Assassination Rogue 6.2

So I am coming back after a long break since Data, but am I missing S&D in the opening rotation? Is it no longer a necessary buff? If so, why?

I'm not a numbers guy by any stretch so mabey someone can figure this out for me. With envenom being our single highest attack, it makes sense to me that I should pool cp up to 10 (via anticipation) before using SR macro. That would give 6-8 envenoms over 16 seconds before re applying rupture.

This is what you should do. I realise that the guide was not explicitly saying that, so I made a few changes.

New player here, why is Ambush not mentioned at all in this guide?

It does more damage than mutilate as an opener, and is a closer while costing just 5 more energy.

I am wondering why the skill Ambush is not even mentioned in the Assination guide.

It does quite a bit more damage than mutilate, generates the same number of combo points, and can be used as a closer while only costing 5 more energy.

I understand using mutilate once you are out of stealth.

You get the same benefit from Shadow Focus, so why use mutilate as your opener as implied by the suggested rotation?

### Updated 4-14-2014 ###

I read some other posts here that explained in depth why you should open with mutilate and not ambush, so no need to reply now.

What is the best way to maximize the SR macro? I realize you want to pool cp and energy but I've heard mixed reviews on if you want to rupture or how much you souks worry about clipping envenom while it's up?

Thanks

wow_icon_inv_throwingknife_06.jpgDeadly Throw will mostly be useful in PvP, against healers and casters, but it can be used to still interrupt if you messed up a wow_icon_ability_kick.jpgKick.

explanation was tweaked, advice not :3

I think it is best to ask this in the Rogue section of the forums.

Probably a stupid question, i see that mastery is my secondary stat, and i have mostly mastery on my gear anyway. I wonder I can't see Mastery: Potent Poisons.

anywhere on my rogue, not talents, not in the skills window. Where is this one?

wow_icon_trade_brewpoison.jpg Mastery: Potent Poisons

I couldn't find this one anywhere in my skill book or talents on my rogue, is this recently removed or?  It's not anywhere as a passive either.

By the way, you should add the ability_creature_poison_06.jpgMaster Poisoner to the list and not the Mastery: Potent Poisons maybe? Minior detail i know. I could'nt understand what that spell was, as it was not in my spellbook at all, but after searching a little i found the passive mentioned above which made all the more sense.

Newbie rogue here ^^

sorry if this has been asked. the opening sequence confuses me a little it says to ideally cast as many envenoms as possible before shadow drops. so do i cast alot of 1point envenoms or do i do as im currently doing and cast mutilate to 5cp then envenom? what about rupture? do i not use rupture at all while reflection is up?

Thank you in advance for the help.

Hello!

As a rookie in this section, I wanted to know exactly why 2x the same enchant on weapon is better than 1 enchant each.

For example you say:

Then why not 1x Bleeding and 1x Shattred H. as an Assassination rogue?

Thanks guys!

hi i think its literally that the 500 mastery affects ur poisons directly so you gain alot of damage from envenom and poison applications weras the proc enchant just does set damage so its not as good. but it isnt bad if its all you can afford.

I was wondering if it was viable to have 1H proc mastery buff and 1H haste buff.

It means direct dmg and more possibilities to make procs and so on to avoid internal CD to make procs wasted.

(A bit like 1H DK's in wotlk period)

So Shadow Reflection, according to sites, has 3% more dmg than Venom Rush. I however feel that I do more DPS when I use Venom rush. And also I like to go with Glyph of Energy instead of utility because it lets me do way more mutilates and Envenom. Especially if you have the set bonus. And I have on my rogue 690 ilvl so the Shadow Reflection might do more when you have higher gear but at lower ilvls I really suggest you guys try out Venom Rush especially if there are more targets!

If it is possible i would like to see the stat priority weights don't know if you have that or not

Quick question, the stat priority only has additional information for T17, does that mean with T18 it should be followed as normal?

Hello, i have a quick Question. Why should i start my Rotation with Mutilate? Why not Ambush?

Because Mutilate gives a 30% to let you use Dispatch for free. Mutilate + 30% of Dispatch damage (this gives the average damage you'll get from blindside procs over the course of the raid. Woo math) is more damage than Ambush.

Blizzard have announced that Season 4 will see an increased number of maximum Crests acquired each week, and also have the increased cap system for players that don't reach the maximum each week.
      Crests (Source)
Players can now earn up to 120 crests of each type per week in Dragonflight Season 4. This was a maximum of 90 per week in Season 3. The increase will allow for up to 8 upgrades per week, per crest type.
For players who don’t reach their maximum crest earnings in a given week, we’ve implemented the increasing-seasonal-cap system from previous seasons.
Please note that this increase is likely applicable to Season 4 only. We expect the weekly maximum to return to 90 for The War Within Season One.

Dragonflight Season 4 starts today, check out our updated to-do list to find out what's new!
      New Content Available This Week
Awakened Raids are now available! The first Awakened raid this week is Vault of the Incarnates! Proiritize clearing Vault for Season 4 loot and your first Antique Bronze Bullion. The first Catalyst charge is available today, but make sure to use it after you clear Awakened Vault to see how many tier set pieces you've acquired after your run. The final boss drops an omnitoken that all classes can roll for. Killing the final boss on Heroic Difficulty yields a token that you can exchange for 1 class set piece. Click here to learn more about Awakened Class Set acquisition methods! The item level of loot from all sources has gone up by +39 item levels in Season 4. Time Rifts, Fyrakk Assaults, and Dreamsurges now all offer better loot, compared to Season 3. If you own Fyr'alath or Nasz'uro, you can upgrade the legendaries to their S4 base Item Level (502) using Scale of Awakening that costs 2 Antique Bronze Bullion, but you can only get 1 this week. You can still upgrade S3 gear, but you can no longer acquire S3 crests. New crests are available for gear upgrading. You will find the gear upgrading brackets in our guide. New rewards await in Mythic+ Season 4! The latest PvP season also introduces new rewards and better gear. This week's bonus event is Burning Crusade Timewalking You can clear dungeons to unlock slots in the Great Vault alongside Item Level 467 loot! Complete 5 Timewalking Quests for the weekly quest to receive 1 piece of item level 493+ loot. Clear Black Temple Timewalking forI Item Level 493 loot. DHs who earned both warglaives the regular way can now obtain the Weapon Arsenal from Illidan which lets them use the legendaries for transmog. Thanks to the increased reputation buff, it's super fast this week to reach Revered with the Netherwing and add some cool mounts to your collection! In Shadowlands Season 4, we've seen Fated World Bosses, but it doesn't seem to be the case with Dragonflight Season 4, so it's not really worth killing World Bosses.
    • By Stan
Here's a reminder for all Demon Hunters! Since it's Burning Crusade Timewalking you can earn Arsenal: The Warglaives of Azzinoth from Illidan if you earned the weapons the regular way!
Make sure to run Timewalking Black Temple on your Demon Hunter this week if you've unlocked the Warglaives of Azzinoth achievement with a character that can equip them.
You need to collect both warglaives to use them for transmog and to unlock the “I'll Hold These For You Until You Get Out” achievement.
Remember, achievement credit isn't shared across your account, so you must obtain both weapons with the same character.
If you haven't acquired the regular warglaives yet, now is a great time to start farming them. That way, you'll be prepared to grab the Arsenal at the next Burning Crusade Timewalking event.
