Feral Druid 7.3

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I hope this is the right page to put this on, I clicked comments from the Feral Druid guide.

I just wanted to throw in a little something extra to the regrowth macro they listed in the macros & addons section, bold below is what I added.

#showtooltip Regrowth
/console autounshift 0
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Regrowth
/console autounshift 1
/use 3

This change will make it so besides being a mouse-over regrowth, it will then check your target for a live friendly, if not it will cast on yourself. As it was, if you didn't have your mouse over a frame it did nothing, I think this version will be useful in more diverse situations :)

Definitely an interesting suggestion! Thanks for contributing and I'll see if we can get this added :)

I'm really not happy reading the 7.1.5 ptr patch notes and seeing omen of clarity getting nerfed to only work on shred thrash and swipe..... seems like a total unnecessary nerf when feral already struggles with energy. I really hope they go back on that.

I guess we'll have to see how it plays out tomorrow. It might turn out OK in practice despite looking bad on paper!

The guides are currently being updated for 7.1.5! I just wanted to leave a few notes for all of our users that might be getting ready to leave a comment:

  • Some pages do not require updates. The "Last Updated" stat does not mean the page is out of date, it might just not have needed any changes. If you feel that it does, leave a comment telling us what needs changing and why.
  • The process will not happen immediately - some guides will be updated faster than others simply due to the number of resources available. Be patient, they'll be ready when you need them!
  • There might be some continuity errors when making small adjustments to large guide pages. If you do find one of these, just let us know in the comments and we'll get it fixed ASAP.
  • "Why have you not taken into account X buff to X ability?" - remember, just because something got buffed, it doesn't mean it is now automatically better than the other options!

As always, we want to thank you all for being patient while we get things updated and I'm always available to help you all if you need it :)

Any chance you can post the actual value weights of the relics in comparison.  You say for example that the rake relic can be worth up to 11 item levels depending on which relic it's competing against.  I don't know if this means a 870 rake relic will be worth 60 ilvls (49ilvl + 11ilvl)  in compairson to a rip level 875 relic worth 59 ilvl (51ilvl + 8ilvl) making the rake better, or if its only worth 11 more in comparison to a FB relic.  Thanks

Why is this a nerf? This actually is rather a buff, since it lets you use your normal rotation without having to fear to lose energy! Shred is the attack using most energy, so you always want to use it on it anyway and not on the cheaper dots or self buff.

Before this buff you had to waste combo points or energy when there was a proc on 5 combo points as one example.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but it seems like you're only aiming to pick a fight. Wordup has given you the answers you seek, he has quoted from Celestalon's Twitter, who is arguably one of the more reliable sources of information given that he is, oh you know, a Tech Game Designer for the game you're discussing. If Celestalon isn't a credible enough source, then nothing will be.

If it is that you can simply write the guide yourself, as you said so above, I would suggest doing so. I wish you the best of luck and I look forward to seeing you at the forefront of "basic" Feral theorycrafting.

Of course you are wrong, but what to expect from someone with 0 game knowledge wanting to write about guides... The problem is the information I got are not reliable in this way, since I have no real way to know if they are correct or not.

How can I make a guide, when there is no reliable source of information? Seriously somewhere the "simulations" need to get their information, but there is no reliable source one could quote?

Also not all needed information were "posted"...

The twitter quote is a problem, since there is no guarantee it still holds now and having to search through twitter quotes for game knowledge is a joke.

lol you attack the writers of this guide for being wrong yet you can't see why this is a nerf? omen of clarity worked on all energy attacks now it only works on 3. I could already use it for shred last patch. this one makes a class that is energy starved to begin with even more starved. I also look forward to your "guide" that shows us how wrong we are.

I'll double check with Wordup and see if I can put together a slightly more easy to understand version. Will add in another comment.

I'm not a class guide writer, so I'm not sure what this has to do with your issue, but OK. You also know nothing about my game knowledge, given that we don't know each other.

Anyway, thanks for your comment. Any further comments in the same tone or on the same topic of attacking either myself or our writers will be deleted. Have a good day.

The "up to" means comparing a relic to a dead relic - asked Wordup. He's going to try make it clearer in the guide.

The guide is suggesting that the 2p bonus (thrash = 1 cp) is a dps loss on single target.  Is this still true with the legendary bracers that buff thrash by 75%?

