Naxxramas Heroic F2P Guide (0 dust!)

Recommended Posts

Hi there, my name is Bob.
I successfully cleared the Heroic mode of the Naxxramas adventure with the cheapest decks possible: all 100 % free to play, no dust required. Of course: If you can play the Naxxramas Heroic Mode, I will assume you already have all Naxxramas cards.
I also posted my decks in the respective threads here on Icy Veins, added links to my sources of inspiration and some advice for all people, who are as insane as me and want to achieve the same – or who simply do not have the cards to try more expensive decks.
Have fun reading and maybe even trying some of these decks on your own.

Cheerio,
Bob

Anub'Rekhan
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/anub-rekhan-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

Anub'Rekhan's Hero Power creates overwhelming value, if he uses it every turn, since fair trading is nearly impossible against it.
Anub'Rekhan has 3 Locust Swarm (7 mana), which will kill anything beneath 4 health. So deal with his minions as efficiently as you can and try to only have minions with at least 4 health on the board after turn 7.

F2P Mage (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries)

1x Arcane Missiles
2x Mirror Image
2x Frostbolt
2x Arcane Intellect
2x Frost Nova
2x Ironfur Grizzly
2x Chillwind Yeti
2x Fireball
2x Polymorph
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Water Elemental
2x Gurubashi Berserker
2x Archmage
2x Lord of the Arena
2x Flamestrike
1x Kel'Thuzad

Deal with Anub'Rekhan's minions using Frost Nova and then getting rid of them all at once: Flamestrike. This way you can clear the opponent's hand completely, so that he can only play 1-2 minions per round. Then you will finally be able to fight for the board on almost fair conditions.
Your ideal turns will look somewhat like this:
Turn 1: Mirror Image.
Turn 2: Frostbolt.
Turn 3: Ironfur Grizzly.
Turn 4-5: Sen'jin Shieldmasta, Chillwind Yeti, Water Elemental.
Turn 6: Frost Nova.
Turn 7: Flamestrike.
Following turns: Gurubashi Berserker, Lord of the Arena, Archmage.
Always kill Deathlord, never Polymorph it to use its deathrattle to your advantage.
Kill Abomination before Flamestrike to clear the board more easily. Polymorph it after Flamestrike to protect your board.
There is a bug concerning Kel'Thuzad and taunts: If they are on the board at the same time, the AI will not attack with minions or weapons, removal spells will be the only danger.

Grand Widow Faerlina
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/grand-widow-faerlina-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

Play around Faerlina's Hero Power by mulliganing for cheep cards and keeping your hand clear.
Avoid minions with low health, so they will not be killed by Rain of Fire or Inner Rage.
Get rid of Faerlina's Worshipper as soon as possible.

F2P Warlock (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries)

2x Mortal Coil
2x Soulfire
2x Voidwalker
2x River Crocolisk
2x Succubus
2x Dalaran Mage
2x Drain Life
2x Ironfur Grizzly
2x Shadowbolt
2x Shattered Sun Cleric
2x Wolfrider
2x Chillwind Yeti
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Darkscale Healer
2x Gurubashi Berserker

Mulligan for Voidwalker, River Crocolisk and Succubus.
The discarding effects of Soulfire and Succubus are not bad in this match because of Faerlina's Hero Power.
Use Soulfire, Succubus, Shadowbolt and Wolfrider to kill Worshippers as soon as possible.
Use Shattered Hand Cleric to buff Ironfur Grizzly, Wolfrider or Sen'jin Shieldmasta to kill Worshippers.

F2P Druid (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries)

2x Innervate
2x Moonfire
2x Claw
2x Mark of the Wild
2x Wild Growth
2x Healing Touch
2x Ironfur Grizzly
2x Wolfrider
2x Savage Roar
2x Chillwind Yeti
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Stormwind Knight
2x Swipe
2x Starfire
2x Ironbark Protector

Mulligan for Innervate and Wild Growth.
Use Moonfire, Claw, Wolfrider, Stormwind Knight and Swipe to kill Worshippers as soon as possible.
Use Mark of the Wild to buff Stormwind Knight, Chillwind Yeti and Wolfrider.
Use Starfire to kill Necroknight.
Play Ironbark Protector and you will likely have won the match.

