WW help. (log included)

10 posts in this topic

Would anyone mind checking my log or logs and seeing if there is somewhere I can improve? I would greatly appreciate it. This is the first expansion I am maining a monk and besides our defensive cds being a lil lackluster in pvp, I am greatly enjoying it.

Here is my armory though I may have tank gear equipped in some slots as I mostly run around as brew outside of raids.  http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/area-52/Outb%C3%A0ck/simple

Just from a quick look inspired i see quite a bit of things wrong. You had 28% of up time of Tiger Power which is a big problem you need find a addon/weak aura to track it you should have 98% or higher up time on it. Also notice you only Pop'd Serenity once in a 6 min fight, assuming you only used it pull that's a huge burst damage that's going to waste you can at least use it about 4 times. Make sure your actually using Fist of Fury ON CD, It's one of our big hittas now! I know a lot of monks in mop didn't even have it on their action bars but you have to learn to bake it in our priority of abilities.

Everybody learns differently I learned a lot by watching streams on twitch. Specifically http://www.twitch.tv/patt1s0nfrom Ascendance. He hasn't streamed since mop, but ill be streaming tonight if you get a chance stop by ask question and just watch. Not claiming to be the best monk in the world but i'm sure you can learn a few things. Good luck bruh!

The log you get pointed to it looks like he was dead for the other 72% of the fight.

That being said a quick glance over the other fights you arent keeping 100% uptime and your chi/energy cycling is less than optimal.

Ill have another look later tonight if i find some time :)

That make sense didn't notice. Everything looks pretty good on your Butcher Kill.

A few quick tips i can suggest are:

Your opener, you can refine this to such a way that you open exactly the same way each fight. On your butcher kill it looked like this:

Chi wave > Xuen > RSK > Jab > BoK > TP > Jab > BoK > Chi Brew > BoK > Jab > TeB(6 stack) > RSK > Jab > FoF

An extra Chi brew will give you more stacks of TeB.

Not to reinvent the wheel

TEB and Serenity

I would expect that serenity would be best used at low energy with TeB active for some mean burst.

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/F7payqg2dLmVYx4P/#type=auras&source=20&fight=8&pins=0%24Main%24%23909049%24auras-gained%240%240.0.0.Any%240.0.0.Any%24true%24125535114.0.0.Monk%24false%24152173^0%24Main%24%234210e6%24auras-gained%240%240.0.0.Any%240.0.0.Any%24true%24125535114.0.0.Monk%24false%24116740

I hope that lonk works for you. It shows that your TeB is falling off during your serenity spam.

During your first serenity you have:

8 BoK

1 Jab - wasted 1 chi

1 RSK

7%ish uptime on TeB

I would look at optimising your serenity burst to allow for TeB uptime, no wasting chi, and finish with a free FoF cast.

Hope this opens some eyes for you :)

So.. is the opener you posted here the best way to do it or is the opener that Dolzzy posted in the other thread the best way? Or are they both the same and I'm just missing something? Thanks again for all the help.

I posted what you did, dolzzy's post is how you should do it.

You are right. Sorry, I misread it. Thanks again. I tend to panic on the opener and am still working on getting it right.

What i did is i went to a training dummy and just practiced my keybinds over and over and over.

I even tend to use a FSK to get to the boss on the pull. eg Pot > Chi wave > FSK > RSK etc
