[Archived] S7 Hearthstone Mid Budget Warlock Aggro Deck

This is a really terrible build. I've won one game the entirety of the evening. So I've probably lost 10. Either I'm getting bad draws, or this build sucks.

Hey, Beard

Unfortunately I can't offer you any constructive feedback unless you provide me with a good example. Aggressive Warlocks are often dependent on a good draw against certain control decks, however you shouldn't lose 10 games in a row to a bad draw.

Hello there! Before i start i just wanted to let you know that i love your builds for the different heroes, and it has helped me alot.

I saw this warlock deck and thought it seemed cool, so i crafted a few cards, even though i couldnt afford every single of them. I changed a couple of cards because of this, and i dont know if it ruins the wholde build. im finding myself losing alot more with this deck, than with the mid budget rogue build, which i have completed and is identical to your build. Here is my current warlock deck:

2x Soulfire
1x Mortal coil
1x Blood imp
1x Flame imp
2x Voidwalker
2x Shattered sun cleric
2x Harvest golem
1x Leeroy jenkins
1x Jaraxxus (had to) :)
2x Argent commander
1x Power overwhelming
2x Demonfire
2x Defender of argus
1x Knife juggler
1x Gnomish inventor
1x Shadowflame
1x Onyxia
2x Faerie dragon
2x Leper gnome
2x Loot hoarder

Is there anything i should change here (That doesnt cost too much dust) Is there anything thats ruining the deck? I am a pretty new Hearthstone player so i dont know so much about it, so please leave me some feedback on what i should do with the build.

Sincerely: Manly

Hey, Manly,

The deck you pasted is starting to look great, however you will need to polish a few details.

You are leaning towards aggression, however some of your choices don't go hand in hand with your deck's tempo. I understand Jaraxxus and Onyxia seem powerful to you, however with a deck that is this aggressive, they will be a dead card in your hand in 99% of the cases. You should swap them out.

Gnomish Inventor may seem decent and it actually is, however not in aggressive decks or any deck above low budget for that matter. You should swap it out.

Blood Imp, Flame Imp, Power Overwhelming are your "core cards" make sure you get 2 of each asap.

Knife Juggler is really powerful in this deck, you should consider getting a second one.

If you are limited with dust, I would suggest taking out the cards I mentioned, get your core cards all x2 and potentially include a Dark Iron Dwarf in.

If you make the changes I suggested, you will need to take out 2 additional cards. I personally would take out 2x Demon Fire or 2x Shattered Sun Cleric and add that 1 Dark Iron Dwarf.

2x Soulfire
2x Mortal coil
2x Blood imp
2x Flame imp
2x Voidwalker
2x Harvest golem
1x Leeroy jenkins
2x Argent commander
2x Power overwhelming
2x Demonfire
2x Defender of argus
1x Knife juggler
1x Shadowflame
2x Faerie dragon
2x Leper gnome
2x Loot hoarder
1x Dark Iron Dwarf

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Poyo

Thanks alot dude! This helped me alot, I did some research on onyxia and i quickly found out that it wasnt such a good card as i thought :) I disenchanted it and crafted the remaining imps and the knife juggler :) Ive been winning alot more lately and i have now a better understanding about what an "aggro deck" is. Thanks you so much :)

But i have one more question for you :D How far do you think this deck could you, past rank 10? (if played correctly ofc) :) And should my next goal be to craft sylvanas and put her in my deck?

Anyways, thanks for the great answer Poyo. You really helped me with my deck.
Sincerely Manly :)

Hello,

I dont have Sylvanas, so I thought about Faceless Manipulator in the meanwhile. What do you think?

By the way, I was thinking about including another Power Overwhelming (because we have 2 shadowflames in the deck and Leeroy to perfect the combo)... what do you think? Should I remove 1 voidwalker or 1 Faerie for example?

Oh! I forgot to mention that other alternatives that I have instead of Faceless Manipulator are: Gruul, Ravenholdt Assassin and Baron Geddon.