Maexxna
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/maexxna-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

Maexxna sends back two of your minions on the start of her turn. Exploit this by only playing two minions at once, which have healing or damaging battlecries or charge.
Maexxna has a lot of low damage minions. Let her fill her board with 1-attack minions and ignore them, while you take advantage of her Hero Power.
Useful in this fight are weapons, healing and damage spells as well as means of dealing with high damage minions.
Easy mode: This fight becomes almost ridiculously easy, if you put Antique Healbot in your deck.

F2P Paladin (0 Dust)
Difficulty: easy (may take up to 5 tries)

2x Blessing of Might
2x Elven Archer
2x Humility
2x Light's Justice
2x Stonetusk Boar
2x Voodoo Doctor
2x Bluegill Warrior
2x Holy Light
2x Novice Engineer
2x Wolfrider
2x Consecration
2x Hammer of Wrath
2x Truesilver Champion
2x Reckless Rocketeer
2x Guardian of Kings

Mulligan for Stonetusk Boar, Elven Archer, Light's Justice and Voodoo Doctor.
Kill Dire Wolf Alpha on sight as well as anything else with more than 1 attack.
You can use Humilty to pacify the last minions Maexxna plays.
Only equip Truesilver Champion, if Maexxna's board is full, to be safe from Acidic Swamp Ooze.
Turn 4: Consecration. Kill 3-4 Haunted Creepers and fill the enemy board with 1-attack-minions. If there is a Nerubian Egg, have Humility ready.
Turn 7: Guardian of Kings. Combine it with Bluegill Warrior/Wolfrider and Voodoo Doctor from then on to heal yourself and slowly kill Maexxna.
As soon as Maexxna has filled her board, it may be necessary to clear your hand and draw some more damage cards. Flood the board with cheap cards like Stonetusk Boar, Elven Archer, Bluegill Warrior and Novice Engineer to empty your hand and hopefully fill it with more valueable cards.

Noth the Plaguebringer
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/noth-the-plaguebringer-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

Noth's Hero Power is comparable to Anub'Rekhan's as it is capable of producing an army of strong minions, here even for no mana. However, your minions have to die for this army to grow. So reduce your minion losses to an absolute minimum to avoid creating 5/5 Skeletons.
Playing taunts is not advised, because of The Black Knight. In combination with Noth's Hero Power the tempo loss would be irreparable.
Noth plays Duplicate, Counterspell and Ice Block. Try to trigger Duplicate by killing Undertaker, Unstable Ghoul and Mad Scientist, avoid Skeletal Smith, Abomination, Necroknight and Spectral Knight. Put cheap and less impactful spells into your deck to trigger Counterspell. Secrets played in the early turns from Noth's hand have a high propability of being Duplicate.
Exploit Necroknight's deathrattle to kill two adjacent minions, ideally Spectral Knight and Skeletal Smith. Exploit Abomination's and Unstable Ghoul's deathrattle to kill 2-3-health minions.
Noth's only removal spell is Mortal Coil. So never have minions with 1 HP on the board.
The biggest problem in this fight is Plague, which Noth even will play against a single minion, if it becomes a big enough threat (e. g. If buffed). Try to play around it by having only one big minion on the board and killing his minions using removal spells. Once Noth played one or both Plagues, you can play all minions you want and hope, it is not to late.

F2P Mage (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries, but the fights will last quite long)

2x Arcane Missiles
2x Mirror Image
2x Arcane Explosion
2x Frostbolt
2x Arcane Intellect
2x Frost Nova
2x Fireball
2x Polymorph
2x Darkscale Healer
2x Gurubashi Berserker
1x Loatheb
2x Archmage
2x Boulderfist Ogre
2x Flamestrike
2x Stormwind Champion
1x Kel'Thuzad

Because of the similarity of Noth and Anub'Rekhan you can use a similar deck.
Mulligan for Archmage and Flamestrike. Your first turns will be quite passive anyway.
Turns 1-5: Control the board only using spells and Hero Power. Use Missiles, Explosion and Intellect to test Noth's secrets for Counterspell.
Turn 6: Play a minion, preferably Archmage.
Turn 7: Flamestrike. Noth then will likely play Plague, if he has it in his hand. Lure at least one, before you play more minions.
If both Plagues are played, you can safely play Kel'Thuzad+Mirror Image to secure the win.

Heigan the Unclean
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/heigan-the-unclean-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

Heigan's Hero Power is easy to deal with: Put a minion with at least 4 HP to the left and suck up the regular damage.
Heigan does only have some 1-4 damage spells and he mostly ignores your minions except he can kill them easily.
Once Heigan's hand is empty and you have a durable minion on the left side of your board you have basically won.

