When you stumble upon jewelry with good primary stats and a socket, you should start dabbling into Legendary Gems. The Legendary Gems to consider for Demon Hunters

Are you able to finish up and get your 6-set? If not, I imagine you need to play to your gear's strengths. You're very durable, so run through the level and stack mobs for the biggest exploding palm you can. Take advantage of the Gungdo Gear! Cyclone strike could definitely help with stacking mobs.

@Blainie:

not yet.... but soon ;-)

forgot one item: The Crudest Boots (2. Mystic Ally)

what do you think:

- Crippling Wave

- Dashing Strike

- Mystic Ally (this one with the regeneration)

- Cyclone Strike

- Exploding Palm

- Mantra of Retribution

with:

- 4x Set

- Crudest Boots

- Gungdo Gear

Sorry i like to optimise. i know its not worth really, because soon i have the 6. piece of my set. But until then... ;-)

Hello again ;)

thanks for your answer... iam on T8+ atm, its running fine. Set is full, everything ok.

But: e.g. depth-diggers: the 100% damage effect of the trousers... how is that calculated?

1xxx% + 100% = 2000% = double damage

or:

1000% + 100% = 1100% = 10% more damage?

second or iam wrong? if second is true i think i should choose something else than depth diggers, 10% overall is not that much.

btw: thats the monk we are talking about: http://eu.battle.net/d3/de/profile/shAd-2781/hero/82795429
(call for objective criticism)

edit: Offtopic Question: But whats the best monk set atm in your opinion? Have the other sets nearly complete too (ranking set 1 > set 2 = set 3 > set 4?)

The Depth Diggers are multiplicative (as far as I know), which means it would double the damage of the generators.

I would say the Generator build using the Raiment and Shenlong sets is the best for solo pushing rifts. http://www.icy-veins.com/d3/monk-shenlong-raiment-build-patch-2-4-2-season-7

For group play, it will be the Inna's/Raiment support build. http://www.icy-veins.com/d3/monk-inna-support-build-patch-2-4-2-season-7

Dropping by to confirm Blainie's comment on the multiplicative nature of Depth Diggers. They will double the damage you deal with resource generating attacks.

Build recommendations are on point too. :) Ranking-wise, I'd probably say Raiment > Sunwuko > Inna = Uliana - but the latter three are really close, and only Raiment coming ahead with an advantage.

Glad to see that you got it, but for future users, yep. Your best bet is from Kadala, it's where I generally find mine each season!

hey guys i wanted to know if you guys can help me with my self made monk:  tempest rush build. this is my first time posting  but i really enjoy this build just need some help with tweeking it. this is how it is now:
to start you need the full sunwukoset and the legendary daibo: balance, also you need the sweeping wind belt kyoshiro's soul to make this work a little
further i am running with crudest boots for increased spirit regen and nemisis bracers becuase i dont know what else to use. rings i am also stuck with i just took the rings that had the best stats (dex, chc, chd) as far as gems go i have 3 max diamonds in my chest and 2 max emeralds in my pants i have 1 max amethyst in my helm for more life and ofc 1 max emerald in weopon . legendary gems i use are taeguk (for increased damage and toughness), gem of efficacious toxin for increased damage and redused damage taken. the thirt gem im not sure what to use so i wnet for mirnea teardrop of the starweaver for a bit of healing but im thinking bane of the trapped is way more effective.
in the cube im running with vengefull wind for more stacks of sweeping wind, mantle of channeling for increased damage and toughnessand convention of elements for that bit of extra damage.
      skills:
the main skill is tempest rush with the rune northern breeze cuz it reduce spirit cost and increase damage big time
im using blinding flash for more damage, the other skills are pure for spirit regen and defense: epiphany with desertshroud for more toughness mystic ally with air ally for spirit regen (doubles cuz of crudest boots), sweeping wind for regen and defense ( second set bonus of sunwuko), mantra of healing with boon of insiration als o for spirit regen.
the passives was kinda hard for me to choose so i went with: harmony cuz a monk cant survive without it exalted soul for more spirit regen, momentum for more damage becuase your always moving and determination also for more damage.
this is how it kinda looks i left the rings open cuz i dont know wich one to use: http://www.d3planner.com/117539347

