Broken Shore, Demon Hunters and Invasions Now Live In North America

Recommended Posts

The pre-expansion hype has just started in the Americas with Demon Hunters, the Broken Shore questline and the demon invasions being available!

Anyone who has pre-purchased Legion can now access the new Hero class of World of Warcraft, the Demon Hunter! Blizzard has already posted an official preview of this new class, while from our side we have a couple of guides ready for its two specialisations: Havoc (DPS) and Vengeance (Tank).

Similar restrictions that used to apply for Death Knight now apply to Demon Hunters: you can only make one per realm and you need to have a level 70 character in the realm, in which you wish to create your Demon Hunter. In addition, Demon Hunters can only be Night Elves for Alliance and Blood Elves for Horde. Demon Hunters begin at level 98; you will go through two starting zones, Mardum and the Vault of the Wardens, before you can join your fellow adventurers in the rest of Azeroth. MMO-Champion has posted two video cinematics from the beginning and the middle of this starting experience.

As far as the demon invasions are concerned, make sure to read the official preview, as well as the details on their schedule which were revealed in a PCGamesN interview. The rewards you can earn from these invasions are weapon and armor transmogs, a battle pet, a toy drop and - of course - achievements! The Dark Whispers event will also take place in Stormwind and in Orgrimmar: it has no known rewards, but it's just a fun way to wreak havoc in your capital city.

Furthermore, the Broken Shore questline will be available to all players (apart from Demon Hunters) that are over level 98. This scenario paves the way for Legion and obviously, there are some major lore developments happening during it! MMO-Champion has posted the much anticipated cinematic of the conclusion of the Alliance and the Horde campaign at the Broken Shore.

Lastly, Blizzard has posted a blog post on the level 100 boost that will be available to everyone who has or will purchase Legion. Additional boosts can be bought from the Shop, while you can try out a class before boosting it with the new Class Trials system.

i have to say, they did a very good job with this, for the first time the threat feels like a threat, and there are some fun things to do. Also, them cutscenes T_T

Levelling a demon hunter was great fun!

Too bad you can only have 1 per realm, because I would love to create one to choose the other faction at the end of the questline...

I have a horde server and ally server for this reason. Also switched it up, did havoc horde side and vengeance ally side.

Did something acually change between the two factions at the end of the questline?

no not really, sort of like DK starting area, you just go to different places and meet the leaders there, nothing huge to lore or anything

Great, thanks for the answer ;)

Spoiler

Now I don't have to level a lvl 70 char on another realm to get a second demon hunter! A little dissapointing to not have any major changes between story lines though, maybe they will implement this in future patches though...

I have to say that this pre expansion event has been one of my favorite.  The cinimatics are great, the story is amazing and it feels epic.  If this is any indication of what the rest of the expansion will be like then all the more I am eagerly awaiting the 30th!

I agree this pre-expansion does have a better feel than WoD, MoP, and Cata.  Hopefully Bliz continues it with the rest of the expansion.  It'll be interesting to see how the storyline develops with the changes of Horde and Alliance leadership...

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.
      (Source)
      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