F2P Priest (0 Dust)
Difficulty: easy (may take up to 5 tries)

2x Holy Smite
2x Northshire Cleric
2x Power Word Shield
2x Divine Spirit
2x Nerubian Egg
2x Shadow Word: Pain
2x Dalaran Mage
2x Shadow Word: Death
2x Shattered Sun Cleric
2x Oasis Snapjaw
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Darkscale Healer
2x Gurubashi Berserker
2x Holy Nova
2x Boulderfist Ogre

Mulligan for Holy Smite, Shadow Word: Pain and Shadow Word: Death.
Kill Voidcaller on turn 2 and have a Shadow Word: Death ready or hope for a weak demon.
Put Nerubian Egg to the left and be safe from Heigan's Hero Power for three turns.
Put Sen'jin Shieldmasta to the right of your board to avoid the regular damage and instead suck up damage from Heigan's minions.

F2P Warlock (0 Dust)
Difficulty: easy (may take up to 5 tries)

2x Sacrificial Pact
2x Mortal Coil
2x Soulfire
2x Kobold Geomancer
2x Murloc Tidehunter
2x Nerubian Egg
2x Drain Life
2x Shadowbolt
2x Shattered Sun Cleric
2x Dragonling Mechanic
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Darkscale Healer
2x Gurubashi Berserker
2x Boulderfist Ogre
2x Stormwind Champion

Mulligan for Soulfire, kill Voidcaller on turn 1 and hope for a weak demon.
Put Nerubian Egg to the left and be safe from Heigan's Hero Power for three turns.
Put Sen'jin Shieldmasta to the right of your board to avoid the regular damage and instead suck up damage from Heigan's minions.

Loatheb
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/loatheb-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

Loatheb's Hero Power will regularly damage your hero and requires you to play very cheap minions to make this fight as short as possible.
There is a Spore and a Fen Creeper on the board, which must die as soon as possible to reduce the damage to your hero.
Destroy Spores with spells, charge or battlecries to buff your minions, when your board has at least 3-4 minions still able to attack.
Loatheb has 4 1-damage board clears and 4 4-damage removals. That is why it is better to buff several minions with at least 2 HP.

F2P Priest (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries)

2x Elven Archer
2x Goldshire Footman
2x Holy Smite
2x Northshire Cleric

2x Acidic Swamp Ooze
2x Bloodfen Raptor
2x Bluegill Warrior
2x Haunted Creeper
2x River Crocolisk
2x Shadow Word: Pain
2x Razorfen Hunter
2x Ironforge Rifleman
2x Holy Nova

Mulligan for Elven Archer, Stonetusk Boar, Northshire Cleric, Holy Smite and Shadow Word: Pain.

F2P Shaman (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries)

2x Elven Archer
2x Frost Shock
2x Rockbiter Weapon
2x Stonetusk Boar
2x Bloodfen Raptor
2x Bluegill Warrior
2x Flametongue Totem
2x Frostwolf Grunt
2x Haunted Creeper
2x Windfury
2x Hex
2x Ironforge Rifleman
2x Ironfur Grizzly
2x Wolfrider
2x Windspeaker

Mulligan for Elven Archer, Stonetusk Boar and Frost Shock.

Instructor Razuvious
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/instructor-razuvious-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

Razuvious has a ridiculously overpowered weapon, which he should not even once be able to use against your hero. Use lots of taunts to keep it at bay.
He also has an absurdly strong Hero Power, dealing 4 damage for 1 mana. It will mostly focus on the biggest threat on your board, not necessarily your taunts.
Use Mind Control Crystal to steal his 2 starting taunt minions on turn 2 (turn 3, if Razuvious played The Coin already). This way you have a chance of profiting from a Master Swordsmith's buff.
Exploit Necroknight's deathrattle to kill two adjacent minions, ideally Spectral Knight and Spiteful Smith.
Having a strong board is required against Razuvious' weapons, Hero Power and minions, but can backfire, when he draws his 2 Brawl.