I was thinking about crafting Sylvanas, and in case it is absolutely necessary in this deck, maybe I will, but I'd like to keep the dust in case I need to improve my Shaman deck (my priority).

Thank you very much!

This deck should go to Rank 5, however to get to legendary it would require a lot of grinding and it depends on the meta game.

Sylvanas is not obligatory. I would advise against Faceless Manipulators - you are playing an aggressive deck and Faceless Manipulator shines in late game.

Should you have problem getting last few cards to complete the deck, you can easily put in an extra Dark Iron Dwarf, Mortal Coil or Power Overwhelming.

Hope this helps,
Best of luck,
Poyo

Ey, Poyo,

Thank you very much. Finally I got Sylvanas and a few more cards, so now I can even craft 2x Molten Giant to make the legendary one, but I'll play this aggro version for a while and the control shaman version.

Thanks a lot again for the help wink.png

Played this Mid Budget Warloc Aggro deck from Rank 12 (0 stars) and finished with rank 11 (3 stars). Winning 7 out of 3

Game 1 - vs Druid - Loss - Turn 9

Game 2 - vs Shaman - Loss - Turn 10

Game 3 - vs Warloc - Win - Turn 6

Game 4 - vs Priest - Win - Turn 6

Game 5 - vs Paladin - Win - Turn 7

Game 6 - vs Shaman - Loss - Turn 10

Game 7 - vs Mage - Win - Turn 5

Game 8 - vs Priest - Win - Turn 4

Game 9 - vs Shaman - Win - Turn 6

Game 10 - vs Warloc - Win - Turn 5

Things went bad the first 2 games, druid taunted too hard and the shaman won with 1 health remaining, i couldn't draw soulfire to end him sadly.

I learned that you must be very selective with your starting hand, aim to put pressure ASAP, meaning try to get as many 1 mana cost as you can in ur starting hand, i found that leeroy jenkins with one or two voidwalkers is pretty much game over for the opponent never lost when i drew that.

You will murder opponents super early with the right hand, as you can see i defeated a priest on turn 4. I used flameimp turn 1, and demonfire turn 2 and just went to town, by the time he got around to getting rid of flameimp i had done way too much damage.

On average with a good draw you can expect to win mid-game. Shaman's gave me the most trouble their cards are practically build to counter this deck but decks that can't quickly remove your minions early are in for a world of hurt.

I enjoyed playing this deck a lot but i do feel that it is very hit or miss depending strongly on your starting hand to establish itself

im trying this deck out now that I have the cards to make it. it says:

"Dire Wolf Alpha and Dark Iron Dwarf can increase the offensive potential of your minions, which can often allow you to make a favourable trade, especially when used with your Divine Shield minions."

but dark iron dward isn't on the card list. was that a mistake what was meant instead?

Thank you for noticing this. Dark Iron Dwarf is not meant to be in the deck. It's been fixed :)

Today, we're recapping the four Shaman cards revealed by Gamespot. We also have some dev clarifications on how they work.
If you missed our previous Warrior recap, you will find it here.

What a way to kick things off; this card looks insane! The dream is that Drakuru takes out two of your opponent’s minions, resurrects them on your side, and survives combat somehow. You’re looking at a 5-for-1 exchange on board.
In the more likely scenario that it doesn’t survive, that’s still a complete flip of the board state. Even if it’s trading into a single big minion on the opponent’s side, that’s still a 2-for-1, with that 1 on your side being a big tough-to-kill minion. The only worry is that there will sometimes be late-game scenarios where the 6/8 stat line won’t be enough to get you any resurrections, but I’m hopeful those are few and far between.
Still, even if the Big Shaman archetype doesn’t catch on for Shaman, I expect this card, in particular, to find a home in Renathal Control Shaman lists. This card is doing much of the same work that Sylvanas and Insatiable Devourer are without having to run through the trouble of infusing first.

