outlaw Outlaw rogue help/analysis - w/ Greenskin's bracers

5 posts in this topic

Hate to be another needy fellow who is having a hard time analyzing the logs, but I'm trying to dig through and see what I'm doing wrong, but I can't find it all...

I have Greenskins Waterlogged bracers, so i've thrown BttE into the rotation (when I remember to check the CD) and follow with the next PS proc (hopefully Blunderbuss!) that's my only rotation variation I'm attempting. I havent been using ghostly strike, because I have a terrible time remembering to keep it up, but I'm going to try again. (I wasn't specced  with GS for these logs)

I think I might be having an issue with casting PS/BB too much, but I'm sure there are other issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Warcraftlogs: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/bw4YfckyqBAX2aHx
Armory: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/argent-dawn/Mulajin/simple
ShadowCraft: http://shadowcraft.mmo-mumble.com/us/argent-dawn/mulajin (SC seems to be weird, is it not yet fully capable of handling all the ilvl variations?)

Thanks a bunch guys.

Edit: note: I know I'm using old pots/flasks, I'm a bit behind on being able to upgrade, so I'm currently only using current pots/flasks on some occasions.

Napkin math is telling me that using BtE to buff PS is worth it, but that it's still only worth to cast that PS if you get an Opportunity proc, and BtE is the least important skill to use as part of your rotation. It would be ideal to use BtE when you have Shark buff up to really try and maximise it, but it's not strictly necessary. I'm not exactly certain of any of that - if you see other information from a different source please send it my way cause I'd be interested to see that

That said, you are indeed using PS too often - 45 casts (plus 13 BB) with only 39 Opportunity procs

Your RtB use seems good, so there's not a whole lot else that's super obvious

Thanks Carrn, I'm trying to work on everything, but I feel so low in my raid right now, and like I'm underperforming.

I've been trying to watch my overuse of PS, and I'll have some more logs on Tuesday when I have raids again.

Hopefully things look on the up and up.

I should also be all set for new flasks and pots by our next progression night, maybe that will make up some of the difference as well.

It'll help for sure.

The real downside of playing Outlaw is that you don't know when RtB is going to be generous and help you and when you're going to chain roll 1-buff. It has a very high potential ceiling, but also a very low potential floor, so that even if you're playing perfectly sometimes you just won't do well at all

      Hi,

Heading into Nighthold for the first time tonight and now sure how to spec.
      ST?
      AOE?
MoC or Volley? Is Stampede worth taking?

      Help please.

      Howdy,
I was going to submit a bug report in game, but I thought I'd check here to see if this really is a bug, or if I just don't understand how the ability is supposed to work. Here's what I planned to submit:
outlaw rogue ability: Between the Eyes, is not correctly applying the 4x damage increase on critical strikes per the tooltip listed damage for each combo point, nor is it appropriately applying any of the bonus damage modifiers: prey on the weak and ghostly strike. If using Deeper Strategem talent, it appears to be applying 4x damage based on the 5th combo point tooltip, but again, the modifiers:ghostly strike and prey on the weak are not applying.
Per the tooltip, at 6 combo points, I should do 200,695 damage, 5 combo points would be 167,470 damage. While testing this on a training dummy, with Ghostly Strike and Prey on the Weak applied, with Deeper Strategem talented, using 6 combo points, I see a critical strike (100% chance from legendary shoulders) of 682,357. Unless my math is horribly mistaken, that should be a critical strike for 963,336:
      200,695 x 4 x (100% + 10% + 10%)

      This is what I do:
Stand behind dummy, so nothing is blocked, build up 6 combo points, apply Ghostly strike, either vanish, or leave combat and enter stealth, use Cheap Shot, then use Between the Eyes

So I'm confused on what to do at this point.. I'm at 30% crit with the shoulders equip and 120% mastery. Should I be stacking mastery now and not worrying about crit since I get 100% off start? I also have the bracers? Also since the burst is for 6 seconds I don't know what I should do for a opener anymore.. Any suggestions?

Hey yall! so i'm writing this because i just want to undesrtand something. my friend and i compared numbers today because we are both shadow priests albeit i have a higher ilvl than he does maybe by around 7 im sitting at 863 .
what happend was during the last fight we decided to do the same -ish rotations meaing we both had vamp touch and shadow pain up on the same boss at all times.
at the end of the fight i found something odd,
his vamp touch dealt 4.99m dmg with max hit at 315 and minimum
mine only dealt 3.71 with max hit at 335 but take this in, minimum hit at 17k LOLLL
another thing that got my attention
his max hit on mind blast was 512 k, while mine was only at 281k.
his crit and mastery stands at 20% and 40%, mine at 24% and 42%
his haste stands at 27 and mine stands at 24
can anyone explain this? at all? does it make any sense at all LOL

With the huge upcoming nerfs to BtE (crit multiplier removed) and greenskins wrists (400% to 300% damage), i am wondering if the effect will still be worth using in 7.1.5, or whether or not they will become a glorified stat stick. With the slight buff to ghostly strike also, it seems they may become useless. Does anyone have any info / run any sims on the issue. On a side note, with the single target buffs to outlaw is it going to be a competitive spec, and will slice and dice overtake roll the bones to give the spec more consistency (although make it far more boring).
