Hey, i wanna ask about Kennyloggins, who helped with a guide for hunters, on site it says crit>haste>mastery in stat priority, but on armory he's going haste>crit>mastery himself. So whats the priority now?

Kenny is in BM gear on his armory. For Beast Mastery, Critical Strike Rating is the best secondary stat until you reach very high gear levels (nearly BiS), at which point Haste Rating pulls ahead. We mention this on the BM BiS page.

I gotta say that a lot of glyph data is not updated for 5.4

Someone in charge should go through the entire hunter guides and make sure that they are actually updated for 5.4 - especially the sections such as glyphs.

Hey guys.....

i just need to say something.....maybe insane.....

but please take a few hours and re-write this MM-Hunters guide.....

i mean....damn.....my MM is about 10gearscore-points behind some

top class BM and SV hunters, and my dmg is about 5-10% higher.....

and you don´t speak about haste.....man take around 13k haste and

THEN go on crit.....

Raid-XP > math.....

Maybe you should think about talents choice.....Thrill is the best

DPS-Boost for this spec...espacially in an 3+ target AOE fight.

Maybe all hunters should think about their spec and don´t follow this

"oh man SV is a playable spec now, LETs PLAY SV!"-S****

Stat Priority for Marks Hunter on AskMrRobot says that in 5.4, Haste is now more effective than Crit.

Please update the guide for 5.4 (October).  Aimed shot got a huge buff.

Just a suggestion here:  In sustained multi-target situations (3-4+ targets), using fervor allows for a bunch more multi-shots in a short period, giving MM a huge multi target burst.  Might also want to emphasize using/delaying Rapid Fire for AoE burst.  With fervor and rapid fire, your base focus regen is at least 14 focus per second.

For sustained multi-target (15-20 sec):

1. Spam Multi-Shot (Bombardment should be up within 1 or 2 uses) until focus drained

2. Fervor & Rapid Fire (macro'd)

3. Continue spamming Multi-Shot

This greatly reduces the amount of steady shot's you will need to use.

MM stat priority is haste >= crit >>>> mastery. I definitely suggest going over to askmrrobot and using his weights for reforging. And a BM hunter of same ilvl and skill will almost always beat out a MM hunter in SoO in dps, that's just how this expansion is.

Hi,

I'm still a bit confused about the stats priority. The guide says haste > crit, but the gem page says the agility+crit gem is the way to go for orange sockets?

Also, the rotation page says that "Aimed shot it more or less the best choice for all situations." That sounds rather... vague. Every other guide I can find says to use Aimed Shot above 80% and Arcane shot below 80% hp.I was hoping someone could clarify this for me or direct me to a website where I can find some more detailed info.

Thanks in advance!
K

This guide really needs to be re-vamped, why is no-one commited on the 4pc Tier 16 bonus?! And Chimera Shot straight after pull?! Serpent Sting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 4pc is absolutely incredible for BM and SV, but not quite so useful for MM. I mean, sure, taking aimed shots cast time down to just over the GCD is nice after each free one, but still costs 50 focus. As for getting serpent sting up on pull vs delaying it a few sec for the opener, as long as you uptime is as close to 100% as it can be for the fight, you're good. SS doesn't do anything special fr MM, so loosing a few seconds of it for a better opener is just fine.

What do you mean when you say 'no-one commited on the 4pc'? Also as Orthios said above, losing 1-2 ticks of SS isn't noticable at all, plus doing a chimera shot at the start of the pull allows you to deplete all your focus, so that you can use fervor instantly, and also do 2xsteady shots without capping your focus (using AMoC as well in between).

Fixed the gemming now.

As for the Aimed Shot vs Arcane Shot, currently the 2 aren't too far from each other when you have no haste buff. In general you should try to use Aimed Shots over Arcane Shots regardless, but there are some situations where using Arcane Shot isn't bad either. For example if an add is about to die, you shouldn't try to cast an Aimed Shot, which might not even finish by the time it is dead. Also, if you know that there is a phase where you need to push dps as hard as possible, it is better to use Arcane Shots before that in order to get your Rapid Fire ready, since both Arcane Shot and Aimed Shot reduce the cooldown of Rapid Fire for the same amount, but Arcane Shot costs 20 focus less, it is worth to use it. An example for that would be on Garrosh, when you are pushing the boss into phase 3, before you do that, you should try to have Rapid Fire ready, because p3 is the hardest phase.

SV is definitely crit>haste>mastery, while MM is more of Crit=Haste>>>>> Mastery.  More haste provides a smoother rotation when using Aimed shoot as your focus dump, while crit gives better piercing shots uptime.  As for mastery, SV's increase magic damage done and although it is lowest priority for stats, it's not bad overall and you aren't punished for having it.  However, for MM, mastery is worth next to nothing.  A higher chance to deal 80% auto shot damage isn't going to be near as useful as having faster Aimed shot and better piercing shots uptime.

Hello Orthios ( and everybody that would want to help me biggrin.png ).

I have a question. I have noticed that haste was really smooth for a marksmanship. I first went with crit priority then I switched to haste. When I saw that Mr.robot didn't use the haste build anymore, I switched back to crit. I didn't like it and rebuild to haste again.

I agree with you in the last comment that more haste provides a smoother rotation for Aimed Shot.

Here's my question.

With the bonus two piece set from SoO, which reduces the cd of rapid fire each time I use Aimed shot, would it be better to use haste > crit?

I'm still trying to manage my haste/crit on ask mr.robot to find the ratio I like the most. At the moment, I'm using 2.45 haste vs 2. 2 crit, and I'm not sure I want to keep it that way.

What do you think?
