This, at least for me, is not a forum that I will be participating in discussion about PvP. The thread is fine, I just wouldn't expect a response that holds much weight considering most of us are PvErs.

This, at least for me, is not a forum that I will be participating in discussion about PvP. The thread is fine, I just wouldn't expect a response that holds much weight considering most of us are PvErs.

Naturally, hardcore PvPers will probably want to use more specialised forums, like arenajunkies.com, but I think it's fine for casual players who occasionally dabble into PvP to discuss stuff here.

We'll probably want to run with Binding Shot, Spirit Mend, Thrill of the Hunt and Power Shot.

Other talents will largely depend on whether you're doing battlegrounds or arenas, and do you have a dedicated healer with you.

I imagine most of the hunters will want to run Beast Mastery, as it has high burst on short cooldown, and several pet related problems were resolved, like our pet getting nuked all the time.

That said, I know I will be playing a different game. What I like the most about the hunters is our ability to dish out ungodly damage from distance, while being mobile and able to kite. So I will be playing MM, most likely Lone Wolf. This leaves without convenient snares, as I can't use my pet to slow the target (spider ability), nor the Exotic Ammunitions with frost ammo. So I'll have to rely on stuns and concussive shot to keep the distance.

However, what I intend to be is a sort of specialist sniper. I very much miss this feeling Star Wars: The Old Republic. If there's one thing that game did right it's the battlegrounds, they're loads of fun on any level. So when I played Sniper there, I pretty much just hung back, and killed everyone I wanted from distance, while they were distracted by my allies. This will only work in battlegrounds, though.

In arena lot of factors will stack against MM: constant need to move, so no mastery uptime, long casts as only means of dealing damage, reliance on Lone Wolf to keep the damage high, which makes us sacrifice a lot of utility. That's why most will want to run BM.

For BM, blinking strikes and adaptation will probably be go-to talents, and as always we'll want to run crit and mastery. I don't think BM PvP style will differ a lot from what we've seen in MoP.

So I had a lot of PvP after leveling up, I did Ashran at least once a day, but only been to a couple battlegrounds. Here's what I've noticed so far:

1) It's extremely easy to get entry level gear. Where previously gearing up would mean two tedious weeks of battlegrounds where you're a liability to your team, now you can get only in a few days, and you're just another face in the crowd.

In Ashran, when you loot bodies of killed players there's a chance to get a trophy, e.g. "troll's tusk". You can turn that trophy for a chest which contains a piece of PvP gear, and winning ashran first time in a week also grants a chest of better quality, which can contain honor or even conquest gear pieces.

You can once for a character do a few Ashran zone quests, which grant 200-500 honor, and there are also PvP events. All in all, you gain honor and gear much faster.

2) Consumables. There's a ton of consumables on Ashran, some of them drop from rares, others you can just loot from the grounds. Stuff like +15% all stats, 40% dmg reduction for 10 seconds, speed buffs, scrolls that summon NPC that help your faction, ancient artifact that triples the wielder's health and damage but drops on the ground if you're killed, etc.

Knowing where to get these consumables and using them is important.

3) PvP itself. Everyone is extremely beefy. Burst damage classes are gone as a thing. Time where people would crit for third of your health is gone. For that reason, BM hunter seems to be the very strong, if not best class for PvP currently, because of unparalleled kiting ability, survival and huge utility kit.

Currently I'm using this spec:

15: Crouching Tiger, ...

This one is up for debate, but considering how overwhelmingly useful Deterrence is, I think this is the way to go. Freeing from snares is good, but we already have Master's Call for that, and I don't really feel the need for an extra root, while 10 second cooldown on Disengage is extremely useful.

With everyone having so much health, you should be looking for sustain rather than burst, in all things, and short cooldown on Disengage helps with kiting very much, and - if you're good with your mouse - even pursuing the fleeing enemies.

It's useful to know that Goblin Glider Kit can be used by everyone, even non-engineers, so Disengaging from the cliff into the Glider can take you really far, and help you catch an enemy or escape.

30: Binding Shot

Seems to be the best choice, at least for non-arena PvP, because of the longest duration and multiple targets. Usually people don't even notice you put a Binding Shot on them, and get stunned. Notably, you don't have to actually hit enemies with the initial shot, everyone who passes through the marked area will get stunned.

45: Spirit Bond

With everyone having so much health, having a passive and strong regeneration makes you very hard to kill. In decent gear, you can pretty much tank 1-2 DPSes on you, then disengage and just shrug off the damage.

60: Thrill of the Hunt

The only realistic choice. Dire Beast will get kited forever, and you don't want to be stuck casting two low damage long casts to get better focus regen with Steady Focus.