F2P Mage (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries)

2x Arcane Missiles
2x Mirror Image
2x Acidic Swamp Ooze
2x Frostbolt
2x Arcane Intellect
2x Frost Nova
2x Frostwolf Grunt
2x Ironfur Grizzly
2x Fireball
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Water Elemental
2x Gurubashi Berserker
2x Sludge Belcher
2x Lord of the Arena
1x Flamestrike
1x Kel'Thuzad

Mulligan for Frostbolt, Frostwolf Grunt and Acidic Swamp Ooze.
Kel'Thuzad+Mirror Image will not secure the win in this fight because of Razuvious' Hero Power. But it will give you card advantage, if you can trade minions. Beware of Brawl!

F2P Priest (0 Dust)
Difficulty: hard (may take more than 10 tries)

2x Mind Vision
2x Northshire Cleric
2x Power Word: Shield
2x Acidic Swamp Ooze
2x Deathlord
2x Divine Spirit
2x Frostwolf Grunt
2x Shadow Word: Pain
2x Ironfur Grizzly
2x Shadow Word: Death
2x Chillwind Yeti
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Gurubashi Berserker
2x Sludge Belcher
1x Lord of the Arena
1x Kel'Thuzad

Mulligan for Goldshire Footman, Mind Vision and Acidic Swamp Ooze.
Buff and heal your taunts to 5+ or 10+ HP to be out of reach for Unbalancing Strike.
Bug exploit: If you buff Deathlord with Divine Spirit twice, Razuvious will not attack it with Runeblade but only with minions. Still beware of The Black Knight!

Gothik the Harvester
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/gothik-the-harvester-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

Quickly kill Gothik's Unrelenting minions to transform them into Spectrals, thus reducing their damage to 1.
Use attack buffs on your mischievous Spectrals and trade them – at best rather inefficiently!
Filling your board with minions will keep the Spectrals from spawning on your side (beware of Abomination).
Aim to simply survive the minion attacks and Gothik will most likely die to fatigue.

F2P Paladin (0 Dust)
Difficulty: easy (may take up to 5 tries)

2x Blessing of Might

2x Blessing of Kings
2x Consecration
2x Dragonling Mechanic
2x Hammer of Wrath
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Truesilver Champion
2x Guardian of Kings
2x Stormwind Champion

F2P Druid (0 Dust)
Difficulty: easy (may take up to 5 tries)

2x Innervate
2x Moonfire
2x Claw
2x Mark of the Wild
2x Unstable Ghoul
2x Deathlord
2x Healing Touch
2x Ironfur Grizzly
2x Raid Leader
2x Savage Roar
2x Poison Seeds
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Swipe
2x Sludge Belcher
2x Starfire

Heroic Baron Rivendare

The difficulty of this fight lies in Rivendare's board control provided by his minions and various spells. Killing 1-2 Horsemen very quickly with your own spells will be absolutely mandatory.
Once you start playing minions, you will have to sustain a lot of removal spells. Do not count on the survival of your minions.
Easy mode: Put any silence effect into your deck. If you silence the last Horseman, Rivendare's weapon will never get buffed and he will be attackable immediately.

F2P Priest (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries)

1x Holy Smite
2x Mind Vision
2x Northshire Cleric
2x Power Word: Shield
2x Voodoo Doctor
2x Zombie Chow
2x Acidic Swamp Ooze
2x Mind Blast
2x Shadow Word: Pain
2x Unstable Ghoul
2x Deathlord
2x Ironfur Grizzly
1x Shadow Word: Death
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Holy Nova
2x Sludge Belcher

Mulligan for Mind Vision, Zombie Chow, Shadow Word: Pain and Acidic Swamp Ooze.
Play around the secret Repentence by playing low-HP minions.

Patchwerk
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/patchwerk-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

There are „only“ two problems in this fight: Patchwerk's weapon and his Hero Power. Simply playing taunts will not suffice, because Patchwerk's hero power can remove them easily. So you also have to freeze Patchwork, at best regularly.

