I've tanked off and on (mostly just leveling/heroic dungeons) for years. I'm pretty familiar with how tanks and specific classes work, but I'm looking for more general info here. I'd like to get into tanking end-game content but I don't think I'm quite there yet. I've been watching videos on general raid tanking (movement, awareness, etc.) and I always read/watch fight guides, but I feel like there are more general things I could do to improve.
What are the most important things for me to be able to see when tanking raids? I know I would need to be able to see the other tank's stacks/debuffs, as well as boss frames with a cast bar, but is there anything else I really need to view? I use DBM so spell timers, etc. are included in that, ElvUI for my UI which keeps it pretty clean, and I use WeakAuras to show CDs and other info pertinent to my class (Stagger for monks, Resolve, and so on).
What keybinds do you typically use for tanking? I'm used to using 1 to 0, -, and = (I have a Naga mouse so it's 1-12 for me), then the same keys with shift or alt modifiers. Ctrl seems to be a little hard for me to reach comfortably. Note: A & D are unbound for me; I use W, S, Q, E and my mouse for movement. I typically would use Shift+1, Shift+2 for ST/AoE taunts, but I'm wondering if there's maybe a better keybind to try out for those.
Thanks for any help
So I've been playing HS for around nine months but was never aware of the possibility of addons and plugins. I habitually use online tools to make arena decks but recently I was watching a few matches on twitch and realized people could see their entire decks, what they have used and not used while they play. Blizzard, i believe doesn't consider anything that can be done with a paper and pencil (and I guess a calculator) when done by an app to cheating.
So my question is what addons and plugins does everyone here use and which ones should I start off with. I've heard of Hearthstone Deck Tracker and Hearthstone Tracker (are they different?) but wondering what gaps are there in my information and what I should be using.
Hey fellow druids!
I've recently switched from healing to Boomkin and started off in BRF.
I'm pretty bad at tracking trinkets, weapons and general procs and I was wondering if anyone out there had:
a) Weakauras strings that would allow me to track trinket procs and starfall uptime (I'm not too used to looking at my buffs so something big and in the centre would be ace)
b) general tips for being a boomkin
I think I have the prio system down but any tips would be greatly appreciated
So, I've been fiddling with weakauras for a few weeks and have been searching around the Internet for example of setup I could use or get some inspiration from. I was quite surprise that there was no thread here about that, so here it is.
My own setup: http://i.imgur.com/4o6izMz.jpg
I'm using a laptop, as such my screen size is not very big (used to raid on 27-inch screen in Cata) and being a raid leader, I need access to a bunch of information. As such, I was trying to find a way to make my aura relatively compact/small so as not to hinder my vision but also big enough to catch my attention when something of significance occured.
On the left of my health bar you can see all defensive CDs, this way I have an easy time following my SBlock uptime and my CDs duration. It's a dynamic group, so it always appears first at the bottom and grows upward. So while it might seems very big at first glance, I rarely have more than 3 CDs used at the same time.
In the middle of the screen, Revenge and Shield Slam CDs. Middle icon is a rage monitors, it appears when I reach 60 rage to avoid waste. The execute aura is for when I get into execute range (or SD proc if I run with this spec) to make sure I don't dump rage into HS when I could Execute. The icon on the other side is when I'm not enrage and Berserker Rage is off cooldown. I found I wasn't using it at all so I decided to track it. This is a new addition and I haven't tested it in raid situation yet so we'll see if it's useful or if I might have to change it.
Anyone want to post their own version?
