WindWalker Monk DPS Help

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have some questions about the stat priority for WW Monk at high ilvl.

Armory - http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/stormrage/%C3%82lan/advanced

I know the gems should be agility for for all red sockets I will be changing it soon.

Log - http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/4byqq34orumhhbu8/sum/damageDone/?s=877&e=1276

I have been following Hit/Exp Cap (7.5%) > Aggi > Haste > Crit > Mst up till this point but not haste is too much for me to handle.

I am wondering what other high end monks are doing for stat priorities.

I only have 2 set and I am not planing on getting 4 set.

From what I been reading up it looks like  Hit/Exp Cap (7.5%) > Aggi > Haste to 28 % > Crit to 57% (60% buffed )> Haste / Cir / Hit / Mst ?

Also any help with rotation improvement will be appreciated.

Hit/Exp Cap (7.5%) > Agi > Haste to 28% > Crit to 60% buffed > Haste / Mast / Crit / Hit

That's the way that I'd set it up.  Don't forget about Agility, which can become very good after your Crit and Haste caps!

Check out this AMR setup.  This will cap you out at 60% crit (it says 57% crit because that's what it will be after 3% boss suppression), add a TINY bit of Haste, and add a whole lot of attack power via Agility.

I would also try to swap your Assurance of Consequence with a normal or higher Ticking Ebon Detonator, as with your Haste you shouldn't need the cooldown reduction on Energizing/Fists of Fury.

I don't like going through rotational things on WorldofLogs, so if you happen to have a WarcraftLogs, or have the opportunity to log to WarcraftLogs for your next raid, let me know!  I'd also prefer to look at something like IJ or Malkorok, since Thok doesn't allow me to see how you're adhering to your Rising Sun Kick cooldown, Chi Brew usage, and etc.

I will have warcraftlogs for first 7 bosses on heroic this Tuesday for you to analyse.

back to stats,

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/stormrage/%C3%82lan/advanced

I have regemed and reforged.

Now I have 28.57% Un buffed haste and 56.61%  unbuffed crit (~63% buffed crit)

My question is does having crit over 60 % (buffed) helps in anyway ? Or 60% is the hard cap and any extra crit does not improve my chance to crit?

The soft cap refers to the point when your autoattacks will only ever Crit, Miss, or Glance, so you do gain with more Crit on your yellow attacks, but it's a much smaller benefit.

Looking forward to your logs!

Sorry about the delay!  Dealing with drama and moving.

Really good on your Rising Sun Kicks.  I see 29 out of a possible 31, and it's as close to perfect as a lot of people get!

Fists of Fury still seems a little bit high on your damage portion.  Try to only lock yourself into it when you can use the energy regen fully, and it won't clip your RSKs.  You did great with it, but I still see some opportunities for improvement

Chi Wave usage could come up a tiny bit.  I see 12 out of 16 casts.  Bringing it up closer to the theoretical max wouldn't see a HUGE increase, but it would still be an increase.

Chi Brew usage is fantastic.  Nothing to even say there.  10 stacks off the pull with trinkets, and using it on CD when you can.

Tigerseye Brew was a little awkward, with 11 uses from 96 gains.  I'm assuming that the extra uses were cutting off those last 6 stacks into the last 30 seconds, but I can't be sure.  Make sure you're only using 10 stacks, or draining stacks near the end of the fight.  There are some instances where trinkets/potions could make lower stacks viable, however.
