Can we extend raid locks like this?

4 posts in this topic

our guild just did a bunch of attempts on heroic lei-shen on monday night. after about 3 hours of wiping, we weren't going to down him so we switched it back to normal mode and brought in some alts just to finish out the week.

so, the majority of our raid is on a lockout where lei-shen is dead, but we have some people who were not there for the normal lei-shen kill so their lockout is still 11/13H. is it possible to extend one of those 11/13H lockouts, then have the rest of the raid join it so we can go straight to heroic lei-shen on tuesday?

I don't think it will work because heroic's have a unique lock out, basically the same way lockouts used to be handled prior to Cata. Even if the player wasn't present it will pull up the instance ID where the rest of the group killed Lei Shen on Nomal.

Now, if it was all normal mode then that would work, but they made it impossible do so in Heroics because back in Wrath people would save lockouts for weeks on their alts and extend their lockout to work on Lich King, and then reset the instance and full clear at the end of the week if they still hadn't killed him.

This works like this because the lockouts only pertaining to to heroics like storm said.

Since HEROIC lei shen was still alive, then you can extend and still be on him.

If anyone in the group for some reason decided to go to a differing guild and kill heroic lei shen on that lockout for some reason, then yes you would NOT be able to extend.
