CLCProt for WoW Warlords of Draenor 6.0 is a Paladin raid tool for Protection spec -- useful for dungeon tanking too.

It helps the player execute the paladin's "rotation". The rotation which you specify consists of a sequence of abilities ("actions") in an order of priority for their use.

CLCProt simply informs you of the action that has the highest priority which is currently usable and satisfies the conditions -- if there are any -- to use it, such as whether a required amount of Holy Power is available.

CLCProt is designed for flexibility and adaptibility. Its options and configuration settings facilitate optimal use of the paladin's skills, buffs, and armor tier set bonuses.

Also, you may create "aura buttons" for skills, items, and buffs that disclose their status. Since you specify their size and location onscreen, you can create a layout which you want for a set of aura buttons that you want to see. (Although they are called "buttons" they only display information.)

Save option choices, configuration settings, and aura button layouts in profiles that you can restore.

CLCProt is compatible with a companion tool for Retribution spec, CLCRet, and with some custom user interfaces such as Elv UI.

You are welcome to download it from:

@DVMMcKenna:

Although I have not heard of this happening with anyone else, the most likely causes are:

(1) Your character must be a Paladin, Level 45 or greater, and have the Protection specialization. While the Protection spec is enabled (active), CLCProt displays output on the main screen according to how it has been configured.

(2) You did not install the addon correctly. Extract both of the folders in the .ZIP file to the following folder:

     Drive:\ .... any other folder(s) ... \World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons

"Drive" is the drive partition (usually designated by a letter such as C: or D: ) where you installed the World of Warcraft software in the folder named "World of Warcraft".

(3) Be sure to select CLCProt as an addon that you want to load by using the "Addons" button, which is in the lower lefthand corner of the screen where you log-on to your Paladin by using the button labeled "Enter World".

If each of the above items are satisfied, but CLCProt loads and displays a black (?) box for the main and/or for the second skill, then most likely you need to configure it. Enter /clcprot on the chat command line to access its UI and choose the conditions under which you want CLCProt to display its output, e.g., "always" or "in combat", etc.

PLEASE READ THE FILE TITLED "YOU MUST READ ME NOW - CLCProt for WoW Warlords of Draenor 6.0.rtf" which is in the .... \Interface\Addons folder named CLCProt (not in CLCProt_Options).

Among other things, you need to record a proper action priority sequence in the data-entry field for it on the Rotation tab.

NOTE that CLCProt might not display anything in the skill boxes unless and until the paladin is in combat, even if you have configured it to be displayed "always" instead of "only in combat" on the first configuration screen. I have used the "always" option just to display it while I am configuring "aura buttons", and specifying the size and location of the boxes for the main skill and for the second skill, respectively.  (They are visible through the configuration panel.) Generally speaking, there is no use for it unless and until the paladin enters combat.

Other than this, I cannot think of any cause for the appearance that you describe. When there is a local Lua error, the interpreter displays a dialog. When there is a global Lua error, it also displays a dialog. However, if it is intercepted by the !Swatter module of Auctioneer, !Swatter sends a message to the General tab of the chat window instead. Regardless, for a global error, the main and/or secondary skill box will usually be either solid white within the border, or totally clear (you can see the background through the box border). But check the General tab of the chat window for an error message -- you might need to scroll up to find it among ones that have scrolled-off the display.

You might also search the WoWInterface forum for posts about CLCProt and/or post a request for help there. The author does not have the WoW installed on his computer any more, so there is no way to investigate or to correct any flaw in the addon itself.

Hey guys. So I tanked way way back in TBC and WotLK vanilla. But I’m old now and totally forget everything.

To tank heroics 500 defense ok to start? Or do you need for sure 540 to even attempt them?

AoE tanking is using SoC and single target is SoV?
