Multistrike vs. Haste

Right now, I'm running combat for multi target fights and switching to sub for single target fights. I've read that Multistrike overtakes Haste for combat at multiple targets, but it's unclear what that break point is. Some say 2, others say 4. 

 

I'm wondering if it's worth just going full on multi strike for combat since I'm only using it for 2+ targets?

I  can't remember the number or find the post where I read Fiery's theorycrafting on the subject, but iirc the situations where Multistrike outvalues Haste are very slim due to the number of adds required

 

Additionally, since high numbers of adds tend to get cleaved down really quickly, there's very little point in trying to gear differently just for those situations.
