Too much hit?

5 posts in this topic

Hi guys!  Brand new to this type of forum thing so I'll try to be as short as possible.

I know the Hit cap is 7.5%, but whit my gear and standard gemming i have a whopping 12.12% after reforging.  I honestly don't know if this is OK or if I need to address some gemming and whatnot.

Here is a link to my rogue: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/blades-edge/Carlitosway/simple

I will greatly appreciate any help with this, because in my opinion I am not benefiting from this.

Thanks,

Carlitosway

Even if you address the gemming, you will only drop ~1.6% and either regem for pure agility or Agil/Stam.

I do not know rogues (hunter myself) but you do get 'some' benefit from hit meaning going the Agil/Stam or even pure agility may still be a slight dps loss as from your sockets, you are sacrificing 20agility for 160hit.

So the question is, while above hit cap, does 20agility do more dps than 160hit. I can't answer this.

Also note the best solution I can see to this problem is a different trinket to the Shado-Pan Assault one. That will drop your hit by roughly 3%.

GL and I hope a rogue can give you better advice.

Edit 340 rating give 1% hit. Just to justify my estimates.

Definitely start gemming agility Stam in your blue sockets instead of Agility Hit, and reforge out of hit everywhere you can. but sometimes you'll just end up way over hit cap. especially if you're using a hit trinket, but in your case much like mine the proc on the hit trinket is best in slot.

at least as a rogue you'll still gain a little bit on your white damage when you've over cap. my dps spec runs almost 10% hit as a frost DK.

      Hi All!
First, I want to thank everyone who contributes here - this has become an outstanding resource and the fact that everyone is willing to help each other is great to see :)
So, my performance can definitely use improving all around, but most especially on multi-target fights like Illy or Cenarius.  I would love feedback for single target as well, but multi is where the biggest lift is.

      Here is my armory:

And here are logs to last week's raids:

I know uptime/active time will tie into the multi-target fight improvement, but I'm wondering if is anything else to focus on?   Best way to switch targets outside of tabbing?  Changing my setup to use gaming mouse with keybinds vs. keyboard?  Using macros and if so, what?  I currently use WA for debuff and ability warnings.
      Thanks in advance!
