An idea for an addon to evaluate you raid performance.

Recommended Posts

Ok. A while back Akraen made a spreadsheet that evaluated your single target 'rotation' on Malkorok.

Could the same concept be integrated into an addon? It could scan the combat log and when you leave combat it could show you your Bomb and Invoker uptime. Your missed Pyro/BrainFreeze/Icelance casts. Your Potion, Alter Time, Icy Veins, Arcane Power, Combustion uptime. Maybe it could even show how many globals you wasted during the encounter.

Maybe even an RNG buster, that shows how much you crit vs your crit percentage/rating.

I have very limited expertise at addon making and this is well beyond my capabilities. However if someone with a bit more knowledge could use this idea it, in my opinion, would be the best way to evaluate your aid performance.

You can monitor that same exact data with logs. The only benefit an addon would have over that is that you could monitor your performance during the raid (say, in-between wipes) rather than at the end of it.

Quite honestly, for most people i feel like logs are enough.

If you enable live logging, you can also analyze this during wipes by alt-tabbing. With warcraft logs you could setup a bunch of bookmarked pins to track all the things that you are interested in and load them for the log that you are interested in.

Way back when there was a version of Recount that monitored uptimes and you could enable a graph.

I bet if I can find the old lua for that, I could modify it for mage stuff to provide real-time monitoring.

This is a good idea. I don't know when I'll have time for it, but I could make it a goal to do this during our long road to WoD.

Yeah, debuffs. Recount actually showed uptimes. Back then I used it to monitor my rip, rake, and savage roar uptimes.

I could potentially modify DroodFocus or TMW to take refresh actions and add it to a running total, and divide out from a combat start timestamp.

This'll take some investigation to find the best way to achieve a good result. I'll see what I can find.