F2P Mage (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries)

2x Goldshire Footman
2x Mirror Image
2x Acidic Swamp Ooze
2x Frostbolt
2x Frostwolf Grunt
2x Unstable Ghoul
2x Deathlord
2x Duplicate
2x Ironfur Grizzly
2x Silverback Patriarch
2x Fireball
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Water Elemental
2x Booty Bay Bodyguard
2x Sludge Belcher

Mulligan for Goldshire Footman, Frostbolt and Acidic Swamp Ooze.
Coin out your Ooze on turn 1: Patchwerk can only reequip his weapon on turn 3.
Play a taunt each turn, especially on the turn before Patchwerk's weapon runs out or you destroy it with Acidic Swamp Ooze. This way he cannot use Hateful Strike (4 mana) and equip his new weapon (3 mana) on the same turn.
Note: Acidic Swamp Ooze will be useless on turn 2 and from turn 7 on, as Patchwerk then will always have enough mana for his weapon (3) and his Hero Power (4).
You have to play Water Elemental and 1-2 taunts on turn 5 to win this game.
Your ideal turns will look somewhat like this:
Turn 1: Coin and Acidic Swamp Ooze or Frostbolt.
Turn 2: Taunts or Frostbolt.
Turn 3: Single taunts will not change a thing because of Hateful Strike. Instead: Frostbolt or Duplicate. If you have no taunts on your board, it will copy Acidic Swamp Ooze!
Turn 4: 1-2 taunts or Frostbolt.
Turn 5: Water Elemental and Mirror Image or Goldshire Footman.
Turn 6+: Any taunt.

Grobbulus
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/grobbulus-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

Grobbulus' Hero Power deals 2 damage to all of your characters and summons 2/2 Slimes for each of your minions that dies to his Hero Power.
Plan your turns with Grobbulus' Hero Power in mind: Losing your minions to trading is better than leaving a minion with less than 3 HP on the board, thus spawning a Slime for Grobbulus.
This fight can be quite annoying depending on the number of Mutating Injections, Spectral Knights and Heroic Strikes Grobbulus draws.

F2P Priest (0 Dust)
Difficulty: hard (may take more than 10 tries)

2x Holy Smite
2x Mind Vision
2x Northshire Cleric
2x Power Word: Shield
2x Bluegill Warrior
2x Divine Spirit
2x Shadow Word: Pain
2x Deathlord
2x Shadow Word: Death
2x Nerubian Egg
2x Sen'jin Shieldmasta
2x Darkscale Healer
2x Gurubashi Berserker
2x Holy Nova
2x Sludge Belcher

Mulligan for Northshire Cleric, Holy Smite and Nerubian Egg.
Having a Nerubian on turn 3 will allow you to kill Dancing Swords easily. The 2/2 Slime+card draw is better than the 4/4 Sword.
Buff Deathlord's HP, put a Gurubashi Berserker next to it and keep both alive using Holy Novas and Darkscale Healers.
Try to copy a Mutating Injection using Mind Vision and buff Deathlord.

Gluth
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/gluth-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

Gluth's Hero Power will reduce the HP of all your minions to 1, so it will be best to use minions with low health.
Kill Zombie Chows specifically to replenish your health. Rule of thumb: If they are alive for 3 turns, their deathrattle will no longer be an advantage. Try to use the deathrattles of Unstable Ghoul, Abomination and Necroknight to kill them.
You absolutely need to destroy Gluth's weapons. Hope that 2 of the 4 are at the bottom of Gluth's deck, otherwise it will be hard to sustain the damage.
Do not play to many minions at once, because of Abomination and Unstable Ghoul. Your minions should be able to deal 4 damage to kill Abominations.
Both your hands will be empty pretty soon, once you survived the first 5-6 six rounds. It then will be pure topdeck luck to beat Gluth.

F2P Paladin (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries, but the fights will last quite long)

2x Blessing of Might
2x Goldshire Footman
2x Hand of Protection
2x Humility
2x Voodoo Doctor
2x Acidic Swamp Ooze
2x Holy Light
2x Ironfur Grizzly
2x Magma Rager
2x Wolfrider
2x Blessing of Kings
2x Consecration
2x Hammer or Wrath
2x Truesilver Champion
2x Guardian of Kings

Mulligan for both Acidic Swamp Oozes.
Use Humility on Necroknight to disable the biggest threat. Then kill it as soon as its deathrattle will destroy Spectral Knight and Spiteful Smith.
Always protect Magma Rager with a taunt.

Thaddius

Thaddius' Hero Power will always switch health and attack values of all minions on the start of his turn. You can use damage against Thaddius' minions to weaken their attack next turn.
You need a perfect starting hand to kill Feugen & Stalagg as soon as possible and then the right means to clear the board. It could take some tries.
Thaddius has a lot of 2-/3-damage spells which will make it hard to establish board control. But Thaddius will also deliberately waste Lightning Storm on single minions, if he otherwise would lose minions.

