Fury warrior needs help with dps

24 posts in this topic

Hey, I feel as though my dps is a little low using the rotation from this website. Based on these logs what do you guys think I could do differently to improve my dps?

Armory: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/illidan/Kaqn/simple

Logs: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/ghtjyprra99i64bb/analyze/dd/source/?s=1585&e=1803

Please feel free to look at other logs from other bosses if you have the time, all help is appreciated.

                                  Thanks in Advance!!

You have FFC equipped. Unless you want to scumbag rankings (which honestly you shouldn't do as long as you're progressing on some fights) REMOVE THAT TRINKET.

CS usage looks fine. Use Stormbolt more. Since you don't have EEoG, you should use Stormbolt on cooldown. Every other once should be within CS.

You wasted 3 RBs, by the looks of it during execute phase. Use RB as a filler outside of CS when the boss is sub-20%.

You seem to be generating very few RBs outside of CS however. Make sure you use BT on CD, especially outside CS.

HS/WS balance seems sweked towards the HS side. Make sure you use WS instead of HS outside of CS, when you can.

You missed on a Cooldown usage during execute.

Also, you are not using potions. Try to use Mad Hozen's Elixir instead of the Str flask if you can. They drop when you die, but they're usually much cheaper than flasks anyway, and crit is better than Str for you.

Don't hesitate to post logs next week (ideally IJ or Malkorok if you have the chance), that way we can keep working on improving your damage.

hey ragebarr, I have a question. Is there any reason why, looking at the graph, after a burst section my damage bottoms out really hard? is that just gear? or am I doing something wrong?

It is normal that your damage drops after CS. Yours does look kinda lower than usual though. Might be because of gear, but could also be because your rotation outside of CS isn't as good as it should be.

If you can give me a Warcraftlogs link too, instead of a worldoflogs one, I can get a lot more from it.

is 7.05%exp ok for OH or should i replace a str/crit gem to get it closer to cap?

Try to get as close and/or over expertise & hit cap for both weapons. If you're an orc and using an axe in 1 hand, it might mean you're effectively wasting your racial, but it's still better than missing/getting dodged.

You still have Fusion Fire Core... >=(

Looking at Malkorok, since it's the one where you should be moving the least. Here's what I found, more or less in disorder:

CS usage looks fine, as before, but you're still not using SB enough. You could've used SB 7 times, even without EEoG, but you only used it 7 times. Remember, without Galakras' trinket just use SB on cooldown. Every other use should end up within a CS.

WS/HS balance looks much better.

You only lost 1 RB charge, so that's really good, and a small improvement over last time.

Your BT usage and RB generation look fine, except at 1 moment during the fight where it looks like you stood around not doing anything. I will assume you were out of melee range soaking a pool, but if it wasn't that, fix it.

Your enrage uptime looks OK, but you seem to be losing on it a bit during Execute. You should never prioritize Execute over BT, unless you're within CS and you have Berserker Rage available to keep you enraged.

Save your 2nd potion and use it together with your 2nd Reck/Skull Banner. You pretty much wasted it on Malk.

Overall, it already looks much better!

I've been trying to get another trinket since you told me to replace it, no luck :\ ..my only other 2 trinkets are tanking trinkets lol

Yeah, I noticed that i should be using execute in cs with enrage up earlier this morning when I was looking over the logs

2nd potion was me being bad and hitting the wrong bind lol

Thanks for the input, will work on these things tonight.

No. 4pc is barely a DPS gain, and that's before factoring the fact that 2 of our tier pieces are horribly itemized.

Also, if you still have a ToT trinket or something, it's very probably better than FFC for single target.

I'll have more time tomorrow to look at that in detail. Doesn't look like you did too bad to me, especially compared to your teammates.

Hey, sorry for the delay. Didn't feel like looking at logs on Friday, and now I need to look at 3 today. That'll teach me. >.<

Anyway, looking at your log there's mainly 2 things I see:

First, you could've used Stormbolt 3 more times. As long as you don't have an EEoG, use it on CD.

Second, your Berserker Rage usage was horrible. You used it once during the whole fight, but there are still a couple times where you weren't enraged for CS, and you could've used it there to increase your enrage uptime.

The rest doesn't look too bad. You wasted a couple RBs, so that could be better, but nothing to panic about. Your 2nd CD use was done slightly after you hit CS. Normally, you want to hit your CDs right as you hit CS.
