Subtlety bleeding and glyph

Recommended Posts

So, first post, sup guys!

~~~
I've been playing my rogue a ton lately and was looking at the damage values, and the guides around here, and I gots to thinking.
Using the Glyph of Hemorrhaging Veins Wouldn't it be more dps to skip rupture in the rotation? As rupture is notably less powerful than Eviscerate and way more wonkey to keep up than the bleed from Hemorrhage. Which we want to keep up anyway. And everything I've heard over Rupture is that we use it for the Sanguinary Vein buff. So if we can get that elsewhere I'm not sure why it's not a dps buff to just Eviscerate.
Reread Sanguinary Vein for your answer!
That 50% is a huge gain, and you should see the average Rupture being equal to about 1.2x the average Evis.
I can understand that, but if that's the case, why hold rupture until after Garrote expires?  Wouldn't you want to get 5pt SnD asap then 5pt Rupture  and fill with Eviscerate?
Yes. I'd usually open with 2x Ambush, then Hemo, 5cp SnD, 5cp Rupture, and by then Find Weakness should be running out, so you can hit Shadow Dance/Blades and continue along your rotation.
It's a gain to maintain Hemo and Rupture both. Garrote, I don't use because of the bonus gained by Find Weakness, and it's huge value.
Not that it matters that much in the grand scheme, but ambush applies FW AFTER ambush does it's damage. For this reason it is usually better to open with garrote to active FW and SV at the same time and then continue into the rotation. SV glyph is mostly for target swapping and pvp really. The real bonus is that it gives you time to get a proper SnD and Rupture up without as much hassle.
Good point, actually.  I forgot that Garrote applies FW, and assumed it was only Ambush/Cheap Shot.
In that case, Garrote --> Ambush to open, then Hemo --> 5cp SnD --> 5cp Rupture.
Fortunately, there aren't any other really required glyphs for Sub.  I typically run it so that I have an easier time hopping on adds, especially for fights like Protectors with a rotating cast.  That, combined with the fact that a lot of rogues have issues properly rolling Rupture and the fact that using Hemo to maintain it's bleed is a gain, it's at least a zero-sum and at most a situational gain.
I'm not having too much issue managing my finishers, the biggest challenge personally is shadow dance and remembering when I need to Ambush vs Backstab. I'm so used to passive CD's that don't change my rotation much. I've played just about every class/spec except monks so I'm used to buff/debuff management. But the whole shadowdance is so alien to me... AND SO FASINATING!