As far as I am aware, yes. I'll double check with Wordup though.

you really shouldn't be using thrash for single target situations costs way too much energy and does way less then rake and rip. better off using moonfire from lunar inspiration then weaving in thrash. I only use thrash on 3 or more target with bloodtalons and then raking each target.

He was asking specifically in the event that you have the Thrash legendary and the 2-piece bonus, not as a general rotation question.

right understandable. I don't think the 75% boost to its dmg would warrant using it tho. we're energy starved as it is. that omen of clarity change has been brutal which is why most have swapped lunar inspiration out for blood scent. as for myself since I'm sitting at 35% crit base and have a 860 eye of command with the chest boost I can get to 40% with 10 stacks and seems to be where the diminishing returns from crit kick in so I stuck with SI. energys really bad now its noticable not getting clearcast on rake and rip.

I've been running. Blood Scent, Balance Affinity, Soul of the Forest, Sabertooth, Moment of Clarity or Brutal Slash (AoE/add bosses), and my dps has gone up by about 20k over the old SR/BT build.

Okey, so a rake relic with 850 is better than a tigerfury relic with 875?

Hi! Is there a pawn string for NH gear?

Generally the most accurate way to get it is via simming your own character's gear. You can use our general weights, but you'll get more accurate results via SmC.

Can you show me a log of you playing the different specs? It's likely a playstyle issue if there is that much of a difference in DPS, especially with SotF.

If you mean the Ashamane's Energy relic, then no. That relic is better than the rake one.

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but the AOE section of the guide never mentions Savage Roar usage. Should SR be used always, regardless of the situation? I'm particularly thinking in 2-3 target scenarios, keeping rip on 2-3 targets instead of using SR

yea you pretty much want SR up 100% of the time. for aoe situations I always have BT on open with thrash and swipe then SR another BT then thrash + swipe. lower aoe cleave throw in some rakes and a rip.

We have quite a few changes coming for healers in Season 4 with next week's reset, as Blizzard detail the overall reduction of throughput for some specs, as well as buffs to others.
      Healer Tuning (Source)
In Season 4, we’re reducing the overall throughput of some healers to better align with our tuning goals. At the same time, we’re increasing the comparative power of Holy Paladin, Preservation Evoker, and Holy Priest without needing to further escalate the capabilities of healers.
The following adjustments are now deployed to the 10.2.6 PTR, and will go live with the beginning of Season 4 next week.
      Monk
Mistweaver All healing done reduced by 13%. Does not apply in PvP combat. Druid
Restoration All healing done reduced by 5%. Does not apply in PvP combat. Shaman
Restoration All healing done reduced by 5%. Does not apply in PvP combat. Priest
Discipline Developers’ notes: As part of our goal for balancing healers in raids, we would like to reduce raid healing output for Discipline Priest without affecting them in other content. Atonement transfers 35% of damage to healing (was 40%). Atonement healing increased by 70% outside of raids (was 50%). Atonement healing increased by 35% in PvP (was 15%). Player vs. Player
      Monk
Mistweaver Ancient Teachings healing transfer amount reduced to 375% in PvP combat (was 412%).

