Demonology Warlock 6.2

You mention in the section discussing set bonuses that you should just add another HoG cast with the T17 4-set and stack it to 3...as far as I can tell, the effect only stacks to 2 even with procs from the T16 4-set. The duration still refreshes, but the intensity doesn't change after the second stack is applied. If this is being remedied in 6.1, it will make it even more necessary to stack it as such, but even for the sake of maximizing uptime it's still the best thing to do. Just wanted to point this out or the sake of clarity.

During the opener of an encounter, if you do not have full demonic fury, is it better to max demonic fury before meta(for demonbolt) , or just meta as soon as the main opener is finished to start doom ticking?

These "guides" aren't really clear.

This feedback is not constructive; to make it constructive, please share what you specifically think is not clear, so that we can help make it clear for you.

I have been playing a Demo lock for sometime now and have come up with done suggestions, the first being a macro for corruption. /stopcasting /cast corruption, for the instances that your corruption need refresh your out of fury or just about to pop meta, I've been running into GCD issues as many of our talents share the same GCD. Two of those being Imp Swarm and Doomguard/Terrorguard. I've played with openers and have good results from prepoting/precasting soul fire or even demonbolt if I have enough fury, also maintaining all doors doom, corruption and debuff and demonbolt stacks rather than fury dumping. After analyzing several boss encounters the biggest problem with the demo rotation has been maintaining those uptimes. More to come I'm tired of typing on my phone.

You're lying by saying it's been updated for 6.1.

It doesn't reflect the 6.1 changes yet so the guide must stay at 6.0.3 atm.

Could you elaborate?

Question about Grimoires. The current text says that Grimoire of Service is best for single target, and that Service and Synergy are tied for multi-target/AOE. Is Supremacy not in the running here?

Thanks for your time.

I would like to point out a minor error under the rotation section regarding the T17 4P bonus and its interaction with Hand of Gul'dan. It currently states :

" This drastically increases the uptime of the Hand of Gul'dan DoT with 2 or 3 stacks on your target."

While not a particularly egregious error, it should be changed to properly reflect that the DoT applied by Hand of Gul'dan will never stack to three. It should, rather, state that the duration of the two-stack DoT will be refreshed upon the third cast of Hand of Gul'dan.

It is not a major source of misinformation, but it was a point of confusion for someone this morning and I do feel like that the guide should reflect the most accurate information possible.

Thanks!

I have a question regarding wow_icon_achievement_boss_archimonde.jpgArchimonde's Darkness and wow_icon_spell_warlock_demonsoul.jpgDark Soul: Knowledge when using wow_icon_spell_warlock_demonicservitude.Demonic Servitude or wow_icon_achievement_zone_cataclysm.jpgCataclysm.

Whats the mechanic behind that 2nd charge:

1) do both DS share a common 2min cooldown

2) or are there two indepandant cooldowns for each charge

3) or is the only one second charge per fight

And, more important, how do I use the second charge properly? I know I have to use the first on CD, but does this also hold true for the second DS or should I spare it for heorism/boss-mechanic only?

The second charge works similar to how Hand of Guldan charges work, you start with 2 and when you use one it goes on cd, then when you use the second it has to wait until the first cd has finished to start working through it's cd.

One thing:

Corruption is extended when you cast wow_icon_inv_jewelcrafting_shadowspirit_Touch of Chaos while in wow_icon_spell_shadow_demonform.jpgMetamorphosis, so you will generally not have to refresh it manually. That said, if Corruption is about to drop and you have no reason to enter Metamorphosis, then you can refresh it manually. You do not lose ticks if you refresh it when it has 5.4 seconds remaining or less.

Is this still true when Demonbolt is specc'd?

According to the guide, refreshing Corruption manually would just occur from time to time but my tests yesterday yielded different results. I had to refresh it manually all the time. Am I doing something wrong?

With Demonbolt, you cast Touch of Chaos a lot less often, so that means more manual refreshes of Corruption.

I noticed that you say to always use Dark Soul when using Imp Swarm but I dont see that reflected in your "opening rotation" ... which one takes precedence?  Should I reserve IS until DS is sprung or should you incorporate DS into that opening rotation? Sorry if Im reading it wrong, but it did seem inconsistent.  Thanks for the great guide!

The opening rotation tells you to use Imp Swarm and than to activate Metamorphosis and use all your codlins. It's pretty clear, no?

As far as I can tell, Hand of Gul'dan doesn't stack past 2, even with T16 2-set procs. It will still refresh the duration, but the intensity doesn't stack past 2.

