Not Satisfied with HPS Throughput, please help!

Recommended Posts

First the basics: My Armory

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/emerald-dream/Mcnalty/advanced

Log from my latest Kargath kill:

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/7DRb6HnjfAGY2cdB/#fight=10&type=healing&source=19

The problem:

OK so here's my issue. I'm currently ranked #14 for ilevel on my server among ALL paladins, and something like 88th percentile for gear globally. Yet my HPS throughput is hovering around the 60th percentile for my class globally. That leads me to believe I'm doing something wrong rotationally.

Here's how a typical fight goes for me:

Pre-fight, I'll spam holy shock to build up HP then put EF on the tanks. At pull, I spot heal with FoL and HL, using holy shock on cooldown. As holy power is stored, I use EF on people who are getting low on health. Previously, I kept the beacons strictly on the tanks. I'm thinking of using the beacon on faith on our druid tank, who seems to take a lot more damage than our warrior, and beacon-swapping with a macro'd FoL to other people who need healing. But as it is, I'm only pulling 18-20k HPS when I should be effortlessly reaching 25+k.

Looking at my logs, do you see anything else i can do to improve? I'm not the type of person to be satisfied with average.

if you did only cast holy prism 4 times.. that could be it.. holy prism is usually higher up on my list

Nice catch! I'll be sure to be more focused on getting that spell out on CD.

Anything else you can see?

i would just say to be smart about which bad guy you bounce the prism off of. I keep my melee leader as a focus most times so i can quickly target his target to bounce a prism off of knowing that most of the melee types will be close to that target to get the prism heal.

Your entire healing group has extremely high overheal (40-60%) in that log too. If you look at your raw HPS you're at 40k. Might be that you're group is running too many healers for that fight to allow you to get the numbers you want.

1/ Its a fight with very limited healing/damage taken

2/ OVERHEAL

3/ 3 Holy Paladins, you will all have double BOL, your all sniping each others heals

4/ We 3 healed 13H and you 5 healed 24H: Average HPS are 17K & 15K yet we have 10.26m overheal compared to your 28.33m (and our run wasnt that good either https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/qPRmtwdDn41TCxA6#fight=8&type=healing) But i know that I at least finished the fight on roughly 50% Mana because there was so little to heal and just spamming for the sake of meters is pointless

5/ HPS doesnt matter, If you think it does, run with less healers / have you tank mitigate less damage / Have your raid stand in more avoidable damage, or simply use the least mana efficient spells you have

If your raid all lives, and the boss dies the lower the HPS the better, means you all did your jobs properly
