dynamic updating question re chaos bolt

Recommended Posts

hey guys, im kinda scratching my head here and my search didnt really turn up much (possible incompetence, throwin it out there) but i'm playin around with my lock and i cant seem to nail exactly how dynamic updating has affected chaos bolt. prior to patch if we got the cast off a millisecond before the trinket ran out we captured that spell power. lovely, simple, i get that. but with the update do i now have to predict the travel time to ensure that the bolt hits the target just prior to the trinket ticking away? i'm seeing some inconsistent results from my bashing on a dummy trying to test the threshold but i cant seem to nail it down. i'm hoping i've misunderstood the dynamics here because predicting travel time is absurd and, frankly, a total pain the ass. someone tell me im wrong - if so, i hate this. lol.

Casts are still calculated at cast finish. CB works the same as it did in 5.4

First thing I tested when I downloaded the patch. Just wanted to verify this is correct.

Yes.

DoT snapshotting is dead since dots dynamically update, single cast snapshotting still works just the same as before.
