Purified Shard of the Third Moon

Has anyone taken a look at this BoA 715 trinket?

I'm curious where it would fit into the rankings of decent trinkets to use for Prot.

The static Versatility is meh, but the on use ability scaling with Resolve and doubling against Demons (Fel Lord, Tyrant, Mannoroth, Archimonde being some of the fights where it could come in handy) on a 1 min CD doesn't seem like it'd be too terrible.

Not saying it'd be BiS, of course, but if you're having terrible luck getting trinkets to drop, and you're looking at available tanking trinket options such as (heroic) Pol's Blinded Eye, (normal) Imbued Sigil Stone, 685 Knight's Bade or the BoA trinket...

The trinket is misleading.

Suppose you pop it with 0% resolve, you create two shields for 100,000, one is only effective if it's a demon hitting you, so therefore 200,000 total.

If you pop it with your 200% resolve, and create a 1.5 million shield, you still only create a 100,000 against demons.

Regarding for paladins specifically.... no idea.

That's not entirely true, on my 670 bear, popping it with 0 resolve resulted in 2x 220k shields, and ~150% resolve it easily broke 700k shields on both the normal and demon ones. It's an excellent trinket to use if you need a decent bubble on a short cd, but is outclassed by heroic HFC trinkets quickly (kilrogg's and the class trinket for prof pally specifically).

its amazing on mano and arch where there are heavy hitting mechanics it will save you multiple times per fight also works really well on tyrant for the transition from p2-p3

and in the mythic 5's its also op

hfc heroic trinkets are better unless you are progressing on said fights with survivability issues.
