715 Holy Pally - Very Low Parses (~40-45k hps)

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

Hoping to get some feedback on my logs below.  I'm well geared, experienced, and overall a good player, however my numbers just aren't where i expect them to be in comparison with other holy pally's i've run with.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Logs of most recent Heroic Iskar - Archie clear:

What I can see immediately from looking at your armory is the fact that you don't have the correct trinket set-up. For maximum efficiency you want to get your class trinket as well as the Demonic Phylactery. Once you get that combo of trinkets, you can also look to drop your spirit down to around 1.2k as the mana cost reduction of the DP allows you to instead focus on more Crit / Haste / Mastery. By the looks of your logs, your healing from Holy Light and Eternal Flame is extremely low and as these are two of your three main heals, you'll need to make sure you're fully utilizing Holy Shock, Holy Light, and Eternal Flame. This, however, is prone to getting better once you get your class trinket, as that increases the healing done by your Flash of Light or Holy Light by 88% for 6 seconds after casting Holy Shock. Your Beacon of Light healing seems fine which means you're probably keeping a high up-time on your 4 set bonus. If that is the case, then you definitely want to make sure to use Eternal Flame (3 Holy Power) more frequently as it ticks a lot with that amount of Haste (4-set 4 stacks + your Haste prior to those extra 8%). Once you get the class trinket you can also cut down on Flash of Light usage and instead rely more on preemptive healing as opposed to "panicky" healing where you spam Flash of Light to get people back to full HP.

Overall I think that once you get the gear you're meant to have, you will probably quickly start seeing the results you're wishing for, as some gear (especially trinkets) sadly mean so incredibly much in this game, that not having them cripples you to unbelievable lengths.

For reference, here is my Holy Paladin: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/kazzak/%C3%87rane/simple

I have re-rolled to a Hunter now though, so my gear has been falling off a bit lately, but we do have another Holy Paladin in there who can you also look at to see some of the up-times of EF as well as the low amount of usage of Flash of Light compared to Holy Shock + Holy Light combo.

I hope this helps!

You also have to take into consideration talent switching. I'm nowhere near the best Holy Pally but I excel at some fights due to switching out some talents. For the main part I take Selfless healer. Especially for fights like Iron Reaver/Council/Tyrant/Fel Lord/Archimonde. Taking Selfless healer allows me to skip using Demonic Phylactery. Taking sefless healer is easier on mana, you don't need that much haste due to not using eternal flame and it creates the flash of light haste buff. I just use judgment/holy shock/flash of light on repeat while throwing in Holy prism on Cd or timed aoe damage and Word of glory or Light of Dawn when capped at 5 or 3 and I top charts. I heal 120+ on Tyrant Velhari alone and ranked in the top 1000 on a couple of fights. My parses could be better and some fights I'm lackluster in but for the most part I do pretty well.

Just gotta say that trinkets are definitely a fight dependent thing. Don't be going around thinking two trinkets are best for all fights. Picking up the leech trinket for heavy aoe fights over the class trinket is a decent plan. Personally, I don't run the Phylactery, cuz I never run out of mana, and don't have spirit on a few spirit slots already. I personally don't think that trinket is good for paladins, since 15-20% of our casts actually dont use mana to begin with.

Quick math shows that it's the equivalent of 775 spirit (heroic trinket) on fights where you're casting consistently. It's really solid, basically 327 int 327 haste 775 spirit on heroic. I personally run the kilrogg trinket most of the time, because combining it with wings does basically make me a godsend every 1.5minutes. I can also split them up and have a large healing buff for 50% uptime. (30s wings 15s trinket, 90s CD on each)

Basically, use what youre comfortable with and what works with your raid. The Phylactery is by far better for those who aren't good at managing CDs/Mana to heal and be the clutch healer on your team, but other trinkets -can- fit into your setup. I also find the leech trinket to be underrated, as it does about 20% healing in my experience.

      Paladin Cards:
2x Crystology 2x Flash of Light 1x Lightforged Blessing 1x Crystalsmith Kangor 2x Time Out! 2x Consecration 2x Truesilver Champion 1x Hammer of Wrath 1x Prismatic Lens 2x Holy Wrath 2x Shrink Ray 1x Lay on Hands 1x Shirvallah, the Tiger Neutral Cards:
1x Bloodsail Corsair 2x Wild Pyromancer 2x Novice Engineer 2x Baleful Banker 2x Violet Spellsword 1x Zilliax
      General:
Here is my Version of the OTK-Paladin. I was playing a long time with 2x Prismatic Lens, but i always felt like going into a bigger risk when casting it later on without drawing Shirvallah, the Tiger.  As well i always struggled with my Handsome and ending up overdrawing or just dumping Cards out. So i Cut 1 Prismatic Lens and 1 Hammer of Wrath.  As well as the big draw from Lay on Hands makes up for missing those Card-draws.
For giving up those i put in the Violet Spellsword ´s. Because you usually have atleast 3 spells in hand she makes an awesome Body on the board giving you some breathing time. (Also you can draw it from Crystology because it is a 1- Attack minion. You have to try it out it gives you a a Contester for the board.
The Lightforged Blessing  is an awesome tool to play with Wild Pyromancer and Violet Spellsword.
Since you have a lot Healing-tools it is fine to trade some Health for getting a better value out of Shrink Ray and Time Out! ´s for later on to ensure you the combo.
Because of that Crystalsmith Kangor feels really important. It has so much potential to heal you to full again. Beside the obvious choices to play it with Flash of Light and Lay on Hands. it Heals a lot with your Lifesteal Minions (Zilliax, Shirvallah, the Tiger, Lightforged Blessing).

