Tyrant Myth

Heya everyone

 

So, today was our first day progressing on Tyrant Myth and halfway through the raid our lead decides to change tactics for P1.

 

Before we were doing the usual tactic where everyone is spread out a bit and Edict runs into melee range, nothing special.

 

What he wanted to try now was stacking everyone exactly on one spot, so we wouldn't have to run with the Edict. The ones who have Annihilating Strike on them would move out of the group and when Infernal Tempest happened we should (after the first 2 pools had spawned) move perfectly in sync to a spot a few feet away and then back again (when the other 2 had spawned).

 

Well, that was the idea at least... We didn't do a lot of tries like that but moving during the Tempest is so much harder like that and every try a few people would get blown up by it.

 

I just have the gut feeling that this tactic is horrible (and I'm not the only one in the raid to think that) but I can't quite articulate what's wrong with it in a way that would sway him. He thinks that with a bit of practice it would be easier than the spreading out tactic. 

 

Is this tactic feasible at all or are we just wasting our time?

What my guild does for Tyrant is pretty much the "normal" strat and have a priest life-grip the edict into melee (since the edict slows the person by 80% on Mythic, it makes it rather hard to get there quickly).  Everyone stacking on one-another would cause problems during infernal tempest if not everyone moves at the same time, plus they won't be able to clearly see the circles on the ground that they need to move out of since everyone's feet are in the way.

Yeah, we also had a priest gripping the Edict into melee range while we were doing the normal strat, so it shouldn't really be that much of a problem to get there in time.

 

Our raid lead seems to think that if we can't manage to play P1 with stacking like that, we're not gonna manage P3 either with the stacking. But from what I've seen in vids P3 doesn't seem like if would oneshot you or the whole raid, if you moved a fraction to late or too early... Or am I wrong?

 

Idk, I'm just kinda frustrated right now, cause I don't see the point of playing it that way rolleyes.gif

You're right.
That strat puts way more emphasis on coordination.. but it is 100% do-able.

My guild used gateways with people with little-no mobility near them, while mages/hunters etc stood on the outskirts of the room.

 

I'd your raid leader use the same strat that wasn't dependent on ALL raiders completing their job 100%, because lets face the reality that there'll always be one person each pull who will gt something wrong... whether is be from trying to finish spell casting, or just forgetting to move.
