Which is the most complex PvE DPS class in WoD?

Recommended Posts

Title is pretty self explanatory, basically I haven't had much fun because everything seems so easy.

So far from what i've gathered the only DPS class that seems to have some complexity left is the Feral Druid, which I am not looking to play.

Opinions please.

Try Warlocks.

Some things cannot be described, just have to get the feel of it.

Also, experience helps reduce complexity.

I exclusively play feral.  My question to you would be, why are you steering clear of it?

It's a purely aesthetic reason, while I like the complexity forms just don't do it for me.

I checked out icy veins and played a bit on my lock alt, and I can't seem to see what would be complex about warlock?

Destru is stupidly easy, demo when getting used to it is fairly easy, while the demon fury dump is a really fun mechanic, the spec is ruined by being too simple both in and out of metamorphosis, and affliction is just keeping dots up, while of course you can play it at a relatively high skill level, it imo is a very boring style of play.

Feral is a great spec, and fairly complex, as is Balance.  Demo warlocks are relatively complex, but more clunky right now.  I agree that Demonbolt and fury dumping has simplified things, but a multi target fight with cataclysm brings back the micromanagement that made Demo downright overly complex to play.

I hear Subtlety rogues are pretty complex right now to master, but rogues are one of the few classes I haven't played to max level, so I don't speak from experience.

This. Once you engage with something for a while, you'll end up getting muscle memory and doing things on auto. You'll notice they'll become easy rather fast if you're good on learning and paying attention.

As for Sub Rogues, they got few stuff to monitor. Past expac they were hard as hell to play, today without positional requirements they're easier, but still.

Try it out.

I've played all three shaman specs since B.C. (enhance for the past 5 years). While I won't go as far as saying that enhance is "complex", it's notoriously difficult to master and maximize damage. Global and long CD crunching, along with a very finicky single target and aoe rotation.

Again, I'm not saying that it's overly complex, just that it's a very finicky spec to push maximum numbers with.

I think despite snapdoting is gone, Demonology is still the most complex dps spec in WoW. Most easy to fail at playing it, most hard to master. It's like Blizz took all the complexities from all dps specs and combined them to design Demo. You have dotting (complex due to the 2-stacks shadowflame trick), you have nuking, you have pet management, you have stance dancing, burn phases, 2-5 offensive CDs (depending on talents) and 4 resources to track (mana, fury, molten core and imps) and to manage in order to take the most of your offensive CDs and procs. Playing demo is a constant decision making test.
