Lead Designer Ben Brode, and well known caster, Frodan, played four games of Standard Hearthstone using Whispers of the Old Gods cards on stream today. The games were played live against Dean Ayala on Blizzard's official Twitch Channel.

During the games, many new cards were revealed, and after the stream the entire set was spoiled on Facebook. As well as seeing new cards revealed, we also got a look at Yogg-Saron in action for the first time. One thing that became immediately apparent is that many of the spells cast by Yogg-Saron cancel each other out. An Unleash the Hounds early in the chain of spells can be removed by board wipes, and it seems that players should allow for significant diminishing returns after the first few spells.

The opinion of name players watching the stream seemed to be that Shaman is the big winner in Whispers of the Old Gods. As well as Hallazeal, Master of Evolution, and Thing from Below, which had already been spoiled. There were several new cards spoiled today that also appear to be powerful in the class. Players also felt that although it loses Mad Scientist, Freeze Mage will be one of the strongest decks at the start of the new meta. We will be able to test for ourselves in just a few days from now. The release is scheduled for April 26 on the Americas server, and April 27 on Europe and Asia.

Also of note in the set is a nod to 2014 World Champion, Firebat

Eternal sentinel seems striping when played on turn three after totem golem - a one mana spell such as earth shock or rockbiter weapon can be played as well.

I believe there is an option to edit your comment. It should be in dark blue (bad design imo biggrin.png ) in the lower right corner of you comment, right next to MultiQuote.

We have a new Tavern Brawl this week! Its name is Spellbook Duel.
For this Brawl, you choose your class and then you pick 10 different cards to fill your deck. Instead of drawing cards each turn, you Discover a copy of a card from your deck. If you use card drawing mechanics, like Arcane Intellect, you don't actually draw from your deck. You will, in fact, get a 1-mana spell called Peruse, which again allows you to Discover a copy of a card from your deck.
Obviously, there are a lot of possible deck combinations you can use to tackle this new Tavern Brawl. The first things that pop into mind are anything that contains Reno Jackson and Kazakus, as well as Jade Druid to extend the possibility of getting these precious Jade Idols. Once again, Mage is the clear winner of this Brawl with cards like Sorcerer's Apprentice, Arcane Intellect and Flamewaker.
Bear in mind that some cards are not recommended, since they remove cards from your Discover pool. Examples are Fel Reaver and Tracking. Moreover, cards that put another card directly into play, like Mysterious Challenger and Mad Scientist, will also make your Discover pool smaller. Lastly, according to a Reddit user, Renounce Darkness won't deduct 1 mana from the cards you discover throughout the game.
There are already a lot of disgusting decks for Spellbook Duel out there. We are waiting for your suggestions and any other useful info in the comments!
