New pet battle content is coming to World of Warcraft in Patch 6.2, and Blizzard has posted an overview of the new pets, quests, and more. The complete post is included here, along with some additional details.

Blizzard's original post is as follows:

As we continue to explore new territory in Draenor, it should come as no surprise that new battle pets and new battle pet rewards will be found. Thus far, Draenor has contained a great deal of diversity for pet battlers, and Patch 6.2 will be no different. Let’s take a look at some of what’s in store for your collection.

Please note: Spoilers are ahead! If you want to discover the new battle pets and rewards for yourself, don’t read any further!

Tanaan Stop Action

First and foremost, Tanaan Jungle is where the action can be found on all fronts. You will find battle pets of all types dotting the landscape, four of which are new and just waiting to be caught for the first time:

  • Bloodbeak
  • Cerulean Moth
  • Violet Firefly
  • Fen Crab

Keep an eye out for the new quest “A Fel Puppy of My Own”, through which you can acquire the delightful new Fel Pup.

Just delightful.

But the jungle doesn’t only provide garden-variety battle pets. If you look carefully, you’ll find that there are 15 fel-corrupted legendary pets scattered throughout Tanaan. Your Pet Battle Master in your garrison will have some new information for you to get started. You can only defeat any of these legendaries once per day, and when you do, you’ll receive a container of Fel-Touched Pet Supplies, which will include:

  • Gold
  • Pet Charms
  • Pet Bandages

And has a small chance to include:

  • A Fel-Touched Battle-Training Stone (single use, grants +5 pet levels)
  • One of these rare pets:
    • Periwinkle Calf
    • Zangar Spore
    • Seaborne Spore
    • Nightmare Bell

You can ring my Nightmare Bell. Ring my Bell.

We’ve also got a new achievement for you when you defeat all 15 legendary opponents in Tanaan Jungle.

You’re Too Charming

Patch 6.2 is going to introduce a new vendor to your level 3 Garrison Menagerie. Tiffy Trapspring and Giada Goldleash have been attracted to your impressive stash of Pet Charms, and want to take them off your hands in exchange for the following pets:

  • Dusty Sporewing
  • Bloodthorn Hatchling
  • Glowing Sporebat
  • Lost Netherpup

And the following toys:

  • Magic Pet Mirror
  • Indestructible Bone
  • Spirit Wand

And the Hunt Continues

A number of new battle pets coming to World of Warcraft with patch 6.2 can be found all over the worlds. Back home in Azeroth, adventurers will cheer when they find the non-combative Nethaera’s Light glowing in Dalaran. Meanwhile, two new fishing pets are turning up at the Darkmoon Faire. One is called Blorp (also a non-combat pet), and the other is the wondrous Ghostshell Crab.

Their shells are made of ghosts.

Even more pets have found their way to the fields of battle on Draenor. Look carefully, and you may find:

  • Crimsonwing Moth -- A rare spawn in Talador with many spawn points, and only one ever appearing in the zone at a time.
  • Sapphire Firefly – A rare spawn in Spires of Arak who also has many spawn points and appears only once at a time.
  • Cinder Pup – Available from a new Garrison mission in patch 6.2.
  • Corrupted Nest Guardian – Dropped by Shadow Lord Iskar in the new Hellfire Citadel raid.

Get a first look at all of the above by testing Patch 6.2 with us on the PTR. Please note that availability to test some PTR content may be limited to certain time frames. Learn more about the upcoming Patch 6.2 and how to participate on the PTR in our 6.2 PTR Patch Notes.

If you're thinking about getting started collecting, take a look at our Top 10 Must Have WoW Battle Pets list to make sure you have the right tools to get out there and collect these new critters.

Are there other pet battle features you're looking forward to in 6.2?

The Trial of Valor Mythic top 20 is done and Method's Final Boss interview is also here!

The Trial of Valor race is slowing down and the top 20 has formed! As Wowprogress doesn't track Chinese guilds the standings below are a little different, but the progress coverage over at Method.gg checked in with Chinese sources and made the rankings right:

Method, this time the guild, also had a big interview with Final Boss and talked about their No.1 spot, the split with Serenity and Legion in general:

Na'zak graces us with extra loot this week and also has the recipe for Rank 3 Potion of Prolonged Power.

It seems we get double World Bosses this week as Na'zak the Fiend has arrived in Suramar (on both US and EU servers). Blue posts confirm this is not a bug, but it also doesn't seem exactly intended (at least originally), as there was a bug where you could loot him multiple times that's already been fixed. Whether this is a new schedule of World Boss spawns that will give us more than one per week (or a chance at more than one) hasn't been announced so it might just have been one of those things that slipped through the cracks.
Edit: And here's further confirmation, making it sound like this particular boss was special.
In any case, he drops Rank 3 of Recipe: Potion of Prolonged Power as well as:
Avalanche Resistant Legplates Dessicated Leather Pants Leystone Nugget Loop of Polished Pebbles Mana-Dowsing Ring Na'zak's Dusty Pantaloons Venomscarred Chain Leggings

Hello, so I started playing DK at the launch of legion, and have enjoyed it so far. I was initially unholy but then changed to frost recently, and am enjoying both specs except for one thing, namely my performance. So there are three frost DK's in my raid and lately the other two are always towards the top of the meter while I'm towards the bottom. There is no large gear difference (I think they both have a couple ilvls on me, but I have the legendary belt), so I was wondering what I was doing wrong. Upon looking at logs I found they both casted significantly more spells than me on all fronts (FS, obliterate, etc.). I also noticed that I need to keep icy talons up more, but can someone tell me why I'm casting so many fewer spells than them (there is no large haste difference, the armory has us all at 30something% haste, even though one of them (Hungerghost) and I only have 20something, and I'm sure the same applies to the other DK), or if there is some other problem, then what is it and how can I fix it? Thanks.

A reddit user shared some highlights of his exploration of Vanilla, TBC and WotLK using a variety of tricks.

A lot of us who've played Vanilla at some point went and visited Hyal by suiciding through the inactive raid portal, but there were other ways to creatively explore the world around as well. Redditor jarrodnb recently remembered his time in TBC/early WotLK and how he would use the jump bug (where you wouldn't fall off a slope, regardless of how steep it was, if you timed it just right), among other things, to take a look at some of the less often seen vistas and quite a few secrets hidden away behind terrain (remember, at the time you could only fly in Outland, so a lot of these vantage points may seem normal to you, but were very special back then).
There's a whole album of his exploits (both in the "game breaking" and  the "interesting things he did" sense) and you should really give it a look, as it has interesting comments about the zones and how he got there and plays out like one big story. Here are some highlights:

"I had always wondered where Nightbane was before he flew onto the balcony"

"Next up, I had heard about the early "outland" hidden away in VC."

"Looks like an early version of Howling Fjord is tucked away inside UK. I can't believe how many secrets are hidden away inside the instanced versions of dungeons"

"I eventually worked up the courage to actually explore GM island, so I busted out my old "bridge" file. One of my "mates" said in "type /who gm island" in trade chat, I was spammed with randoms asking how I got there. I quickly logged off in terror."

Big thanks to jarrodnb for sharing (part of) his exploration journey and reminding us of our own exploration attempts (even if it was just swimming around the edges of the continents)!
