Ko'grah - to use CD to Expell Magic Shadow or not?

Recommended Posts

I have run with two pugs and gotten two different strategies in dealing for Shadow. One pug each healer took turns using a CD (and we did get the boss down). In the other pug the raid leader said not to go nuts healing it as most people have shields (to be frank had no idea what he was talking about). We did not get the boss down but not due to shadow. My take seems to be there is no need to use CDs. I have been allocated the heal leader in my raid group - however tonight I took the first option (using CDs rotating between healers) but we were wiping to other mechanics where people health was dropping. I don't think CDs are necessary on expel magic from my observation. We have two Druids, Shaman and a holy priest usually.  What does your guild do? And more importantly does the strat have to change in heroics when shadow hits harder.

Our raid use CDs on Expel Magic: Shadow.

Ko'ragh (N) kill logs

4 healers: shaman, druid, pala and holy priest.

I think that this debuff is the best time for healing CDs. All the raid is affected and you get rid of it in the fastest way without burning mana.

Fatboss's guide on this boss (as seen here) recommends using a CD for expel magic: shadow. And whilst I've only done it a few times, this seems to be the place to use healing CDs, they're not really needed elsewhere. Depending on what your healers have tho depends on how you can use your CDs. (if you have a disc priest, their CD won't help since it's just a damage reduction, so they could use their CD as an "oh shit" moment when people are stacked and taking a lot of damage, I.E lots of orbs dropping and not being soaked).
