1 post in this topic

In our first Hearthstone Video of the Week, we present you a mash-up video of funny and unlucky moments from various Hearthstone matches. In future Video of the Week features, we will focus on more educational and insightful videos, but the occasional fun video will always have its place!

As we announced not too long ago, we are going to increase the number of regular features on the site. One such feature is the Hearthstone Video of the Week. Mostly, we will try to find educational and insightful videos to present each week, but this first we chose a fun video instead.

The video is a mash-up of funny (and mostly extremely unlucky) moments from various Hearthstone streamers and YouTubers, put together by Trolden, whose YouTube channel has many Hearthstone videos.

Go ahead and browse Trolden's other Hearthstone videos, and you will, no doubt, be vigorously entertained.

DrHippi has won the Europe Summer Championship by beating GeorgeC in the final. He is the tenth qualifier for the World Championships at BlizzCon in November.
DrHippi and GeorgeC came into the event as the two biggest names, as we highlighted in our preview. Each of the players had already reached a Championship event in 2016, and their meeting in the final was something many people wanted to see. They are both known for their strong Freeze Mage play, and DrHippi surprised everyone by bringing Tempo Mage to the event. This was rewarded at the start of the final as he beat GeorgeC's Freeze Mage to take the early lead.
GeorgeC struggled to get a win with his Mage, and proceeded to fall 3-0 behind after losing to Shaman and Druid, before finally averting the sweep by taking a victory over Rogue. The deficit was too large to overcome however, and DrHippi took the match 4-2. GeorgeC will have another chance to qualify for BlizzCon at the Last Call event in October. DrHippi will have his chance to get revenge on Naiman at BlizzCon. Naimain beat him in the Winter Championship final.
The decklists for the event are available on Blizzard's blog

IGN have conducted a very interesting interview with Designers Mike Donais and Dean Ayala regarding the health of Hearthstone at the moment.
The article covers a lot of the questions that have been raised by the community recently. Donais admits there is more Shaman on ladder than he would like right now, but seems comfortable waiting to see if it dies down when players stop experimenting with new builds (Presumably with regards to Spirit Claws). He talks a bit about Priest, and the implication is that Priest will probably be helped in the next set.
He also comments on Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, saying "Yogg-Saron is definitely on our radar." This is probably no real cause for excitement just yet, but it's good to see that they are taking a look. The whole article, in fact, is a reminder of how much the design team are constantly monitoring all kinds of statistics. It is also good that they are aware of which current decks that require high skill caps, as many players believe that Hearthstone needs high skill cap decks to be credible as an esport.
      Iksar  (Dean Ayala)
Yeah, like the Raging Worgen Warrior, Anyfin Paladin, Miracle Rogue, Freeze Mage is still being played, and this Malygos Druid, and all of those decks are very very complex, and all have some amount of success on ladder right now.  The second half of the article talks in-depth about the how the changes to the Arena were made. As always, it is fascinating to read how the design team reaches their decisions.

Trolden has released episode 185 of his Funny and Lucky Moments series.
I mentioned in my review of episodes 183 and 184 that I thought the quality had gone up recently, and this episode continues the trend. There are a couple of Yogg clips, but the animations provided hint that Trolden knows that these are almost at self-parody levels now.
The first clip is spectacular, and very much in keeping with the last two weeks. I'm also always a big fan of people being punished for their mistakes, as the Shaman is in the later clip.
With the first mentions from Blizzard that Yogg-Saron, Hope's End is being looked at, Trolden might have to make the most of Yogg while he can.
