Guardian druid question - Patch 5.0.4 changes

Recommended Posts

Before 5.0.4 I used to have 210k HP and something close to 39% dodge while in bear form. Now my HP and dodge droped to 190k and 21%. Is that right? I mean, i haven't changed anything in my gear (apart from miss geming my ring (parry?! wth?)).

Im not having big troubles to stay alive (but then again, heal is off the charts in this patch) and to keep aggro. But those stats just doesn't seem right to me. Specially when i look at other tanks whose HP stayed well above 210k.

This is my toon: http://us.battle.net...iqueto/advanced

Forgive me if you see it specd as a healer, thats my main function within my core.

Thanx for any help and forgive my bad english...

This is normal. The dodge chance change is due to the different diminishing returns on statistics in Mists of Pandaria (as well as a change to how much dodge you get from Agility as a Bear). The health change is due to the loss of stats from the old Heart of the Wild talent, and other minor changes to your passive abilities.

I don't know why you'd have trouble staying alive or keeping aggro. Are you using your active survival abilities as we advise in our guide? Are you using the same rotation we advise?

Regarding your survival, it might also be a case that your healers are still adapting to the new mechanics.

Anyway, if you can give us more details, perhaps we can help you further :)

Actually i'm not having too much trouble to stay alive and no trouble at all to keep aggro. And yes, follow all your guides and i'm using my survival abilities as needed. My only worry was about my stats. I kinda feel like undergeared when i look at them. Also i know that stamina isnt everything but still... looking at our pally tank having +30k HP than my self is discouraging at least.

Other than that, i feel that is so much more fun to tank as a druid now. Although i miss feral charge a lot (im using the 15% speed buff talent).

Anyway, thanks a lot for the answer and keep the excelent work! This is my all time favorite site for guides and tips.

you have to think you also lost your relic which adds a nice amount of stats right now since gear is going to make up for not having a relic in MoP

BEAR!!

Mangle is the only skill that gets activated from procs ( Faerie Fire/Swarm, Thrash, and Lacerates all activate the proc). Every cast of one of the spells listed has a 25% chance of resetting mangles cooldown. There are no ways of increasing its proc chance rate.

Since the change, the only stuff that requires rage now is: Frenzied Rejuvenation, Maul, and Savage Defense, with the only way of gaining rage is through Mangle and auto-attacks. Crits from those 2 doubles the amount of rage regenerated.

      Hi Team
I am recently returning from a few years away from the game and I have decided to go back to my much loved main throughout wrath, the feral druid. I have always been a cut above the rest and managed to be top dps all through wrath.
I was reading your guide and noticed in the talents you don't take savage roar. Can you explain the match behind this as to me it seems like the more viable option.

Hello everyone! When i downloaded the recent shadowlands expansion, i noticed that my macros no longer worked =0. This is not a single target DPS  macro, this is a Help / Harm selective macro So i did some digging to find out what was goin on, An example of this would be : /cast [help] Innervate ; [harm] Entangling Roots ; Innervate.  This macro utilizes one button for a dual purpose. if i am targeted on friend i innervate them while if i and targeting a opponent it would root them in place. This structure is now broken but has also made things easier in most cases, After doing some digging i discovered some new macros and the new format. Some examples of the new way to write this would be :
       #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]innervate
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Entangling Roots
      #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]Regrowth
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Wrath
      #showtooltip
      /cast [harm,nodead][@target,harm,nodead]Moonfire
      /cast [help,nodead][@target,help,nodead]Rejuvenation
      #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]Wild Growth
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Entangling Roots
This is what they call a fall through macro, If the first line of code is not available because of a cooldown or if the Help or Harm selection, it will fall through to the next line of code. This works especially well for balance druids, shaman, and hybrid healing classes that use a ton of buttons. You can cut the amount of keys you need press in half which saves space and prevents accidentally pressings the wrong button. I like to pair my spells by the time it takes to cast, Instant casts with instant casts. They also introduces a mouse over macro for heals and rebuffs which is really good for world PVP. One of the better macros iv'e seen is a mouse over Rebirth :
       #showtooltip Rebirth
      /cast [@mouseover,help]Rebirth;Rebirth
      #showtooltip Remove Corruption
      /cast [target=mouseover,help,nodead][target=target] Remove Corruption

If you are going to try and make your own macro, you should keep in mind
1: The Global Cool Down or GCD which is the time it takes between 2 casts and
2: Not all of your spells and trinkets share a GCD, so you are able to cast 2 or 3 spells at the exact same time as long as it doesn't share a GCD.
      I hope this helps!
