Legendary Ring+Master Tracker+MM = fail?

Recommended Posts

Maybe i'm missing sometning but isn't the Ring together with the trinket a bit contra productive? To gain the best from the trinket effect you need to stay as far away as possible but to benefit from the end-effect of the ring you need to have as many targets as possible in 20m range. And as MM you should move as less as possible. Failed design for Hunters especially for MM. Or am i misinterpreting this?

First, the ring explosion effect is centered on whoever uses the ring in your raid group, so you will usually have a melee dps activate it (when one DPS ring is activated, all DPS rings are activated, and everyone who has a ring will gain the benefit).  Second, you won't be using the class trinket anyways, as it is absolutely horrible for marksman given the raid design.  For the trinket to be better than other trinkets, you have to be at least 35 yards away from the target consistently throughout the fight.  Anything less and it becomes worse.  To quote Azor's guide regarding the trinket:

This trinket is mediocre at best, and a waste of a slot at worst. It beats the other trinket options of the same difficulty level on the 35-yard mark, which is not at all reliable or even possible during boss fights in Hellfire Citadel. There are no fights where this trinket is more desirable than any other trinket.
