The right time to change my gear?

Recommended Posts

Hello my dear stealthy collegues!

I just noticed the sin guide has been updated recently to the new stat weigths and skills. The question that popped up in my head is, when is the right time to switch from my (almost) full crit/vers gear to mastery/crit? It's a big change, which would involve a lot of resources to be spent for crafting new leather gear, gemming, etc. Or is it only worth changing after reaching a certain itemlevel? I don't remember where but i recall reading that poison build will be ahead of the exsang build with heroic gear. I've kind of tested it earlier in lfr, and i don't really see much of a difference in dps with my currently acquired mastery gear. (which is around 6 or 7 slots atm)

Furthermore, will be Agonizing Poison still be better after getting the legendary bracers, since it has no dot effect? Or will deadly poison and exsang pull ahead again?

Thanks in advance for your kind help!

PS: Here's my arsenal link, it should be with my actual crit/vers gear http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/onyxia/Enalya/advanced

I'm in the same boat actually. Sitting at ~850 iLvl with gear focusing on Crit/Vers but I have a ton of side-grade gear in my bank that focuses on Mastery (puts me at about 120%). I've simm'ed my character six ways to Sunday and I just can't get my predicted DPS above what it is now in bleed spec. I'd chalk it up to that just meaning I'm not ready for a poison spec yet but what concerns me is when I try to sim as poison, SimC is still giving me stat weights as if I was bleed based (Crit>Ver>Mast>Haste) so I'm not sure it knows what I'm trying to simulate.

Hmmm. My experience with ShadowCraft lately has that is has been extremely unreliable and random.

The models are updated almost every day - there's a few bugs here and there but it should be ok to use for both Sin and Sub.

There isn't really a specific time to change over - once you have a decent amount of Mastery, the Poison build will likely work better for you. Most people see this point upwards of 110%, but everybody's gear is different

I'd say to keep simming frequently. No one can say that better than a computer.

      Heya!
So I’ve read the Icy Veins Sin Rogue PvP Guide that suggests Cheapshot > Garrote > Mutilate > Rupture as an opener. It works very well, but I’m wondering if I should use another opening rotation with MotMA (gives 100% crit chance for 5 sec after exiting stealth mode)? I know that legendaries aren’t active in arenas, but I was thinking in wpvp/duels.
      Cheers :)

Kinda piggybacking on the 'not too shabby' thread, I'm curious to get opinions here -

So with this setup, I have too much haste. Like, way too much.  What do you think about dropping the tier helm and swapping to the Crown?  It would fix 3 stat issues at once (haste/crit/mastery), but I can't quite figure out how much of a loss it would be to lose either the shoulders or boots.  I've run it 5 different ways and it comes out as a near-wash with every permutation.
      Thoughts?

      Hi,
I have a couple of questions for assass and outlaw on things i cant seem to find a proper answer for anywhere. The first is for assass. With vigor the new go to talent, what number of combo points is it worth using envenom on to not potentially waste combo points (i have heard both 2, 3 and 4). For outlaw, when using the wrists, how worthwhile is it to hold a blunderbuss proc, or saber slash to full combo points to cast a between the eyes (potentially wasting pistol shot procs), or should i just use the wrists with any pistol shot proc. Also, does anyone know if draught of souls is good for outlaw, as i picked one up the other day (currently using 880 urn and 870 angerboda)
      Cheers

Hey all, I apologize if this is common knowledge, but my rogue is one of my alts and I don't know as much about the class as I'd like. I used to play outlaw just fine, but I'm interested in a strong spec that isn't so RNG dependent. I'm a bit confused as to how much mastery is needed to pull off a poison build vs a bleed a build. The talent guide says to go for poisons if you have a mastery-heavy build. What constitutes a lot of mastery? My rogue is wearing ilvl 847 with 27.79% crit, 7.83% haste, 116.2% mastery, 3.6/1.8% versatility. That is based on recommendations from Ask Mr. Robot. I primarily run mythics and I would like recommendations on the best tier 1 and 6 talent suggestions.