75: Blink Strikes

I haven't given A Murder of Crows a fair chance, but from what I've seen it used on me, it doesn't do enough damage to be worthwhile. Stampede could potentially be a utility cooldown, but in PvP your pets will most likely get stuck in roots, freezes and stuns, and barely do any damage.

Like I said, right now consistency > burst, and Blink Strikes is consistency, which also very useful for keeping your pet on target, which is doubly important for BM.

90: Power Shot

I see so many hunters using Barrage in Ashran. It's funny how they think that AoE does anything in PvP.

Powershot is no longer as powerful, and does about half Kill Shot's damage, so not at all interesting from the standpoint of damage. But, the ability to knockback enemies is useful utility, while Glaive Toss merely offers a marginal increase in damage, and an additional slow.

Up to you.

100: Adaptation

This talent solved so many problems with BM, where we had to choose between damage and utility, but not anymore - we all get a fat, damaging pet with Sacrificial Roar, which makes us even more beefy.

As mail users, we get higher than average armor by default, combine that with steady stream of regen from Spirit Bond, Sacrificial Roar, double Deterrence, short cooldown Disengage, Master's Call and we're almost impossible to catch and kill.

Importantly, you can use Sacrificial Roar even while stunned, so make sure to do that.

Make a macro for that, /cast [@player] Sacrificial Roar, and another one for Phoenix's Heart or whatever it's called.

---

As for Glyphs, myself I use the one that allows me to always be stealthed in Camouflage, the Master's Call glyph for added survival and Disengage glyph to jump further away.

---

Pet: I prefer to use Silithid, as it provides a stamina buff, making me even fatter, but more importantly a slow ability, so I can kite easier and let the pet stay on target more.

Pet is mainly a preference thing, and I think any exotic pet will do nicely here.  Perhaps a healing reduction pet, or a Spirit Beast for an added heal, though I'm not sure how much it's worth right now.

      About The Guild
Twenty First Knights was formed in 2021 with the working gamer in mind, a grounded midcore experience where great gamers with real lives can come together and still complete competitive content without the noise and toxicity of "elite" guilds. To that end we’re more than just a gaming guild – we are truly a community made of members who enjoy playing every single aspect of the games we play, from PvE to PvP to Crafting to chattering socially with each other over Discord. We’re made up of members from all over the world, with a wide variety of ages, backgrounds, genders and play styles. Because we’re community-oriented, you’ll never feel like just another cog in the wheel. We’ve only got one common goal – to enjoy our favorite online games together. We’d love for you to join us!
      What We Are Looking For
We are looking for folks who are interested in the community and the people they play with as much as the game. If you have a get in and get out mentality then Remnants is probably not for you. If you want to enjoy and down content with capable players who are friendly and patient, then Remnants is most likely a great fit for you. If you’re just returning and are looking for a great guild to catch up and grow with or are simply looking for a more grown up environment then look no further, we kindly offer a trial membership which gives you a chance to get to know us better before committing and vice versus.
      PvE
We strive to help our members get the most out of PvE content and also assist them in improving and advancing. We are always willing to provide advice and guidance on builds, gearing, and mechanics. We are currently planning on restarting normal raiding and subsequently heroic raiding as our progress dictates. It is a great time to join the guild if you are just returning to the game or missed out on this content before the next patch hits.
      PvP
We encourage fun and friendly gaming to both the fans of PvP and those curious about it. Twenty First Knights PvP primarily focuses on the social aspect of gaming, and players of all skill are welcome to join us at any time. To those interested in honing their skills, we are always willing to lend a hand with builds, classes, and how it all comes together to make a character effective.
      Crafting
Our crafting department provides the consumables you need to participate in the events of our other departments. The guild bank offers flasks, potions, and feasts for our event times, as well as gems and enchants to keep your gear competitive.  We also hold raffles and gathering events with prizes for those who like to help us keep our guild bank stocked!
      Play Socially or Casually
Although we have members doing end-game content, we also have many members who play when they have time, or enjoy the simpler pleasures in WoW like leveling slowly or going on random adventures. We also have a very inviting approach when it comes to difficult content: many of our members are happy to bring along a “newbie” to dungeons or new content, but there’s no pressure for you to join events you aren’t interested in!
       What We Offer
Very active Discord for voice chat and keeping in touch while away from the computer Freedom to play your game the way you want Scheduled events on the calendar as well as “pop-up” events put together through guild chat Friendly and non-judgmental community and environment A structured leadership team, with officers for each of our departments (PvE, PvP, Crafting, and Recruitment) What We Value In Our Guild Members:
