gruneholde 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 So here's the deal my fellow knights of death: Recently managed to get 14/14 N (HURRAAAAAH) and was thinking with my raid leader if we should start hc progress.I think i read a topic on IV about blood dk's reforging-gemming for avoidance (even saw ppl using Rune of the Fallen Crusader instead of Rune of the Stoneskin Gargoyle) on hc instead of the "mastery goes first" policy which was quite common during normal progress.what do you think ? link to armory:http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/ragnaros/Vrariny/simple P.S : i'm aware of the 0.06% under the cap hit rating but have found it negligible Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The avoidance setup is a balanced defense/offense, which basically means you can push more tankDPS without sacrificing all of your survivability. Also, dont reforge into dodge if you're able to forge into parry. Due to parryhaste and the SoB mechanics parrystacking is more beneficial than balancing the DR. Storm 426 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 Definitely use Fallen Crusader over Stoneskin Gargoyle. Fallen crusader gives you damage reduction through parry when it procs, self healing, and a dps boost from the bonus strength. The 2% stam from Stoneskin will barely make a noticeable difference in any fight, and 4% armor is like a 1% damage reduction at most. The only other rune I would consider is swordshattering for the constant 4% parry. As for Mastery Vs. avoidance, stick with mastery if you're just starting out heroics since it will make your damage intake smoother. Once you start to outgear the content then you can switch to more avoidance for higher dps. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Storm 426 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 no, I haven't been raiding for about a month, so I'm logged out in all my highest ilvl gear just to jack up my ilvl. sadly though, my DW frost offspec does currently have a HW tank axe and agility sword.
