Restoration Druid 6.2

Recommended Posts

i'm going to assume that even though it takes less haste rating for 1% haste, that mastery still is going to be a very strong if not equal contender due solely because the way it affects tranquility.  Since haste no longer affects tranquility, that was the major reason for choosing mastery over haste, but even still... if all you are doing is rejuve blanket, swiftmend, wild growth,  mastery still might be a tad stronger for progression healing phases, such as butcher stacks etc.

To be honest, nothing has really changed. The Hotfix has pulled haste a bit more ahead of mastery, but the two stats are still really close together in value.

Hey guys, I asked before to get the guide edited with putting haste over mastery, but it hasn't been changed yet. I will poke again about it.

But my recommendation after the buff to haste is to go for haste, but yes as Krazyito mentioned, it's very close and most of the times it doesn't matter that much what you gem/enchant from those two.

Hello all! I just have one question about regrowth--I am not sure if I am doing it right

So I have noticed that after I glyphed regrowth, it becomes a reliable, fast and expensive heal and performs better than Healing Touch except for the higher mana cost. Recently I have been healing with regrowth a lot--soul of forest + regrowth (Nature's swiftness if needed) + living seed just seems really potent (up to 900% * regrowth's base heal) for tank healing. But is this really viable and can anyone explain why?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

What about lower level gears. Did i miss a section for that ...

Are you referring to level 100 but just lower ilvl? The same rules apply there with the stat priorities.

It's definitely viable, you lose out on another potential good Swiftmend target and some healing if your Regrowth would crit anyways. But having a guaranteed Regrowth crit all the time is not bad.

Personally I've been considering it a lot but atm I'm sticking with unglyphed.

Unless you're the sole tank healer, I think unglyphed is the way to go. Especially with rampart growth and soul of the forest.

My idea is, if you are relying on that 100% crit chance for your tank to live then he's already dead. You and your tank need to find ways to mitigate the damage more than relying on a crit, especially since it has a 60% base chance to crit anyway.

680+ r druid achived in a non hardcore guild. ( meaning we hardly ever finish a boss fight with everyone alive, due to new ppl, nerfed monk healers that now go oom  and subpar tanks) I just wanted to mention that I still struggle with mana on most fights. Fights takes longer than needed, little/no comunication between healers.  If you are in a similar situation and you come here before enchanting your gear, just go all out mastery.

I spent 50k+ gold testing and swapping chants and gems. 40+ hours  in proving ground (30+ waves without drinking). The math  may tell that haste> mastery but experience will shout you that  mastery>haste. and with new 2x set bonus x3 NS+ regrowth (it has to be glyphed)= 3 free 80k crits. As others stated before, with the actual gear available you cant spam every gcd and not go OOM even if you regen faster than the cost of HT. Also pop tree really early just to save mana on the first rejuv spam you do on raid ( for me is at least 15% mana saved)  test blooming glyph in proving grounds your jaw will drop at the meters.

2x intell trinkets+ max haste + average guild= did not work for me at all

So how does mastery work with Dream of Cenarius? If you are using that build, is it still you no.2 stat priority?

Does the baseline healing percent of direct heals buff affect the 150% value indirectly, as in, after damage+150%, does it then add X% from your mastery (direct healing %)?

Even though mastery does nothing for DoC healing, it shouldn't be something you consider. DoC is only useful for non-critical healing, phases where people don't need to be topped off right away. Doc heals EVERYONE for little. It's very spread healing that won't save anyone and is only useful for saving mana.

Don't decide Haste vs Mastery based on DoC. Do it based on mana issues, raid comp, how you heal with your Co healers, and playstyle.

can someone help to explain this sentence, under the Tier 4 talent choices:

If you have taken wow_icon_ability_druid_manatree.jpg Soul of the Forest, you will just spam wow_icon_spell_nature_wrathv2.jpg Wrath all the time, using Soul of the Forest and wow_icon_ability_druid_flourish.jpg Wild Growth on cooldown when there is raid damage.

what does having soul of the forest have to do with wrath, what is the interaction here?

Please, please remove the following part of your Resto Druid healing guide. It is completely wrong.

"It is important to note that, if you are using wow_icon_spell_nature_resistnature.jpg Glyph of Regrowthwow_icon_spell_nature_resistnature.jpg Regrowth will always have a critical effect but its HoT is no longer present. This glyphed Regrowth basically replaces wow_icon_spell_nature_healingtouch.jpg Healing Touch, being more efficient than it."

Under no circumstances is this true. Regrowth costs TWICE as much as Healing Touch to cast. It heals HALF as much as Healing Touch does without the HoT component. So for this statement to be true crits would need to have a multiplier of 4x. They do not.

Why would you use NS on Regrowth when Healing Touch crit heals for over 100k?

Because you're not guaranteed a healing touch crit..

I personally despise the glyph of regrowth because it will already crit 60% of the time anyway, plus you get the hot.

If you're relying on regrowth to crit to save a tank, then your tank is already lost.

Guest Cybac

Hi guys,

I'm doing ok with my resto druid and I'm not having mana issues but I wanted to get some "devils advocate" on what I've started testing recently and to see the opinion of other resto druids on if I've gone in a wrong direction.

