Destruction Warlock Glyph Guide

This is the final installment of the Talent and Glyph Guides from me, Lockdupagain. After this I will be doing some strat guides and if the Warlock community at large wants it, some vids. Enough with the foreplay lets get right to it!

Major Glyphs- The major glyphs are pretty much standard here. Save but two which can be switched out at your leisure.

Glyph of Burning Embers- Increases your maximum burning embers by 1. This is an important one especially for RBGs, I build up all four then let loose a salvo of CB that can decimate and EFC or Healer. Also, having an extra one is great for a focus Shadowburn. I keep shadowburn on my wheel (wheel down). If I see my focus target hit 20% while I am building or burning embers, its always nice to have an extra one to kill him in a clutch situation.

Glyph of Healthstone- Dark Regeneration plus this glyph=alot of heals, again if you need one big heal instantly this is not the glyph for you, but 100% extra heal over 10 sec plus 25% extra from Dark Regen is hard to ignore.

Glyph of Dark Soul- While off cooldown, your Dark Soul ability passively grants you 10% of the active effect, but reduces the power of Dark Soul. Now, I use this one sometimes due to the fact that in RBGs you cant always blow your CDs when you are downing someone, you have to save them so this gives me extra oomf when I'm ready to pop my CDs.

Glyph of Conflagrate- No longer needs immolate to snare targets. This is good because my spells are all keybound so my conflag is on my mouse and so is my focus conflag. If I need to peel this is a good aid. I can tab conflag or focus conflag in a pinch. This is effective, and if you are running arena as destro a better choice than Glyph of Dark Soul.

Minor Glyphs- Once again most are cosmetic, but a few have real benefits.

Glyph of Nightmares- This is good for RBGs because you can move across water on your mount. Great for RBGs when getting somewhere in a hurry is a must.

Glyph of Verdant Spheres- This is a fun glyph, it lets you see how many burning embers you have above your head. Its cool looking especially when you have your Malevolent Helm...

Conclusion: These are the Glyphs that make sense, and are the best for Destro imo. I will be going into stat weights and spell "rotations" not really rotations so much as a spell priority. I'll be taking a day or so off, then back at it again! Comment and Like these let me know your thoughts!

Very nice Destro glyph guide, it really puts things into perspective. I was looking at glyphs though and i noticed three glyphs that i felt deserved a place in the guide:

Glyph of Demon Training- Allows your imp to put out its bolts twice as fast as before, and in threes'.

Your Felhunters Devour Magic will also heal you for the same amount it's healed.

Glyph of Soul Consumption-

Heals you for 20% of you maximum health every time you kill an enemy with your Chaos Bolt that yields experience or honor.

I feel that this could be good if your taking damage while grinding a player down.

Glyph of Supernova- Once your killed by, say a warrior, you deal damage in a 8 yard radius equal to 10% of your maximum health, PER Burning Ember held.

So if you happen to be killed by a warrior, DK, or some other melee class while carrying a full stock of embers, you can pack a pretty big punch; or you may well kill them, considering you should've already started grinding them down.

Thank you for your reply. First I will go over glyph of supernova as this is not even live yet. I personally, would not switch out a major glyph for this. Mostly due to the fact that I do not die enough to warrant a glyph that only works on those few instances. I am not saying I am the greatest, but I am usually able to survive multiple encounters with the enemy. It would have been cool had it not been nerfed so bad. This is goin to be something that looks cool, but I doubt it's effectiveness until it goes live.

As for the rest of glyphs:

Glyph of Demon Training- you should be sac'ing your pet anyway, so if you do that then you have no need for this glyph. I know people think that GoSac is nerfed, but I argue to the contrary. 25% of my chaos bolts dmg is added as a 3 sec DoT? That's pressure and with recent healing nerfs it is working out nicely.

Glyph of Soul Consumtion- First, no one should be executing with CB. Shadow burn gives back 2 burning embers and with Ember tap you can use one to heal yourself for 18.Something percent of max HP.

I see what your talking about on Supernova and Demon Training, but i think i may have misworded Glyph of Soul Consumption, I was not meaning to label it as an execute. Just any time you kill someone with a Chaos Bolt, which i'm sure is often, your healed for 20% of max health.

And i understand that it would be better to kill a person with Shadowburn instead, because you get more embers that way, but more often than not, your gonna be nuking people with a CB every now and then and they'll die as a result.

With recent tweaks CB should not be killing that fast. As I stated in an earlier post, your kills should be coming from Shadowburn. The only time CB should kill is due to an ability hitting harder than usual or RNG. You want consistancy though, and you get that with Ember Tap. It would be a good Glyph if there was one more slot, but I wouldnt go replacing anything for it. I will add that this is a playstyle choice as well.

point taken, i don't really keep up with all the patchs and nerfs and junk, i just play whats there.