Rainbow Portrait is coming to consoles with the patch that brings Seasons, The rest blue posts deal with The Barber, Juggernaut affix and the duration of the Darkening of Tristam event.
      Rainbow Portrait on Consoles
The rainbow portrait isn't currently available on consoles. The implementation of portraits will come with the patch that brings Seasons to consoles (Season 10 maybe). Until then, you can earn portraits through the Darkening of Tristam event.
      Nevalistis
So, with the 1.15/1.16 patch, will this portrait drop now on the consoles?
Sorry for the delay in response, but I had to do some digging on this one. On console, Sir William does not currently drop the Whimsyshire portrait. The reason why is because full portrait integration isn't actually active yet for the Ultimate Evil Edition on PS4/XB1, though a couple of portraits can be earned through the Darkening of Tristram event (see here for more information on that). Full integration will be coming with the patch where Seasons become available on console.

If this is something you guys would like to see in the future once portrait integration is in, I'll be happy to pass along that feedback to our console development team!

The Darkening of Tristam Event Duration
Another posts informs that the Darkening of Tristam event will last until the end of January and will return every January from here on out.
      Nevalistis
When does the Darkening of Tristram event end?
Just to confirm, The Darkening of Tristram event will last until the end of this month (January), and will return every January from here on out.

      The Barber Nerfs
A player has submitted photographic evidence that The Barber has been nerfed. Here's a blue post related to it.
      Tyvalir
I'm using it with a build I'm working on and I like it even though it's not doing insane amounts of godly damage like on the ptr.
Glad you're liking the revamped Barber! As more people play with this item, there will doubtless be interesting new builds they create that are worth trying out.

It's also worth noting that with the changes to certain items in patch 2.4.3, we've seen players talk about how these compare to the most powerful Legendary and Set items available in the game.

To clarify, our goal when updating Legendary items is to open up new build opportunities for players to explore. Along with this, it's important to note that not every item is designed to push the current best Greater Rift level. Some will be better for speed farming builds, and others will simply be a means to create fun novelty builds (like Manajuma's Way, for instance).

There's more than one way to compare an item's relative worth, and more than one way to incorporate it into various builds. Even so, I'm glad to see people trying the new items out and sharing their experiences. It helps, for sure!
Is it really not guaranteed elemental damage though?
As for the weapon not rolling the additional damage modifier, that does seem buggy - I will pass this on, and thanks for reporting it!
      (Source)
      Juggernauts in Greater Rifts
They now have lots of health and resistance to damage, intended? The information below was taken from the latest patch notes.
      2.4.3 Patch Notes - Juggernaut
Juggernaut New enemy affix Juggernaut monsters are permanently immune to crowd control effects, but move more slowly than normal monsters Along with this change, enemies with this affix take 30% more damage from all sources Only a rare Elite enemy can be a Juggernaut (Source)
There may even be a visual indicator for affixes on elites in the works!
      Tyvalir
OK I got it - immunity to cc means a whole bunch of procs that raise damage or debuff won't work.
Just wanted to clarify for those who haven't seen the new Juggernaut affix in-game or read our recent patch notes that this is correct. As with all enemy affixes, some will be easier for certain builds to handle while the inverse is true for others.

One of our goals when adding new enemy affixes is to broaden the types of enemy variety you see in the game and the kinds of challenges you'll face. This helps achieve both of those goals while (hopefully) encouraging you to think more tactically in certain cases as a CC-dependent character.
Damn! Will have to actually look at affixes now - it would be nice to have a visual indicator on the elite.
Totally fair feedback! I'm happy to pass this on and thanks for sharing it.
