Frost Mage 7.3

I'm simply commenting to say that Shimmer should not be a top choice for its tier. It DOES NOT work exactly like regular Blink. The difference is that you lose the ability to Blink out of control impairing effects.

I didn't see an mention of the passive that increases ice lance damage by 20/40/60%  on frost bolt crits, but that seems to be fairly important when the rest of the spec is based around frost lance.

Do you try to keep Frozen Bomb up at all times? Don't know if i'm reading right that I should or that I should only do it when I have FoF procs ready to cast.

We'll get the description fixed, but Shimmer is still the top choice for damage, since it does not interrupt spellcasting, assuming you do not want to force your healers to heal through Cauterize.

Which passive are you talking about? What is the name?

You cast it when you can, but only proc the Shatter with 2 or more FoF procs.

Generally if something is dismissed in this way, it is due to a simple numbers comparison of using the talent vs. not using it via simulations. There isn't a utility associated with the spell, so it must just be that, in an instanced environment, the talent does less DPS than either of the others.

Generic comment being mass posted over the comments threads guys.

We are aware of the changes and our writers are working hard to update the guides to suit what has changed. Currently, there is a lot of work still to be done and it's unlikely that every guide will be up-to-date immediately. Expect a flood of updates over the coming days that will answer all of your questions about what is now best after X change, in time for the reset next week.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

I don't think it will impact your rotation, you'll just follow the same thing with more damage, basically. Crit is already pretty valuable to you, so there won't be much impact on the weights either, I believe.

Thanks for this very usefull guide. I know you can't really check your guides each times a hotfix hit live servers, but I would like to know if everything is up to date and still relevant now that mages have the rights to play other specs :p. On sims it shows that every specs are more or less equals in terms of power.

From what I can see in the changelog, there have been multiple updates in the last 7 days, so you should be good-to-go!

My bad, I didn't realise changelog were specific to pages and not for all the guide. Thanks :)

Save frost bomb for when you have 2 finger charges or the potential to have greater than 2 (frozen orb, frozen touch, ebon bolt). If you're casting it with 1 or 0 charges you are wasting the 10 seconds on cast time spells or global cool downs, which is lost damage potential. Also remember that flurry into ice Lance counts as a freeze.

Ah, that's a good point. Thanks for correcting me :)

Really, the update was just a bit to the trinket choices? This guide doesn't reflect changes which Kuni noted in the guide on MMO-Champion. Not a good service to the frost mage community. :-/

I'm not 100% sure but I think Glacial spike is affected by Splitting ice ! Since it does now 80% dmg to secondary target, when your glacial spike can do 1M more dmg on crit, buff it by 80% on multi target is a must have. Can someone confirm this ?

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.
      (Source)
      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