F2P Priest (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries)

2x Goldshire Footman
2x Holy Smite
2x Power Word: Shield
2x Zombie Chow
2x Nerubian Egg
2x Shadow Word: Pain
2x Dark Cultist
1x Deathlord
2x Ironfur Grizzly
2x Shadow Word: Death
1x Raid Leader
2x Chillwind Yeti
Feugen&Stalagg
2x Holy Nova
2x Sludge Belcher
1x Stormwind Champion
1x Kel'Thuzad

Mulligan for Goldshire Footman, Holy Smite, Zombie Chow, Nerubian Egg and Shadow Word: Death.
After killing Feugen and Stalagg asap you have to keep minions on the board. Board control is the only way to win this fight.
In this fight heals and health buffs actually are attack buffs. If you do not heal a damaged minion, because of the swapping its stats will be reduced forever.
Buffing your minions with Raid Leader or Stormwind Champion will result in a bug: Each time stats are switched your minions will gain additional +1 stats. Reaching turn 8 with Stormwind Champion on your board means, you are winning.
Because Feugen and Stalagg already are on the board, playing your own versions will give you the chance on your own 1 or 2 versions of Thaddius.
Having Kel'Thuzad next to a taunt will seal the game as well.

F2P Warlock (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries)

2x Corruption
2x Mortal Coil
2x Soulfire
2x Voidwalker
2x Zombie Chow
2x Nerubian Egg
2x River Crocolisk
2x Unstable Ghoul
2x Drain Life
2x Shadow Bolt
2x Chillwind Yeti
1x Deathlord
Feugen&Stalagg
2x Sludge Belcher
2x Stormwind Champion
1x Kel'Thuzad

Mulligan for Corruption, Mortal Coil, Soulfire, Voidwalker, Zombie Chow and Nerubian Egg to kill Feugen and Stalagg asap.
After killing Feugen and Stalagg asap you have to keep minions on the board. Board control is the only way to win this fight.
Buffing your minions with Stormwind Champion will result in a bug: Each time stats are switched your minions will gain additional +1/+1.

Sapphiron
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/sapphiron-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

Sapphiron's Hero Power will destroy any attempt of building up board presence.
This is the hardest fight for any F2P-deck as it is a permanent fight for board control and a damage race at the same time. You have to be very lucky using only a basic deck. Especially hope for the appropriate cards (as always), optimal minion positioning (Necroknight) and no Pure Cold.

F2P Warrior (0 Dust)
Difficulty: medium (may take up to 10 tries, but the fights will last quite long)

2x Execute
2x Whirlwind
2x Cleave
2x Fiery War Axe
2x Heroic Strike
2x Nerubian Egg
2x Charge
2x Magma Rager
2x Shield Block
2x Wolfrider
2x Death's Bite
2x Kor'kron Elite
2x Arcanite Reaper
Feugen & Stalagg
2x Reckless Rocketeer

Mulligan for Fiery Waraxe, Cleave and Wolfrider.
Combine Magma Rager and Charge to kill Necroknight.
Warrior's weapons and charge minions could kill Sapphiron by turn 8 (with a perfect draw), as Sapphiron has only 45 HP. However, by turn 8 Sapphiron's minions will likely have killed you already, and Sapphiron is able to freeze you.
That is why you have to try to summon 2 copies of Thaddius on turn 10. Assuming you achieve this, you will only have to deal 23 damage to Sapphiron's face using weapons.
Sapphiron has Blizzard, which he only uses while you still have a minion on the board he cannot kill otherwise. Since he destroys any of your minions on the start of his turn, he will almost always be able to use Blizzard against a newly spawned Thaddius. Avoid this by playing Nerubian Egg on an empty board to lure Blizzard beforehand. You can tell it is in Sapphiron's hand, when he has at least 5 mana left and does not spend it on his remaining card (his most expensive card beside Blizzard only costs 5 mana).

