Horrific Visions Research: All Talents Detailed

Recommended Posts

ydBG3lz.jpg

Today we're looking at the research tree for Horrific Visions coming in Patch 8.3.

Horrific Visions are a new feature of Patch 8.3 where you visit alternate realities of Orgrimmar and Stormwind, where N'Zoth was victorious, and your goal is to complete as many side objectives as possible to earn better rewards before defeating the mini-boss.

Horrific Visions are revolving around a resource calls Sanity, which must be maintained at a reasonable level, because you will be automatically teleported outside of the Horrific Vision when it reaches zero.

To help us with that, we've got a new Legendary Cloak from Wrathion which comes with a protection against Sanity-draining effect (Blacktalon's Experimental Protection Blacktalon's Experimental Protection) and a Titanic Research Archive which gradually trivializes Horrific Visions and allows you to delve deeper into these visions on successive visits.

You will earn Corrupted Mementos in these visions which will be analyzed by MOTHER to strengthen your defenses against his corruption. You can then use them as a resource for talent research.

Titanic Research Tree

The tree was shown briefly during the Visions of N'Zoth Content Preview and has five tiers of research.

I can already hear Wayne June speaking metaphors in the background when that triggers.

What I seemed to miss so far is the reward system of the new "mage tower", that is more chromie-scenario then mage tower imo? I don't see much point in doing so if I just upgrade the legendary cloak for the last phase of the addon? In legion the legendaries were frustrating from the start at least x-(.

Like is there something that stays in this BFA-Addon? My guess is Azerite goes, Essences go (why unlock rank4 essences then?).

Well from the youtube vids and Blizzard commentary we are suppose to get other rewards from doing these but the reward list has not been revealed in full depth.

-_- wow new bullshit incoming

I too hate when they try to give us content. It's a seemingly fun bit of side content that we haven't fully seen yet and for all we've seen, is completely optional.

It's going to help even outside of scenarios. Those scenarios are one of major features of this patch, so I wouldn't really call them optional. And we're getting more time-gating in form of research. Can't say I'm fond of that.

There's a vendor on PTR in the Chamber selling gear for the items you get at the end of your Horrific Vision runs.

I know that. What I mean is more like the artifact appearances. They were for so many classes great. They stick around in BFA and all coming addons probably. They took artifact abilities from us. They will take essences from us completely as far as it appears for me at least (so I still don't understand the rank4 essence visuals).

So since this is the last content chunk probably, I am just wondering why they dont make something similar to the successes  of legion. I think BFA is just a way worse legion so far. By far.

Cache of Timewarped Treasures obtained from Black Temple Timewalking quest this week has a chance to contain Ashes of Al'ar!
Don't forget to complete this week's Timewalking raid! If you're having trouble getting into a group, create your own one, invite 2 tanks 4-5 healers and around 14 DPS and you are all set! Visit Shattrath, and talk to the Timewalking NPC to queue up for the raid.
The raid is extremely easy to compete and what's more, you get item level 493 loot along your way.
Upon defeating Illidan Stormrage and completing the quest, you will receive Cache of Timewarped Treasures that has an increased chance of containing Ashes of Al'ar or another piece of gear.
Demon Hunters shouldn't forget to get their warglaives transmog arsenal from Illidan and the reputation buff will help you add a couple of mounts to your collection!

Tama's Dragonflight Helper is a Weakaura that displays a weekly to-do list in the game and it's been updated for Dragonflight Season 4!
The WeakAura is very useful for keeping track of everything in the game at max level. It shows you a to-do list with the weekly tasks, provides you with the locations of rares, super rares, information about your current Renown standing, and more.

You will find Tama's Dragonflight Helper at wago.io. Please note that you must first download and install WeakAuras 2 to import the string.

Cataclysm's Grim Batol has been added to the Mythic+ Dungeon rotation in The War Within Season 1, and one boss received a brand new model recently on the Alpha.
General Umbriss, the first boss of the dungeon, got a shiny new model, which is quite different from his previous one. Below is a screenshot of the old a new model.

Blizzard have clarified why players are able to get a full Spark of Awakening through the two available Splinters in the first week of Dragonflight Season 4, and it seems it's only for this week and only due to catch-up rules being enabled!
      Splintered Spark (Source)
Just want to confirm this with some details.
Everyone essentially started Season 4 in catch-up mode. Players were able to get 1 Splintered Spark of Awakening from the weekly quest, whether that’s the weekly “Last Hurrah” quest or the PvP weeklies offered by Malicia.
And then you’re able to get another splinter / half-spark from any valid catch-up sources, such as Mythic+, Awakened Raids, and PvP wins.
Next week and thereafter, only one Splintered Spark is obtainable every week. And like Seasons 2 and 3, with the increasing cap on Splintered Sparks per week, and if you ever fall behind you will be able to get Splintered Sparks from any catch-up source.