      (Source)
Hoist the sails and batten the hatches; a Plundersurge begins this week with weekly maintenance!
The Plunderstorm event is ending on April 30, but until then, pirating players can double the amount of Renown earned from all sources of Plunder by taking the Plundersurge.
      Set Sail for the Plunderstorm
Plunge into a challenging battle that earns excellent rewards for World of Warcraft® Modern and Classic progression realms. All you have to do is survive…and plunder. Can't seem to stay in the realm of the living? No problem. Plunderers still gain progression that helps unlock new rewards.
Each match is 10-15 minutes long and has 60 players per match, with the winner being the last one standing. Level up and acquire new abilities and spells by killing creatures and enemies, looting chests, and avoiding the encroaching storm.
      A Pirate's Life for You
The Arathi Highlands is the backdrop for this pirating adventure, and you'll have plenty of challenges to keep you busy.
      Prepare to Plunder
Plunderstorm is perfect for pick-up and play! No expansion purchase is required, but a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time is needed to participate in a high-stakes, play-by-the-seat-your-pants match. This means that Classic players can also participate in a plethora of plundering fun by simply installing the modern (Live) World of Warcraft client:
Launch the Battle.net desktop app. Click the World of Warcraft icon at the top. If the icon is missing, click on All Games and select the game from the list. On top of the Install button is a drop-down menu. Confirm that you wish to install World of Warcraft. Click Install. Once you’re in modern WoW:
Select Plunderstorm2 from the World of Warcraft game menu to get into the action. Create a new, ready-to-play character—player characters are unique to this event. You don't need previous knowledge of races and classes to chart your course for mayhem. Choose between Solo or—to play with your Battle.net friends—make a group from the Plunderstorm character screen and select Duo. If queued for a Duo without a partner, you'll be automatically matched with one. You can also access chat, customize characters, and see the queue from the Character Select Screen. Action Bar and Abilities, Worthy Mates
Discover lootable spells, abilities, and upgrades as you plunder treasure chests and defeat enemies. Upon picking up, spells and abilities are automatically added to your Action Bar, with two slots dedicated to offensive skills and two for utilities such as leaps, speed boosts, and crowd-control.
Some abilities are more action-based and require good positioning and player targeting. Have fun discovering and experimenting with different combinations to find what works for you.
Upgrades to Your Spells and Abilities
Your spells and abilities can be upgraded by discovering higher-quality versions from treasure chests or finding the same ability elsewhere and stacking it to Rank 3 (epic). There are also plenty of plundering opportunities—various treasure chests with different rarities that harbor all types of abilities are stashed around the map. Always stay on the lookout for better loot and upgrades.
      Spectating Spectre
Upon death, keep watching the match from the perspective of your teammates (if they're still alive) or other players, including their loadout.
      Rewards A-Plenty for Plundering Pirates
Players can earn cosmetics, pets, titles, and mounts as they progress through the reward track. These include the majestic Polly Roger parrot mount, Bubbles the crab pet, swashbuckling cosmetics, 750 Trader's Tender from "Keg Leg's Crew" for use on the Trading Post, and more. 3 A victory is not required to claim the spoils of a well-fought fight.
To view Renown and apply the Plunderstorm weapon and transmog customizations, change titles, or summon pets, swabbies can click on Da'kash Grimledger standing directly in front of the spawn point in the Plunderstorm lobby.
Customization unlocks are simultaneously unlocked for Dragonflight characters and can be found in your Collection. Each Renown level unlock is noted in colored text under the reward name, whether the reward is for Dragonflight, Plunderstorm, or Classic.
Perch on the shoulders of this parrot instead of him perching on yours! Proper pirate fashion is a must for plundering! There isn't a better first mate on the high seas than Pirate Pepe! Plunderstorm Content Update Notes

We look forward to seeing you drop from the skies to engage in pirate-themed mayhem. We'll see you in Azeroth and wherever the adventure takes you!

2Plunderstorm is accessed from the World of Warcraft® game menu but exists outside of player progression in World of Warcraft® and Wrath of the Lich King Classic™.

Check out our first look at MoP Remix coming in Patch 10.2.7!
When Patch 10.2.7 goes live, you will be greeted by the following screen, informing you about the MoP Remix event and its objectives. There will be a button that lets you create your Timerunner (character).

Similar to Plunderstorm, there will be an icon on the character screen for MoP Remix with the number of days remaining.

Timerunners will be marked with a special icon next to their name on the character selection screen.

When you first enter the game, you'll start with a short intro quest on the Timeless Shore. Your character will be affected with the Pandaria: Remix buff.

The quest intro features a few unique quests before you start replaying MoP from the very beginning. It introduces you to Bronze, the event's currency used to buy items and upgrade gear.
Throughout your journey you will come across some very unique gear just like this cloak (Cloak of Infinite Potential) that permanently increases in power (Timerunner's Advantage).

Your char will have access to two important Timerunning abilities.
Extract Gem - Extract a gem from one of your socketed items. Unraveling Sands - Summon Unraveling Sands that transforms your unwanted items into Bronze. Gems offer a lot of customization in MoP Remix and you want to extract them with Extract Gem, because placing a new gem on top of a socketed one will make you lose it.
If you come across unneeded gear, you can scrap it for Bronze with Unraveling Sands.
