That's actually a big buff. I would have rather had something a bit more exciting, but that means 20 down to 15 seconds because of the Draenor perk.

Kind of weird seeing this one lonely buff when so much is wrong with the class. Are they trying to buff Warlocks while also increasing the complexity? Giving us a faster cooldown on Havoc is certainly more interesting than simply increasing damage across the board but it's obviously not enough.

It isn't a big buff at all. There is only three fights that this is really useful.

Bladefist - no

Butcher - no

Brackenspore - slightly helpful but not by much, I've never had the issue of needing havoc and not having it ready.

Tectus - USEFUL

Twins - USEFUL

Ko'Ragh - Meh, might be a little helpful but again not by a lot.

Imp - USEFUL it will help the adds line up a lot nicer.

Buff on 3/7 fights isn't much of a buff.

As soon as they realize this, they'll take it back :P

Um Havoc glypged on Koragh and unglyphed on Brack is my parse. Havoc is the best ability in game for maximizing. This buff is nuce and will put Destro at least above Aff in complexity and maximizability

Also Mythic makes Havoc useful on the fights you said it wasn't which is the difficulty tuning of specs is based on.

Getting hyped over an extra 5 seconds off of Havoc is confusing.  If you don't glyph it, you're looking at 15 seconds.

On Kargath, this is only useful if you're going up in the stands (dumb) or your ranged DPS is so awful that the cat has 50%+ uptime.  Otherwise, you're sitting on Havoc.

On Butcher, there's no reason to Havoc ever.

On Brackenspore, adds don't spawn fast enough to facilitate 15 second Havoc over 20 second Havoc.  Spore Shooters and the large add have enough downtime between them that you're MAYBE looking at an extra CB if you can generate the embers fast enough.

On Tectus, you're getting extra cleave, so this is a small DPS gain - nowhere close to enough to push Destruction past Demonology here.

On Twins, Destruction is stuck being largely inefficient because of high movement.  Havoc doesn't fix this.  If you're playing Destruction here, you're not maximizing your Warlock.

On Ko'ragh, there is nothing to Havoc outside of the small adds when you break his shield.  If those adds don't die in 15 seconds, your raid is doing something wrong, so the extra Havoc isn't going to come into play.

On Imperator, this will help during the Warmage transitions, but it shouldn't help with the Abberations unless your raid is terrible at switching to the add.  I can barely get off 2 Chaos Bolts and a Shadowburn let alone enough globals to faciliate a 2nd Havoc use.

This smells like a PvP buff more than a PvE buff.

What?  Complexity?  Destruction has 4 buttons without Havoc.  Adding Havoc and considering it a short term DoT doesn't make the spec complex.  Let's be honest - Destruction and Affliction are not complex at all, in any way, shape, or form.

Havoc at least gives you choices while it is up. I didn't say either spec was complex. I only compared its complexity to Aff which right now is regulated by managing to keep DoT's up and haunted in burst windows and snipe DS kill shards. Havoc is a great tool and 5 sec lower on its CD is a welcomed buff. It certainly won't make Destro the multidot or AoE spec but I can definitely find more uses with the extra few casts a fight.

On a side note this kinda makes me wonder if I should ever glyph it. 50 sec CD is just enough risk to lose to much uptime to match up with DS and ICD trinkets. Unglyphed I can get a lot more casts off and If I'm on top of things, cast two Havocs within my 20 sec burst window anyway. Thoughts?

Situational.  The timing on the add on Mar'gok, for example, is, I believe, 45 seconds.  Glyphed would give mega burst on the add, which is really the only time it's needed outside of the transitions.  Glyphed would be a gain for any fight you're not using it on CD, or at least every 50 seconds.

Yeah I'm thinking Kargath tigers glyphed for burst when we get roar and they take more damage is a good example. Things like twins where I did glyph for the trinket/DS burst would no longer be as viable.

Just did a heroic twins fight with the new havoc, using it on CD with chaos bolt, but felt that I did not have enough embers for my burn phase - could barely reach 2 embers maximum if I havoc chaos bolts every time.

It is optimal now to always use havoc on CD with chaos bolts?

Or would it be better to just havoc + incin/conflag and save the 3+ embers for burn phase?

If you are having trouble building use the one before tinkets to build with conflag and incin. There's that complexity in action!...lol

Don't forget that you can precast Havoc to get the cooldown running.

My good deed for the day.

By 'precasting' havoc do you mean casting it before the pull?

Won't it aggro the boss?

no he means putting havoc up on Add One while you wait for Add Two to get closer (or embers to build)...meanwhile just stay on Add One.  it won't consume the havoc, and then when you're ready, switch for the double dip

edit:  and if you're like me, and have a "target last target" macro for your havoc, just pay attention.

Yep, I do this with Glyphed version on Imperator for 2x CB on Abberations.  Timing it is tricky - make sure you don't waste it!