      Strategy:
Your main Win Condition is having the combination of Shirvallah, the Tiger, Holy Wrath and Baleful Banker in hand while your Deck is empty.
When you have 0 Cards in your deck you want to play Shirvallah, the Tiger after that you shuffle it in your deck as your only card with Baleful Banker.
Now Holy Wrath is ensured to do 25 Damage in his face. Against most classes having the combo once (25 Damage) is enough. That means you can use 1 Holy Wrath for clearing a minion and drawing faster to the bottom of your deck. And as well the combination of Shirvallah, the Tiger and Baleful Banker to clear a minion during the game and heal! It often is important to use against Rogues and Hunter.
Against Warriors u need to have the Combo twice to deal 50 Damage in the end. During the game you can suffer some Damage to your face in order to make sure he doesn't get over 50 Health. That means you hit his face with Truesilver Champion ,Hammer of Wrath, and obviously with your Violet Spellsword.
In order to reach the bottom of your deck  you have a lot of drawing tools like Crystology, Novice Engineer, Lay on Hands, Flash of Light, Prismatic Lens).
To make sure you live until that point you have to make smart use of: Time Out!, Shrink Ray, your Wild Pyromancer ´s. And to double your healing tools like Lay on Hands Flash of Light and Zilliax with Crystalsmith Kangor.  You can often surprise the enemy with the amount of healing this can potentially do. Often it is nice to suffer some damage in face to get a better board clear with Shrink Ray+Wild Pyromancer.
As well Consecration + Wild Pyromancer can deal 3 (maybe even 4 if you have another cheap spell) to the enemy board.
You can as well heal a lot with Wild Pyromancer + Lightforged Blessing (if the board is full)
That said Shrink Ray often has usage to just play alone to minimize the damage you take and buy you another turn for a better Boardclear.

      Start of Game:
You are mainly looking for Crystology. It can get you more card draw by giving you Novice Engineer. Or even a good turn 4 minion by drawing you Violet Spellsword.
Against Aggro decks you want to maybe have an Eye on your Shrink Ray ´s, Consecration ´s and Zilliax. Against those decks it is as well really important to get as much value out of Crystalsmith Kangor (which is also drawn by Crystology) as possible.
Also Flash of Light and Truesilver Champion are good in some Match- Ups.
Maybe pair it with one Combo of Shirvallah, the Tiger and Baleful Banker. Because most Aggro decks don't have a Way to generate much Armor, nor having a lot of Healing most of the Time dealing 25 in the End is enough. Playing Shirvallah, the Tiger 1 Time during the game often can save your life!
Hope You will have as much fun with this deck as I do!

<Exo> is an old guild from Dragonblight which transferred to Stormrage in search of mythic raiders. We are a guild full of experienced raiders always looking to expand our roster.
We are not a world first guild nor do we aim to be. Our primary goal is to get loot and have a good time, however this still means on progression nights we do expect you to show up, put on your serious face, and kill some *filtered*.
Our raids are on 3 nights a week; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9pm-12 Server Time (EST). The Monday raids are optional farm/alt nights (Normal/Heroic) with Tuesday/Wednesday being mandatory progression nights.
Currently we are accepting applications for any role, off specs are always a welcome addition but not required. Performance and skill will be looked at above gear, experience, or class.
We do not have a minimum item level required to join our raid team, however we will require you to catch up in our Monday farm-runs up until you are at a mythic level.
If you have any questions or are interested in joining or trialing with us please add Pasha#1800, Java#1849 or Bushido#1988 on bnet to talk with an officer.

      Hi all,
I'm currently playing a restro druid mainly for Raid - Mythic +
Can somebody explain to me; especially for raids, why my HPS is very low compared to the other healers.
I'm currently going with 936 gs - Shoulder Leg & Finger Leg (2nd talent in lvl75)
      Crit 19%
      Haste 21%
      Mastery 27%
      Versatility 2%
All of my items habe atleast Mastery - even 8 Items Mastery & Haste.
Nevertheless I'm unable to compete in HPS during raids HC + Mythic.
Maybe it's something related to my rota - my current play style is:
      - Lifeboom on tank combined with cenarion ward & rejuvenation.
      - Dotting all others with rejuvenation
      - Effloresecence somewhere at meeles
      - wild growth as soon as multipe dmg mostly combined then with flourish
      - tranquility for heavy aoe
      - swiftmed for heavy heals
      etc...

The problem is, even with this I cannot heal more than 400 - 600hps while the other healers are going with 1 mio hps.
Maybe someone can explain my mistake.

      Thanks
