More Feedback for Future Video Guides

8 posts in this topic

We have released a second video, this time about Cloud Serpent Riding:

We did a number of changes that you guys and our designer friend Michael Oglesby suggested.

With the release of 5.0.4 so close, we are going to have to delay the release of new video guides by 2 weeks.

In any case, what do you think of this new video? Any suggestion as to how we could improve the sound, especially to make all the spoken segment to sound the same (they haven't been recorded in a single pass).

The video is fine, but I think this was mainly made to test the voice in the video.

The voice is nice and clear, well pronounced. If possible, you could try to make it sound a bit less 'hollow'. I'm no sound expert, so I don't know how to do that, but that may require specialist equipment that you don't want to use.

As an example, on the radio newsreaders are usually transmitting through a double isdn-line instead of a single (correct me if I'm wrong). This makes it sound much more like the person is standing next to you instead of reading in a small booth far away.

But, this is all nitpicking from me, the video and sound are all very nice. I'm looking forward to all the video's!

Thank you the the comment! I have to agree that the sound could be a lot better, so we decided to invest in better hardware. We will see how much of an improvement we get.

The videos are looking great!

I think that along with your well written in depth written guides there will only be one site I need to come to when researching fights from now on...

Are you expecting to get guides for Mogu'shan vaults out before it opens on live realms?

Many thanks for the guides and I hope the video editing goes well for you!

Thank you! :)

Our Mogu'shan Vaults guides will definitely be out before the expansion is released (so one week before the raid is released). We even hope to have the time to make a few video guides. This time around, none of the abilities from normal 10-man and 25-man are missing from LFR, so we will easily get all the footage we need ;)

And we will also have guides for the outdoor bosses.

I have mayby a question and a comment Posted Image, nothing bad but first the comment as i saw in the video is that in the left bottom corner the logo of icy veins stands i have nothing against this but i personally find it somethimes disturbing, so mayby make it smaller or leave it Posted Image you can putted at the end of the vid in or at the start mayby . Now my question is can't you make any class rotation guides that you can also see it, i mean reading it is 1 but seeing is 2. Because i somethimes have to see something visual to know if i'm doing it correctly. For exemple show the Rotation of a fire mage on dummies with some movement invloved in it like your hitting a raid boss? Posted Image

with more questions your free to mail me or put a post below :P

I don't think we'll do class videos, honestly. For the logo, we'll work on making it smaller ;)