Kel'Thuzad
https://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/kel-thuzad-guide-for-the-curse-of-naxxramas

In phase 1 Kel'Thuzad's main damage source is his 3 damage Hero Power, which will always hit your hero. You can let your health drop to 10, while you fight for the board.
The minions Kel'Thuzad plays will be only minor threats, except Abomination and Spectral Knight.
Once his shield of 20 HP is down (or when 10-15 turns are played), phase 2 will start. When this happens, Kel'Thuzad will end your turn by force, so use up all your mana and try to deal as much damage as possible with a single blow while his shield is at 1 HP.
Consider: Twisting Nether costs 8 mana and Kel'Thuzad will use it, if he has no minion on the board on turn 8. Destroying his shield will spawn 2 5/5 Taunts. So destroying the shield/entering phase 2 on your turn 8 will prevent a board clear.
Deal damage to Kel'Thuzad while keeping one or two of his low-damage minions the board (Zombie Chow, Acolyte of Pain or Stoneskin Gargoyle, not counting mind controlled totems!) to further prevent Twisting Nether.
In phase 2 Kel'Thuzad's hero ability will change from Frostblast to Chains, mind controlling your minions completely at random for 8 mana. He should not be able to hit you, but only fight for board control.
Playing as many minions as you can will leave Kel'Thuzad far behind, once his taunts are out of the way because of the high cost of his new Hero Power. Blizzard and Cone of Cold will then be your only problems.

This is an impressive list, Bob! I have not yet even attempted the Heroic mode, but I suspect I'll want to give it a try one of these days. When I do I'll have to come find your post again!

All right, even though I completed heroic quite some time ago I wanted to try for lulz if your guide works. I found few minutes and went through first wing.

As for Anub my only note is that you shouldn't really advise running a card from last wing of the adventure to beat the first wing. Sure, for most people the correct order is to complete entire set in normal mode and then go for heroics, but there are also people who have time breaks between wings (every budget player probably and they are who you made this guide for) and they would maybe like to complete entire wing at once, without waiting for having entire expansion finished. Also using AI bug to win is meh. But those are just side notes, because your decklist works pretty well, without KT bug, which I didn't use. Proper Flamestrike gives enough advantage to seal the game, I won in my 2nd try, first game was bad hand, so I instantly surrendered.

Now Ferlina. I can't really tell if Warlock works, because it didn't for me. After 7th loose I picked Druid. Imho I feel that taunters are much better strategy than dropping your hand using spell dmg to kill Worshipers. There are just too many of them and you die way to quickly. Taunts on the other hand are good way of fighting. Innervate Yeti or Senjin or Mark something is quite enough to gain early tempo and once you drop Tree it's pretty much finished as you said. Won in 3rd game with Druid.

Maexxna is a bit tricky and I feel you didn't explain it enough. The key to beat her is facing the board of only 1 attack minions and healing for 8 each turn. You take 7 dmg every turn, but you heal yourself for 8. So it's +1 hp each turn. If youl add to this Light and Truesilver you heal for some more. Therefore the winning situation looks like this: 0WFUr8q.jpg?1

At this point it's impossible to loose. Your hp will increase every turn, while her will not. As you can see I used a single Healbot, but only to make it faster. With Healbot you heal for 8 with one card (wihtout Healbot you use Guardian + Doctor, which is a 2 card and 8 mana combo, not 1 card and 5 mana), so you can use something like Wolfrider or Bluegil to finish the game without fatigue. By only healing you will most likely enter fatigue. You may want to clear then,  because you will fatigue earlier, this is a matter of calculating dmg. Remember that Reckless + Wolfrider is 8 dmg, so by keeping them in hand and using your weapons you should sill easily deal enough dmg to kill her in fatigue time. Also once you exceed or even come close to her HP, Guardian + Wolfrider is enough to end the game. You will be loosing 1 hp each turn, she will be loosing 3, so you win, simple. Healbot only makes things faster, not that much easier.

As for reaching the state of board full of 1 attack minions, the easiest way is to Consecrate while she has 4 Creepers on the field, what happens quite often. If she puts only 3, then you still Consecrate and when she plays 7th minion, just Humilitate it.

OP, those are just side notes, nothing criticizing. Just wanted to make it even easier for others and clarify some points. Once I find some more time, I'll probably finish the other wings with your decks as well and tell if they work. Nice job, really.

Hi Geoff,

glad you appreciate my work!

Granted, winning with the KT bug might feel a little undeserving from time to time and it is a reward from a later wing, but as you said: It even works without him. (Side note: Nobody is pressed for time beating Heroic mode, and you will want to beat every wing anyway. That's why I think it is okay to recommend cards earned from later wings.)

In my experience against Faerlina Warlock works as well as Druid, but as always: Luck plays a bigger role in Heroic mode.

Thanks for clarifying the Paladin deck for Maexxna. But you know you played dirty using the Antique Healbot, right? wink.png
