Druid mount and travel/flight form macro

Recommended Posts

I am currently trying to make a universal 1 hit button for mounting in any situation, it had been working well until I changed it to also include travel form in case I am running or in combat when I need to mount here is what I have so far

/cast [noflyable] Armored Brown Bear

/cast [flyable] [nomoving] Twilight Drake

/cast [flyable] [moving] [nomounted] Flight Form

/cast [noflyable] [moving] [nomounted] /dismount [mounted]

this works fine if im in a flyable area by mounting the twilight drake if im just standing there, and will put me in flight form if im running or falling, but if im mounted and use this macro to dismount it puts me in flight form instead then i have to hit it again to dismount, which is not a big deal, but if it can be fixed to work better that would be great, biggest issue is to make my travel form work with this macro so i can mount while im running (for whatever reason) or while im in combat since i cant use other mounts while in combat and may need to hurry and get away Thanks in advance to anyone that helps Zaron, Guildmaster of Descendants of Death @ Shattered Halls

Here is the one I use.

#showtooltip
/cast [swimming] Aquatic Form; [indoors] Cat Form; [nocombat, harm] Travel Form; [combat] Travel Form; [flyable] Swift Flight Form; Regal Riding Crane /dismount [mounted]

It covers all situations. Default is flight form, you can tweak it the way you want it. Be aware that if you targeting a hostile target then you will go to travel form (because of the [nocombat, harm] modifier)

I've been using the GoGoMount addon for quite a while and it works great on all my toons ,but with my druid it only uses druid forms (travel, flight, etc) instead of a mount. I haven't delved into settings to see if that can be changed because I'm fine using forms on my druid. I have it bound to the scroll wheel click on my mouse and it's great to just mount or change forms with one mindless click.

Alright, here's the complicated one that I use.

#showtooltip Swift Flight Form
/use [swimming] Aquatic Form; [combat, nomounted][mod:alt] Travel Form;[form:0,nocombat,flyable,nomod,nomounted] Swift Flight Form; [form:0,nocombat,nomod:alt] Grand Expedition Yak /cancelform /dismount

For me this is bound to the tilde (~) key for me making it easy to hit with modifier keys using only 1 hand. To summarize this macro -Cancels your current form if you are shape-shifted -Casts Flight Form if you are in an area where you can fly and are not in combat, Summons Ground mount if you are in an area where you can mount but cannot fly or if shift is held, Aquatic Form if you are swimming, Travel Form if you hold alt or are in combat If you tank, I would recommend that you add in [nocombat] or some other modifier to the /cancelform so you don't accidentally drop form while tanking.

I would suggest removing the "Swift Flight Form" portion from this part of your macro

#showtooltip Swift Flight Form

What this will do is change the tooltip and icon of your macro (assuming you have the '?' icon) to what ever form or mount it will use, depending on what the macro will do.

      Hi Team
I am recently returning from a few years away from the game and I have decided to go back to my much loved main throughout wrath, the feral druid. I have always been a cut above the rest and managed to be top dps all through wrath.
I was reading your guide and noticed in the talents you don't take savage roar. Can you explain the match behind this as to me it seems like the more viable option.

Hello everyone! When i downloaded the recent shadowlands expansion, i noticed that my macros no longer worked =0. This is not a single target DPS  macro, this is a Help / Harm selective macro So i did some digging to find out what was goin on, An example of this would be : /cast [help] Innervate ; [harm] Entangling Roots ; Innervate.  This macro utilizes one button for a dual purpose. if i am targeted on friend i innervate them while if i and targeting a opponent it would root them in place. This structure is now broken but has also made things easier in most cases, After doing some digging i discovered some new macros and the new format. Some examples of the new way to write this would be :
       #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]innervate
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Entangling Roots
      #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]Regrowth
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Wrath
      #showtooltip
      /cast [harm,nodead][@target,harm,nodead]Moonfire
      /cast [help,nodead][@target,help,nodead]Rejuvenation
      #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]Wild Growth
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Entangling Roots
This is what they call a fall through macro, If the first line of code is not available because of a cooldown or if the Help or Harm selection, it will fall through to the next line of code. This works especially well for balance druids, shaman, and hybrid healing classes that use a ton of buttons. You can cut the amount of keys you need press in half which saves space and prevents accidentally pressings the wrong button. I like to pair my spells by the time it takes to cast, Instant casts with instant casts. They also introduces a mouse over macro for heals and rebuffs which is really good for world PVP. One of the better macros iv'e seen is a mouse over Rebirth :
       #showtooltip Rebirth
      /cast [@mouseover,help]Rebirth;Rebirth
      #showtooltip Remove Corruption
      /cast [target=mouseover,help,nodead][target=target] Remove Corruption

If you are going to try and make your own macro, you should keep in mind
1: The Global Cool Down or GCD which is the time it takes between 2 casts and
2: Not all of your spells and trinkets share a GCD, so you are able to cast 2 or 3 spells at the exact same time as long as it doesn't share a GCD.
      I hope this helps!
