- A Brief History -

Giant Censored Robots is among the oldest guilds on Mal'Ganis, one of the most competitive servers in the world. Originally created by members of the Shacknews.com website during the classic World of Warcraft beta, GCR has since expanded into a thriving community of players from all over. We take the reputation of our guild very seriously and hope that our members do too. Everyone is held to the same standard - to act respectfully to guild-mates and anyone else they meet in-game, on the forums or wherever. Throughout the years, we've had successes and failures, but we will always be here fighting until the end. We're looking for long-term, like-minded players who hope to stick around for years, not tiers.

- GCR Wants You -

With the start of WoD, we're looking for a few members to bolster our roster for Mythic raiding in the new expansion. Our goal is not to obtain world firsts, but to maintain a respectable position on Mal'Ganis for Mythic Mode progression.

We expect our Raiders to have fully mastered their classes, and be well-versed in their role in a raid setting. We're looking for great players who maintain a serious approach to raiding and take pride in being competitive and pushing through hard content.

Raid morale is an important part of a successful raid group. Things don't always go as intended, and we need quality Raiders with patience and persistence - people who are willing to play through any potential issues, not just give up when things aren't going their way. We want players who show up and perform for the good of the raid team, and have fun playing together.

Raid Schedule

Tuesday - 8:00 - 11:00pm CST
Wednesday - 8:00 - 11:00pm CST
Thursday - 8:00 - 11:00pm CST

The first round of raid invites are sent out around 7:45pm. Depending on how progression is going, we will sometimes go slightly later than 11:00pm; but no later than 11:30pm.

Expectations

Reliability
* You don't have to have 100% attendance, but you must be 100% reliable.
* Communicate your availability and show up, once you've made the commitment.

Maturity
* You must speak and act with courtesy and respect toward other members and respect their time.
* Know when to be serious and when to joke around. It's okay to have fun while you play, but it's of the utmost importance to pay attention, clear vent and perform during an encounter.

Performance
* You must play to the best of your ability at all times. This not only includes ranking high on the DPS/healing meters, but also maintaining high survivability and being able to adapt to whatever a boss may throw at us.
* You must be willing to obtain pre-fight knowledge of boss encounters. The best way to make sure that you understand all of the mechanics involved in a fight is the ability to fully explain the encounter to another player.
* You must be able to take constructive criticism.

Spec/Gear/Professions/Consumables
* You are expected to buff your character with the best available materials in-game.
* The ability to fulfill multiple roles is a bonus.
* Off-spec experience is highly valued

- How to Enlist -

Anyone interested in a Raid trial must submit a written application on our forums (forums.giantcensoredrobots.com). After reviewing the written application, an Officer may schedule and conduct an interview. If offered membership, the new recruit will be subject to a trial period. Trial Raiders are expected to maintain near-perfect availability during that time, and are evaluated both in and out of raids.

While GCR has a very diverse community, we ask that all players applying for a raid spot are eighteen years of age or older.

      We are also open to discuss a possible merge and get a smaller group or guild that is struggling to get their raids going, or that they want to advance to the next level. Most of us are versatile people and we can possibly reroll to achieve a good composition after a merge.
      Any social and friendly person who wants to join us for kicks and giggles is welcome. Just poke any of our officers online and you will get an invite for a social spot (no raiding spot).
      ABOUT US:
      Gordian Knot is a semi-hardcore raiding guild that consists of experienced raiders with some of them having raiding experience as far back as Vanilla.
      We are a friendly group who enjoys World of Warcraft and loves raiding. We have fun and joke around but when bosses need to go down then all is serious! We wish for all our members to enjoy the game as much as we do and we expect raiders to maintain a 80% attendance per month. Our wish is for this guild to provide a place for our members to call home and enjoy all aspects of this game in a fun and relaxed environment.
      We also enjoy a variety of other activities such as running a lot of Mythic+ dungeons doing alt-runs, achievement runs etc.
      We generally aim to push Mythic+ to get +15 keys done for the weekly chests. We do this in spirit to help everyone in the guild getting their highest possible gear reward from their weekly cache (socials included).
      There are a few things we hold in high value but above else we value friendliness and politeness towards guildies and other players and skillfulness when it comes to the more serious parts of the game.
      CURRENTLY:
      We raid 2 nights a week, Wednesdays and Sundays, from 20:15 till 23:15 server time. Our raid invites always start 15 minutes prior to each raid.
      Although we are a 20-man guild, we usually run an extra group in order to get more people to experience the joys of raiding, help new raiders learn the Knot’s way to down bosses and gearing up. Usually, these runs happen on Thursdays, and also we’re on RBGs killing alliance scums every Friday or Saturday or on other in game activities if not on RBGs!
      Our current guild progress is 1/9 in Amirdrassil mythic, and we're focusing on getting further progress in Dragonflight. Our aim is to always progress as much as possible but also to have a relaxed and fun atmosphere at the same time!

      Scepter is a guild with a semi-hardcore mindset, We aim to clear all content on Heroic difficulty. When we can, on top of that we try getting some Mythic kills too. (if enough people)
      Scepter is based on the Horde side of Draenor, there is no obligation to be on the server to raid with us, you can be Alliance or Horde and play on what ever server you feel like and still be able to play with us, you only need to join our Discord and our Community in game.

      We’re a group of friends who have been playing together since Legion and picked up new members along the way, and these days we’re more a community of people who play mainly wow raids and push m+ - but also a ton of other games to have fun together outside of wow as well, especially with those of us that no longer play wow but still want to stick around due to the friends made along the way. We generally put IRL as a priority over the game, but that doesn’t mean we don’t take it seriously when neccesary.