So I have gone to using the Glyphed Regrowth, 2 Piece T17 bonus, ToL, HotW and Moment of Clarity. I hardly cast Healing Touch and I don't have mana issues because of the fact that I get free casts from Swiftmend on the T17 2 piece bonus, my Omen of Clarity procs and I have good mana regen. I'm hitting roughly 34k hps sustained throughout most fights which isn't too bad but I think I should be able to push more, I'm stuck around there though and don't seem to be able to push much past that. I'm geared to 689. If you want to see my armory profile my toon is Cybac of Aerie Peak of the guild Prism.

With the 2 piece bonus should I go for an unglyphed Regrowth, SotF and more HT casts to reduce the CD of Swiftmend? I'm feeling like I should be hitting more around the 40k mark at least. I've tried a few different styles and I'm quite happy to try anything as a test.

Any comments/feedback greatly appreciated.

Cyb.

I want to ask, is there still a Haste cap for Restodruids or is it just all the haste you can get!?

There is no haste cap, but you don't want to get all the haste you can get.  It depends on the gear.  usually ilvl > haste pieces will win out. Mastery is not a bad stat. and it wont make a huge difference if you have some pieces with it

So since 6.2 dropped, my regrowth no longer refreshes lifebloom.  I don't see that anywhere in the patch notes.  Maybe I am blind.  Is this happening to everyone?

What are the soft caps for haste and mastery?

In 2.1. Statistics Explanations should be mentioned that Haste does push the Heal over Time (HOT) Effect very much. I think this is very important for new players to understand that.

What dps trinkets, agil and w/e else proc are having to do with Resto gear, why are they even posted as a possible gear for resto`s?....

Should be named in the mastering your class part, that Wild Growth initially makes the most healing and then is dimishing over the duration.

Why does the guide say that swiftmend should be used on regrowth? Healing touch would be more cost effective... right?

We'd like to introduce you to a game-changing nameplate addon for Season 4 that's essential for excelling in Mythic+ dungeons.
Tracking every mob and their abilities in Mythic+ can be overwhelming, but this addon excels by replacing standard mob nameplates and cast bars to enhance your gameplay.
Once installed, mobs with critical interrupts will display a thick orange cast bar, while less crucial ones will show a thinner yellow bar.

Mobs with less crucial interrupts will have a thinner yellow cast bar.

Additionally, any mobs that inflict heavy frontal cone damage are marked with an arrow and feature orange cast bars. A voice alert will also prompt you to move by announcing "front."

The addon further assists by indicating non-interruptible spells that require crowd control with a purple cast bar and a vocal "cc" alert.

For tanks, if you're not holding aggro, the nameplates of the mobs will turn red, quickly showing you which ones to target.

There's also a handy visual cue on the cast bar, surrounded by a green border, signaling when you can interrupt an ability and your interrupt skill is off cooldown.

      Ready to try it out?
You can download Quazii Plater here.
For setup assistance, watch Quazii's comprehensive video guide.
Quazii has also created a Mythic+ cheatsheet that details all critical abilities for Season 4 dungeons, available in a text format.

Players are currently unable to catalyze gear from the Black Temple Timewalking cache into class set piece.
It's unclear whether this limitation is a bug or an intended feature, but the gear obtained from completing this week's Black Temple Timewalking quest cannot be converted into a set piece using the Revival Catalyst, as reported on Reddit.
I personally checked this at Antuka and can confirm that gear from the weekly quest cache cannot be catalyzed. I received the Grips of Damnation from the Essence boss yesterday, and found that the item was ineligible for conversion at the Catalyst.

Here's how you can upgrade your legendary weapons in Dragonflight Season 4 next week!
This one is for Fyr'alath and Nasz'uro owners. You must first farm 2 Antique Bronze Bullions. However, you can only acquire 1 Antique Bronze Bullion per week from Awakened Raid bosses. The bullion will drop in Raid Finder difficulty too.
Next week, the cap will be raised to 2 and a catch-up method will be implemented, so players who didn't have the chance to get their first bullion can get it from the weekly quest in Valdrakken.
Anyway, the soonest you can upgrade your legendary to the base item level of 502 is during the week of April 30th (so next week).
Once you have 2 Antique Bronze Bullions, head to the Parting Glass in Valdrakken.

Evokers need to buy Scale of Awakening from Iszinormi for 2 Antique Bronze Bullions. Death Knights, Paladins, and Warriors need to buy Scale of Awakening from Iszinormi for  2 Antique Bronze Bullions. Once purchased, use the consumable to upgrade your legendary to item level 502, the base item level for Season 4.
After that, you can further upgrade your legendary using Flightstones and crests. Check out our gear upgrading guide for more info!

Cache of Timewarped Treasures obtained from Black Temple Timewalking quest this week has a chance to contain Ashes of Al'ar!
Don't forget to complete this week's Timewalking raid! If you're having trouble getting into a group, create your own one, invite 2 tanks 4-5 healers and around 14 DPS and you are all set! Visit Shattrath, and talk to the Timewalking NPC to queue up for the raid.
The raid is extremely easy to compete and what's more, you get item level 493 loot along your way.
Upon defeating Illidan Stormrage and completing the quest, you will receive Cache of Timewarped Treasures that has an increased chance of containing Ashes of Al'ar or another piece of gear.
Demon Hunters shouldn't forget to get their warglaives transmog arsenal from Illidan and the reputation buff will help you add a couple of mounts to your collection!
