hearthstone Hearthstone: TwoBiers Completes the 100/10 Challenge in Style

1 post in this topic

German player TwoBiers has become the first player to successfully complete the 100/10 challenge, with a score of 103. He was also the first player to reach the tenth run in over a month.

The 100/10 challenge has been the focus of many Arena streamers since its creation by Amaz in December. Hafu previously came close with a score of 96 in Februrary, beating Ratsmah's 93 set a few days before.

TwoBiers is largely a constructed streamer, who rose to prominence by placing second behind Xixo in the HS-Arena grand opening invitational. A tournament, which despite the name, was a constructed tournament.

In the 100/10 challenge, he got off to an incredible start by scoring eleven or twelve on each of his first six runs. It looked like the dream might be over after the eighth run, where he scored three with Druid to suddenly put himself in potential trouble. Being only just above target at such a late stage left him open to having Priest making things very awkward if it came up. He steamrolled the ninth run with Mage to a 12-1 score, which left himself needing just seven wins with Rogue in the final run. The champagne had to be put on ice when the final run reached a 4-2 record, which would have been a score of 97 if he lost the next game. However he held his nerve and rattled off six wins in a row to finish on a spectacular 103.

Run Class Wins Losses
1 Paladin 11 3
2 Warlock 12 1
3 Shaman 11 3
4 Rogue 12 2
5 Rogue 12 1
6 Hunter 11 3
7 Mage 9 3
8 Druid 3 3
9 Mage 12 1
10 Rogue 10 3
Total [/td] 103

Completing the challenge also fulfilled his own prophecy from his tournament write-up on Reddit.

So Blizzard gave us the opportunity to choose and root for a player during the HS World Championship 2016.
You win in-game prizes for every win they get. Everyone gets a pack for just picking one of the contenders.
      So who's your pick?

ShiftCon has arrived for the second time in the Hearthstone tavern!
It was announced yesterday that we wouldn't be getting the Heroic Tavern Brawl this week. The possible dates for it are either October 26 (next week) or November 2.
Instead, we are getting a repeat brawl: ShiftCon. Your deck is filled with Shifter Zerus and some random class spells, while you start at 3 mana. This Tavern Brawl offers a good balance of skill and luck, since you have to decide if you should play your transformed Zerus at the given turn (if you can) or hold on to it.
With the preparations for the Heroic Tavern Brawl underway, it was expected that we would be getting a repeat brawl this week. This is the 71th Tavern Brawl.

Blizzard have released an infographic on their blog outlining a series of interesting Arena stats.
In the Americas region, Alumn scored the highest average from 1 Jan 2016 until 1 September with an average of 7.62. Hafu (playing as BattlePants) was second, and Kripp was third. When you consider that Hafu and Kripp play almost exclusively while streaming, and Hafu didn't play the top three classes for a while because she found them to be not challenging enough, these are spectacular achievements.
In the Europe region, Caesar topped the list with an average of 8.09
The impressive thing from the data is the sheer magnitude of the popularity of the game.

There were also some other spectacular stats. It is worth checking them all out for yourself on the official blog.