Sorry about that, I thought I had removed all the erroneous mentions of 3 stacks a long time ago, but I guess this one slipped through sad.png

I believe that this question would be better asked in the Warlock section.

I don't understand why you want to use a macro to cast Corruption.

I have a Question. Did you ever tested the dps of the imppet with wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Glyph_of_Demon_Training.

Single Target it should be above the Felguard/Wrathguard, but under the Doomguard and Terrorguard.

Something I would find enormously helpful would be a numeric stat weighting suitable for use in e.g. Pawn.

We had the opportunity to attend a group interview where developers answered some interesting questions about The War Within.
Production Director Michael Bybee and Senior Game Designer Sean McCann had a lot to say during the interview, thanks to many great questions from the many WoW community figures asking them!
      Delves:
Delves will be cross-faction. There will be Warband-bound rewards from Delves. Levels and Gear: 11 difficulty tiers total, with tier 9 and above not offering any new loot, mainly for bragging rights. Tiers 1 and 2 immediately selectable, 3 at max level, 4-11 when season 1 starts. There might be higher tiers as well, some possibly with just a boos room. Included in the Great Vault; gear for Tiers 8-9 equivalent to Mythic+5. Most delves will have static maps, with the dynamic part being enemy spawns, treasures and similar. The rotation of these dynamic changes are currently on a daily basis, but that may change as it's still being decided. Unlimited entries, but restrictions on the number of rare and epic keys. No downscaling in higher tier Delves, they can be outgeared. Companions: Brann progresses up to level 50, advancements shared with your Warbound. Brann is the companion for Season 1, with different companions planned for future seasons.
      Warbands:
No account-wide gold, but you will be able to deposit your gold to the Warband bank, where other members can take it out. Double click to log in Warband chars should be available, but not 100% sure yet. No plans to add more than 4 characters in Warband screen. Unclear if there will be additional poses and other options for the Warband screen, it's still being discussed. Events
More Holiday event updates, as there is now a "Live Team" that only focuses on the ongoing events in the game, including adding new ones like Azeroth Archives. Each zone will have its own world event, and the Hallowfall one is particularly special (no details shred though). Itemization:
Discussions about Legendaries are not ready to be disclosed. Aiming to broaden the sources for acquiring class sets in The War Within. Game Mechanics and Systems:
Archaeology: Not included at the launch of The War Within. Dragonriding: Leaderboards considered for future updates but not confirmed. Professions:
NPC work orders for professions, mostly for skilling up.
      Raids and Mythic+:
Heroic week is coming back! Mythic difficulty will unlock a week after the raid releases once again. Dungeon rotations from season to season will remain, as well as adding old ones in to the rotation. Plans underway to enhance the soloability of Battle for Azeroth raids; details to be announced. Mythic system has been reset: Mythic +10 is now the starting point. Discussions ongoing for more affix combinations; no new affixes announced yet. Raid testing coming later on in the Beta. Engine and Feature Updates:
Major updates include the Warbands system and improved ocean visuals at Isle of Dorn. Overhaul of the Group Manager to simplify group coordination. Follower Dungeons available from the start for leveling, allowing dungeons to be part of the zone story; potential expansion to include Follower Raids based on player feedback. Early Access and Launch:
Set to start at the end of the week with a Tuesday game launch. New raid opening delayed to prevent early access advantages, ensuring no unfair benefits from the most expensive pre-order options. Customizations:
No new glyphs for character customization at launch, with a commitment to add more customization options throughout the expansion. An idea for sharable links/codes for transmog setups was mentioned, and while they did not confirm it was being worked on, there was a seeming hint that it may be, even with the code showing where to get parts you're missing from the transmog set. Feedback and Development:
Evaluating player feedback on Brann’s performance in Delves and overall class balance in the Alpha.

Sikran, Captain of the Sureki (no model yet)
Born into a noble family, Silkran established himself as an arrogant duelist within Queen Ansuerk's court. This indomitable fighter now ensures that any who threaten the throne fall before its might.
      Rasha'nan

Deep within the bowels of the queen's palace, Eggtender Ovi'nax conducts abominable experiments with the black blood found in Azj-Kahet. This corpulent horror lumbers through the palace's cavernous depths, regurgitating inky sludge onto hatchlings to observe its gruesome effects.

Yet, these two powerful nerubians harbor a hatred for each other even more powerful than their loyalty to the throne. While unleashing their considerable strength onto their enemies, each is also fighting to ensure their counterpart does not survive.

      Queen Ansurek
After a revelation of traitors in her court, Queen Ansurek decides she must eradicate the palace's invaders herself. However, paranoia over whom she can trust gnaws at her psyche.