Once again, another big expensive card and a solid showy effect to go along with it. Obvious deathrattle/reborn synergy, as well as good with big minions in general. At 10 cost, it will take up your entire mana pool for the turn, though there are things you can do to play around that as a shaman.
We’ve gotten some clarification from the devs on the mechanics of this one:
All the copies summoned die at the end of the effect trigger after having attacked. Unfortunately, it won’t be some corruption-style aura effect that a cheeky Showstopper effect can silence off. Your copies are made from your hand from left to right until no more board spaces are available. Beware that Colossals will summon their appendages and take up potential board space from your other copies. Windfury minions will only attack. Sorry Drakuru, no double freebies for you ? Minions that enter Dormant won’t attack, but they won’t die either! The interaction of getting free dormant minion copies on board is interesting, but is there enough to build a deck around? In standard, there is Gangplank, Slimescale, and Pelican Divers, but outside of From De Other Side “synergy,” they might not be worth it. In Wild, at the very least, there is meme potential with getting Magtheridion and The Darkness out with this and getting their battlecries to awaken both copies when you play them out the turn after.
There’s obvious synergy with the other big cards revealed here, with Prescience loading up your hand with some beefy bois, getting get off reborn, lifesteal and deathrattle value, summon a minion from Overlord Drakuru.

That’s a lot of keywords for a single card, but they work together to become the stuff of nightmares for any board-based aggro deck. Taunt and lifesteal make this a nightmare to trade into, and even with enough removal to clear the main body and the reborn one, the deathrattle effect still will hit for 3 twice and heal you for 6. So while the 3 attack won’t be anything to write home about, plopping this down will buy you a good deal of time. There’s also the possibility to make use of the leftover reborn 3/1 body to evolve into a 9 or 10 drop.

This card will get you 2 Mana 2/3 Ghostly Apparitions with the Undead minion type, which can matter for cards like Unliving Champion, or Invincible, for instance. Suppose you trigger the secondary ability here both times. In that case, that’s a pretty sweet deal right there, advancing a Big Shaman win con in 2 ways: The taunt on the Ghostly Apparitions advances your gameplan of stalling the game out until you can stabilize on board enough to play the 5+ Mana minions you’ve tutored out of the deck.
We’ve theory crafted 3 potential builds that can use this package of Shaman cards.
First, consider diving head first into the Big Shaman theme, bringing in Vanndar Stormpike and forgoing all other sub-5 cost minions to get max value out of Prescience and From De Other Side. We’re also going to run with the evolve subtheme to take advantage of any leftover bodies that we might get from Stoneborn General, Overlord Drakuru, or Blighblood Berserkers. The departure of the Knights of the Frozen Throne set will make evolving 10 drops better again now that there are no more Snowfury Giants in the Evolve pool, and we get to re-roll for the generally better bodies from the 10 costs. We’re adding in some early-game removal to compensate for the lack of early drops so we can better survive the early game.

Next, let’s try to use the standard Renathal Control Shaman archetype that’s doing rather well in the meta as a starting point. One safe idea is to look at slotting Overlord Drakuru and potentially Brightblood Berskerker and From De Other Side into this standard XL Renathal Control Shaman as ways of fighting back on board while getting your infuse cards stacked up.

We could instead also try and drop all the duplicates from the list and convert it into a Reno deck, as the deck was already playing a lot of one-offs. That gives us just enough room for one of each of these bad boys, which together with Reno will up the turnaround potential of the deck at the cost of a little bit of consistency. Doing so we can end up with this list:

      AECAaoICunQBMORBKeNBK/ZBNnsA/rsA4qSBfuRBYfUBKrZBArG+QOs7QS12QTgtQS22QTblATGzgTj9gOGoQX4oAUA
Why not use both and make it a Reno-thal deck? Prescience and Windchill will try to compensate for the loss of card draw from droping one copy of Gorloc Ravager and Famished fool. We are adding in Convincing Disguise to have still enough evolve effects around. The idea of including Bracing Cold and Far Sight is to hopefully discount From De Other Side or the evolve cards so we make use of any leftover bodies in the same turn. Ozumat’s in here not just to get us up to 40 cards, but because it’s a near guaranteed board clear combo with From De Other side, if you manage your hand and board space just right, that leaves you with all its appendages afterward.
